If the Weekly needs a real Pot Editor, I'm offering.... Studied English at Rugby School in the UK, so I think I can handle the job! I also have the benefit of being an actual, legitimate MMJ patient!
I personally would say Bloom is a ripoff, as are most of the dispensaries. Smith obviously has no clue about genuine medical marijunana use. As someone with chronic pain from herniated discs and defective knees, I must use marijuana daily in order to have a normal quality of life. Some days, when the pain is especially intense, I can use up to an eighth. $55 an eighth is a ripoff, especially for Bloom's, poorly trimmed, loose buds.
No medicine is worth $55 an eighth. Some dispensaries, such as Purple Med, are starting to address this fact. They currently have J-27 and Dark Shadow for $35/eighth and Blackberry for $25/eighth. I won't pretend its top shelf, but its potent, tasty, well trimmed, dense bud.
People like Mr Smith are a detriment to the Medical Marijuana industry, as are all those who faked it to get a card. Recreational users are paying the prices that are allowing the dispensaries to gouge us legitimate patients, because when you are a recreational user, you don't care as much whether you pay $35 or $55 for something that will last you two weeks!
the resistance is maintained and $upported by the Feds, ATF, DEA, ICE, etc whose members livings are bolstered by it, and by the Cartels in and outside of Mexico, and the criminal mafia groups here. They mostly inflame local opinion against use through School, and Church organizations to bring pressure on legislative representatives to continue prosecution and to NOT decriminalize. That keeps the cost of obtaining it High and more profit to suppliers because production costs are actually low.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but they don't intend to sell it to tourists.
Mr. Smith you continue to be the prohibitionists' best friend with your usage of their slang for cannabis -- pot and weed (and even marijuana). You are neck and neck with the major asswipe on this subject Howie Fischer of Arizona Capitol Times and stop being a flak for the dispensary industry. Call it cannabis or Mary Jane or the trees or the herb but "Pot" is the favorite word of the media when they are too goddamn lazy to use more than a 3 letter word. You have been the MMJ critic for an entire year and yet oddly you fail to cover the basic story in Tucson which is the police in direct contradiction of the intent of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and their reign of terror in using undercover cops and informants at the AZDHS to arrest, harass and generally try and crib death the MMJ program. Get your stoner arse out of your "pot haze" and start doing some real journalistic writing or else let someone else have your job.
I live in california. And this is very comfortable state when it comes to the weather. But not so comfortable when it comes to laws, traffic and taxation. I think legalization would be a very good investment for this state. The pros obviously would out way the cons in so many different aspects. History has proven that to us and other countries. but theres still money hungry media, religious beliefs pharmaceutical companies, federal government agencies and state government agencies that still claim it's demoralizing, sinful and harmful. Or are they just afraid of change?. Hemp, cannabis and medical cannabis is a plant given to mankind by mother nature to use as a tool for life. No matter how hard us humans try to contradict that. Will always find a way to use cannabis. So lets legalize, regulate and tax everyone that sees this.
Seems like legalization would get both Republican and Democrat support. Republicans can cash in on the growth ( I'm sure the cigarette companies are raring to go) and the Democrats would enjoy the product. Then we could drop the medicinal fig leaf.
We all know legalize is Best
Thank you for your writings.
stop the lies,,,legalize !!!
