Re: “Smoking and Stranded

If the authorities have their way, they'll treat it like alcohol, which is to say that they'll charge anyone with intoxication if they feel like it, whether we're REALLY intoxicated or not. Consider that this is a ZERO tolerance state regarding alcohol. Believe it or not, the majority of folks here in AZ do NOT know this. Ask people what the "legal limit for alcohol in AZ is", and the majority of them will say ".08" They are WRONG!!! If you have ANY amount of alcohol in your bloodstream, you are illegal! From .01 to .79, it's called "DUI to the slightest degree", and it's officer's discretion as to whether you get sited or not. They will do the same with marijuana, IF it ever becomes legalized.

Re: “No Surrender

Most of the “Golden Ones” at the U of A are products of training not talent. The difference is night and day. Many are basically fugitives from the state hospital. In fact the greatest number of admissions to area psychiatric hospitals are U of A professors.

Now the U of A had a diamond in Dr. Sue Sisley. A progressive physician with a investigative mind who was out to help Veterans. Oh, no we can’t have that! We want the credit not her! So now enters something called “professional jealousy”. Professionals will murder based on this issue. Remember, the eye surgeon who killed his partner due to professional jealousy here in Tucson? That’s how bad it can be..........

Dr. Sisley will investigate the mysteries of the Cannabis Plant and I predict she will make some striking discoveries. When this happens, the U of A will have a “change of heart” and try to bring her back into the U of A fold. I sincerely hope she tells the U of A where to get off and to shove their phony school up their vent.

Remember all major scientific discoveries are found at the ends of the Bell Curve not in the center of the Bell Curve. The U of A is out of touch and a educational system that rewards conformity not research and science.

I did not mean to comment twice but wha the U of A did to this doctor I find particularly offensive and vile.

Re: “Goodbye Will

Mr. Humble was no more than a chess piece on a political chess board, being driven be the lunatic fringe of the unseen powers lurking in the shadows here in Arizona. I will have to give Mr. Humble the credit for having enough sense to get out. I have a curiosity as to who will replace him? Interesting?

Remember: The Men in the shadows run Arizona; not the People of Arizona.

Re: “No Medicine

If you need Medical Marijuana to protect or save your health use it! I can assure you that all these croakers, pundits, Arizona Legislators and other various mealy mouthed know it alls will be NO place to be found when you lie dying in a Hospice.

It's a you Vs them equation. It's your life and the only rescue will be self rescue. X them out and save yourself and your life. Their is way too much respect in Western Culture on the "expert" what ever that is? Most of these so called "experts" can't even tie their own shoes or change a flat tire.

If you need Marijuana to save your live do so. Forget all these experts, hospitals, croakers and others that are educated beyond their intelligence. If you want to trust them, help yourself as they don't give a flip if you die, only if they get the insurance check! Why is it that when the medical insurance money runs out they report to you, "There is nothing more we can do for you"?

Screw the Hospital; if you need marijuana as a medicine use it.

Remember when seeking medical attention the first think they ask you is: How are you going to pay for this treatment? Not how sick are you!
These croakers, shrinks, hospitals don't give a damn, they just want money. For example: Some pills for Chemo related nausea cost $800 dollars each. You will get better results from 5 dollars worth of Medical Marijuana.

Forget them! If you need Medical Marijuana use it...................

Re: “Smoking and Stranded

The authorities just can't stand it. Marijuana that is. Their need to Hassle and intimidate Marijuana is overwhelming.

They are the type of Men or Women who see a dog and then beat it with a stick for a thrill. The think if they are not inflecting some type of pain or misery they are not doing their job.

They don't care what the Arizona Supreme Court says, nor how the People of Arizona Vote, nor do they even care. They want their way!

To Hell with the Supreme Court and the People of Arizona we will have it our way!

I have begun to have a sick feeling that no matter what the People of Arizona Vote for the Police/Authorities will find some way to derail or nullify the the Voting and will of the People of Arizona.

What the problem with this is: No matter how the People of Arizona Vote they will use their power and influence to twist the Laws for their own end. This is extremely serious and their actions Nullify our State Democracy and the power/will of the People of Arizona. They poison Democracy by their very actions.

The Government derives its powers from the People. Not the other way around.

Re: “Not Satisfied

It all distills down to Money. The Dispensary operators are now making very good money and income from Medical Marijuana. Now they now stand in the way of Legalization? They basically support Legalization only in the form They want (You buy from us only) and No personal cultivation. This insures they get the money and you get the shaft.

The Law they want, gives them access to the Big Rock Candy Mountain, i.e.. Money and lots of it, while they enjoy a Legal Monopoly placed on the backs of the Ill and Sick -- if they get their way. This is Not Legalization but a form of Legal manipulation based on influence and money.

If you can brew beer or wine in your home whey would you not be able to grow a few plants for your own use? I know one thing if there in NO prevision for Green Card holders, I will not sign nor support any form of legislation. Legal means just that Legal...............

Re: “Legal Theft, Part I

Look at policing for profit that went on 20 years ago right here
.http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tw/03-07-96/curr2.htm.
I wonder how many remember the Vice Squad Sargent shot dead while trying to Rob at gun point. The owner and convicted cocaine dealer of a Tucson strip club. Thinking a excon would not have a gun. Or just recently the BackPage investigation with city police & officials. We need police and they do a good job mostly. All monies & property of any kind or sort they collect during the official capacity of police needs to go to the general fund.

Re: “Legal Theft, Part I

This is a good argument for just making marijahuna legal.

As far as the police go, there are too many of them. This is true just about everywhere in the United States. It's time to start refusing them increases in staff, reguardless of how the ask, argue, whine, or cry.

Re: “Legal Theft, Part I

This is compete nonsense. All the people who use the 420 club are ill or injured and require Marijuana to battle chemo related nausea and pain, etc. This is nothing but police harassment and a money grab. With all these police murders of innocent citizens, this is becoming frightening.

Who are these people harming? First, the use of marijuana on a university campus or school grounds is against Arizona Law. Many of the members of the 420 Club go to the University Medical Center and Cancer Center for treatment, after their treatments they ride the streetcar to the streetcar landing right in front of the 420 Club. The exit the streetcar and then enter the 420 Club 20 yards away and consume marijuana to settle their stomaches and let the effects of chemotherapy wane. The police want to harass and steal from the ill and sick?

I will tell you who has become ill and sick: It’s the police that pull tricks like this one, hassling and stealing. No wonder the rank and file Tucson Citizen is frightened of them as they have become bullies and thieves.

What the 420 Club is:
1. It is NOT a dope den!
2. All the members are legitimate Arizona Green Card holders
3. The 420 Club is NO threat to anyone at all
4. All you will find in the 420 Club is the sick and ill trying to truncate and aswage their pain and misery form disease
5. All you will find in the 420 Club are people talking, playing games, chess and trying to make some kind of recovery. Thy are NOT criminals........
6. Cancer, illness, pain and death are very democratic and you, yourself may need the 420 Club sometime in the future! Do you really believe that Cancer, illness, pain and death will never set foot in your household? Think again!

If anything the Tucson Police Department should protect and help these injured, sick and ill people. Stop this harrasment of the ill, recovering and dying. What in the world is wrong with you?

Re: “Legal Theft, Part I

I strongly recommend reading Johann Hari's book: Chasing the Scream, The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs. This book will open your eyes, turn your stomach and make you realize - if you don't already - just what a tragic waste the 100 plus years of the War on Drugs has been.

Re: “Legal Theft, Part I

This is new ???? ever Since Dennis DeConcini and the "MANTIS"( Metro Area Narcotics Task Interdiction Squad) ( miss allocated and missing funds confiscation of A lear jet that they tooled around . In the 70's the Police District Attorneys informants have been setting up citizens and legally ripping them off and them keeping the monies it should go to the elected officials to govern. This is why we don't need a " Department of Marijuana" Same thing we collected the monies it is up to us on what we do with it. This type of governmental departments becoming their own tax and allocated monies collected out side the elected official is dangerous as you just read. And the ADA want to hire them to police their market with this power. Annie barricade the door the wolf is kicking it down.

Re: “Trouble in Pot Paradise

What are the dispensaries scared of? Growing Marijuana is lots of work and most people are too lazy or sick to do it or do not have the skills required. All this quibbling and back and forth are a "tempest in a teacup."

If home growing is approved by the Voters of Arizona the medical marijuana dispensaries would lose less than 1% of their sales I estimate. If you receive 99% of the money why would your go to the mat over the 1% left?

Dispensary owners have some mercy as many ill and sick people can't afford the prices you charge for your product. If you try to corner the whole market the Black Market will reappear and your sales will collapse anyway.

Re: “Two’s a Crowd

Alcohol is the product of putrefaction and filth while Marijuana is the product of a garden and Nature.
If you can brew beer and wine in your home why can't you grow a few plants for your own use?

I would estimate the cost of Medical Marijuana at around 10 to 20 dollars a gram at a Medical Marijuana dispensary. Now if you are ill with cancer/pain/PTSD, etc. the cost of your medication will run around anywhere from $300 to $600 dollars a month at the current rates. Plus you have all the other standard medications to pay for; plus medical care and copayments.

My question is why would Not the State of Arizona allow home cultivation for the seriously ill? It's no threat to anyone and It 99.98% of the time used by the home grower themselves. What is happening is the State of Arizona is receiving a massive amount of money into the Arizona Department of Revenue and once they get their hand on it they will not let go................

What need to be done is the Voters of Arizona need to pry the money out of their hands by a public vote by the Citizens of Arizona. Register to Vote and then Vote! Vote for legalization of Marijuana and Freedom.

Re: “Medicate Here

I have been to the 420 Social Club. It has a relaxed atmosphere and the people are accepting and kind. I have a green card. I set on the front porch and smoked some Hashish. While I was there on the porch like a cat smoking Hashish, a young man tried to gain access to the social club. He did not have an Arizona Green Card. He was denied entrance and was obviously disturbed.

TPD arrived and took the young person into custody. The police were gentle with the young person and were very professional. The Tucson Police do a better job than you think they do.

Now during this time, I was smoking Hashish setting on the front porch of the social club. I thought I would be next; however, the police said to me, "Have a nice day sir and I hope you are feeling better". I was very impressed.

Re: “420 Happenings

I attended the 420 celebration. The barbecued pork was excellent and the celebration fun. This event should become a Tucson staple. It's a great event to dispel the "Marijuana Myth". Everyone was polite and there were no problems.

Re: “No Surrender

What the University of Arizona did to this research physician is one of the worst hatchet jobs I have ever seen. The U of A is NOT into research but has its base in Politics/money. They have no interest in scientific truth but do have a great interest where the “next grant is coming from”. Now that is the main aim for the U of A. Money and Politics Not science.

Many of the University nobility are no better than church elders who threw Galileo into the town of Milan for life when he said, “The Earth was not the center of the Universe.”

The fault is that they think they are modern and scientific; they are Not. Marijuana research is at the very cutting edge of medical science. The plant and the chemistry within will bring many medical discoveries in the days ahead. The U of A will be left in the dust as other investigate the medical properties of this plant.

The U of A owes this physician a formal apology for their affront to her and their medieval mindset. A pull of the strings in Phoenix will set the U of A dancing like a puppet on a string.
Disgusting.......................

Re: “No Surrender

Arizona needs a simple proposal on the ballot to force our Land Grant University System. To study the effect and medical capabilities of Marijuana and the commercial development of Hemp. Arizona does not need a Marijuana Control board that wants to control both. Still if passed it would not establish study at the Universities for market just a power grab.
