Prop 205 passes will be be #1 in incarceration we can make the top of the list in failed schools beating out all other states we will be 50th.
Yea Arizona needs to lead the pack in a new way to market marijuana the reason it will get better more enforceable less people in the market and a administrative court we own under civil laws no constitutional right's considered.
Only a moron educated in Arizona could vote for this.
bslap, sorry I dont see this as a step it>>> will be in direct conflict with any federal agencies that might come into to play with federal agencies if the federal classification changes.
This department will try to arbitrate with the FDA, FTC, ICC, IRS, Banking, USDOJ. In short This department will be set up to isolate it from federal oversight and take steps to continue autonomy in this rough governing department.
It will work against the consumer the patient and the social fabric as a whole. This department will only protect the marketeers consumers as always fuck you!!! Listen we will market pot you can buy from us or go to prison either way it counts as a plus in our columns for reason to exist. Oh yea we are protection the children how long can this lie go on.
Hm, but is it a step in the right direction? Once pot use becomes normalized, even in a poor way, then the feds will follow eventually and later propositions can open it up further.
Does anyone really understand that it would be very for a consortium of county Attorneys to just take over the oversight of this board easy as pie.
Az has 15 counties all it would take is to have all counties give proxy to a special task force of a few deputy county atty's on Marijuana.
Most counties rely on State monies for all civil functions. All the legislature has to do is hold back highway & medical allocations to those counties that dont capitulate on the marijuana task force.
After all thee no monies going back to small rural counties like Greenlee with a pop of 8500 why not let the big counties fight and reap the profits it's their problem they are the marketeers.
So we have Pima, Yavapai, Maricopa, Yuma, Santa Cruz, Cochise, already against legalization who will be the 7 & 8th county to join.
Prop 205 does nothing for Arizona but make availability easier and market participation limited.
VOTE NO PROP 205 >> VOTE NO PROP 205>>> VOTE NO PROP 205
Nick Meyers, Reasonably defined paradox of issues,
When this story associated MPP & CRLMA with WA,OR,CO,AL this is a very misleading. All of these states decriminalized before legalizing as CA has done and legislation there is on the ballot this year to.
So in looking at states that have legalized they have kept the State University system inclusive to use addiction, social changes, economic, employment.
In Arizona passage of 205 all monies collected are already earmarked for administration, enforcement & education. There would be no monies going for decriminalization. There will be n monies going for study. There will be no monies going for user representation of repeal of Schedule 1 WHAT THIS MEANS NOTHING FOR THE IMPACT GOOD OR BAD CAN BE SPENT AS PER CONSTITUTIONAL AGREEMENT .
So if 205 is passed This board with a pot full of monies won't want a reschedule why would it ? Cant spend any monies in AZ to decriminalize as per Constitutional agreement. Heads I win tails you lose kind of thing.
It then would be a few 2 members from the industry a director and a educator. With a possible chance to direct the monies to the departments of EDU. Instant majority of 4 with nothing going to the user or consumer
All of the other states that have legalized have done it with in state existing agencies. All states that have legalized and we can see how they are working the administration and enforcement. Why does Arizona have to reinvent the whole process? Because other states have seen the general application of legalization and seen marketability caps?
Why does Arizona need to build a separate court , system a separate policing agency, a separate revenue collecting , a separate licensing & compliance agencies,
let's summarize what happens with 205,
less employment protections, less medical requirements for patients, less social and economical impacts reviews, less people growing their own, less study on medical prospects of marijuana, Less requirements and understanding put on dispensaries, Less oversight of the whole process outside the department. Absolutely no limits to the power and market and enforcement abilities to the department. The rules are not even written and a already stacked board for marketability only.
They will be able to assess civil fines. If you are found with a plant out of strain of those sold, with no cap on the fines. If found guilty in criminal court then this Department can assess civil fines like a DMV. Most likely they will ask at the point of purchase to sign an agreement to purchase in that agreement you will agree to all civil requirements like a driver's license basically giving this new civil court oversight and fine accordingly like DMV. If found in noncompliance for not paying court all court fines the you won't be able to purchase marijuana. Insuring the illegal market the need for enforcement.
Files will be kept on who buys marijuana a report from your drivers license at point of sale will be recorded and since no medical privacy law will be in effect open to second party vendors and enforcement and just about anyone as they will be no requirements of privacy of consumers.
positives, can grow 6 plants (rules on what strains how to obtain fees attached,
(civil rights forfeited if decided to buy the license tag to grow and automatic permission for entry if you sign the license to grow a plant)
No doctor requirements to obtain, no annual review by a medical professional to counsel and administer. No interference by cities this will be sweeping to all but County Attorney will have oversight on zoning for growing processing sales. WTF. Less requirement on weights product content, medical oversight, Less
THIS IS JUST BAD NOT LEGALIZATION JUST POLICE AND AND MARKET CONTROL THE CONSUMER AND CHILDREN PAY THE PRICE.
Just where is the positive VOTE NO 205 >>>>> VOTE NO 205
In January 2016, I started having pains in my abdomen I just assumed it was nerves left over. I saw my doctor and finally h suggested I get a c-scan. I did that and they thought it was a cyst on my ovary. I set up an appointment with a surgeon and made a date for me to get it taken care off. My A125 was at 350 at that point. The surgeon told me I had stage 4 ovarian cancer and I less than a year to live if I did nothing. As I lay in my hospital bed thinking about being dead in some months, my mind went blank. It took me three days to accept the facts and three seconds to know I could do nothing about it but God could. My family doctor called me and reveal a secret about using cannabis oil alternative and that i could live again with cannabis oil medication for treatment and that moment my heart lifted for joy. I went ahead to do research on the cannabis oil and I found a lot of hopeful information and how many patients have cured various kinds of cancer with cannabis oil. I wrote to Cancer Centre London through email email@example.com and I was provided information on how to get the cannabis oil for treatment. I got the cannabis oil and I started taking it as directed. Now my ovarian cancer has been cured and I am a member for support cannabis campaign.
I have a very profitable enterprise growing high quality MJ that I don't want to subject to government oversight.
I've never understood why people would buy mexican dirtweed, when they could have high quality, locally grown herb.
Support American businesses, buy local. homegrown weed!
I believe the story missed answer to the question. I see grouped by age and belief alliances of sorts. Is the real question here is, will Prop 205 end prohibition? Or did I miss the question to the story?
There are two things you can count on no matter what: People will find a way to abuse anything to the detriment of their own health and at a cost to everyone else, and corporations will degrade, engineer and finagle anything to the detriment of the consumer and in such a way as to reduce any liability for the end results.
The best solution is to allow individuals to grow and consume their own marijuana and prohibit any commercial sale of individually-grown marijuana. Commercial sale of Marijuana for medical use only should be permitted and regulated to ensure quality control, but if history has shown us anything do not let the pharmaceutical companies have anything to do with it – ever.
Reefer Madness type arguments against it are showing up. Some people actually believe that stuff.
Given the opportunity, they would be like Carrie Nation.
CNN article showing the bad results of legalization.
No on 205. It eliminates any level for THC in auto related fatalities, which by the way have increased again, because of THC levels in the blood.
Employers will be stuck with potheads as they can not use the abuse of drugs as a reason for termination. How well do you know that Uber driver, or even that heart surgeon? No drug testing ever, never. It shouldn't have taken 20 pages of new law to legalize recreational use.
This was written by big money corporations . Don't be fooled.
No on 205!
Will you pay a tax and a police society so that a administrative group will administer everyone's equal fair needs. In this case we are really talking about a noxious wild grown weed. It is not that it is rare hard to obtain degrades quickly the primary reason you cant have it well. The Pharo needs more stones quarried pulled leveraged into place to be close to the gods duh.
I dont see a lot of opposition to legalization. I do however see the reasoning on both sides.
I really dont want to spend $600.00 to get another 2 years for the right to legally buy possess consume marijuana. However 205 is definitionally one in the hand two in the bush. In Arizona most bushes are thin and scraggly and should be easy to see through. There are no 2 birds first off just a chance to catch a bush.
After years of watching and experiencing Arizona marijuana culture since the mid 60's. It has been like running down a dark mine shaft hoping to find a teaspoon of water sip a bit of moss to chew on ones journey. Alas a beam of light breaks the darkness it illuminates a feasting area where some come to congregate and build an extended family. After so many years of blindly foraging through this abyss of exasperating endeavor of survival.
We have come into light building a community and having a look at each other for the first time. Years of wandering through the darkness one looks upon another man says you looked fucked up dude, you need some medical attention. What happened, gazing the other says yea thats what I want to know to dude what the fuck happened to missing so many parts and some completely blind to bless them. What is the light called it called AZDHS/MMJ a law passed to help us all come into the light some want to say the light is theirs and control it . In a completely dumbfounded way the crowd grasps REALLY !
Yes holysmokes says if I have all the light more will be for everyone and it will be protected from those still foraging. Holysmokes replies I have better and more light, more water & moss to drink and chew. All you have to do is get all your water and moss from me and I will protect you and the children. HAS THIS STORY NOT BEEN TOLD IN EVERY CULTURE AROUND THE GLOBE SINCE RECORDED TIME AND ALWAYS ENDED THE SAME WAY?
Here is a study just released by Rutgers & Univ of Pitt. a peer review of long term effect of marijuana on youth. To summarize there was no long term effect longterm from it's use.
This just blows props 205 justification out the freaking door building a new police dept and administrative system to protect youth. Just the damage this proposition to the lower income families will be devastating alone far more than any use would ever would have.
I remember hunting trips I went on as a child and some of the adults got their kids drunk and laughed as the slipped into enzyme bile wonderland. I also remember a child slipped slightly into the campfire my father in all his fantastic reasoning walked over the the father and extended a very comforting to all around. A 5 finger sedative to the father on the forehead. We all still went hunting together they still drank nightly. Then as a kid we snuck the alcohol quickly I found I dont like it at all. My father drank a lot, found out I didn't like still dont, It hurt him in a way to not have that bond I guess. I wonder what bond and better relationship I would of had less alcohol more marijuana. Prop 205 would felonize that severely limits father's income tell me wheres the harm to the child.
VOTE NO ON PROP 205>>>>>>> VOTE NO ON PROP 205
I am in favor of legalization. I am not in favor of the current ballot initiative here in Arizona. I may or may not vote for it.
The decision comes down to voting for something seriously flawed, just to get it done, or waiting to put something better on the ballot in the future.
I understand the medical growers and dispensaries wanting to protect their investment, but this initiative gives a semi-monopoly to them, to the detriment of anybody else trying to enter the market.
I much prefer Colorado's approach, but with the money behind the current group of lobbyists, it will never happen again.
Very informative recall of looking back on who as used marijuana. The story missed a few who were incarcerated for using marijuana in the 40's and 50's like Robert Mitchum or Gene Krupa & Chuck Berry.
Then to take a walk down memory lane for some that lived it 60's into the 70's. Nixon the smoke outs at 4th ave park where most of the Antiwar protest happened. I threw away my purple hearts stupid but crowd influenced. Time Magazine's article on Catalina High school as the most drug ridden school in America. Being able to go into bars and score pounds as they were sitting in a trunk in the parking lot. In the mid 60's I bought kilos from vaquero's on a ranch between Amado and Arivaca for $40 a kilo
Then came the enforcement & organized crime. Nixon and his trade deals brought spraying of paraquat on fields. Ramrodding through congress all sorts of draconian laws. Instilling foreign leaders in central and south America who made killing squads for suppliers. Toppled governments built new supply line looking for those buying at the same time having other agencies looking for who was selling.
It is sort of like ISIS today all of those leaders and supply line were built by the US when we destroyed the established market distribution lines. Then through money and supply manipulation the US thought it was possible to control and direct. Then the US seen this was not possible as the illegal markets grew under the sanctions this new market shift made them a illegal wall street of sorts and built ISIL. We need to remember war is a suppression of one lifestyle over another thus the war on drugs. War is a fight of economies and people are the commodities of loss. Millions have died are being killed today by our State Dept thinking it can control markets. As we borrow to try to stay above water and buy friends on borrowed money.
So let just look inside this prop 205 we have a market and supply line. In this we have a new police agency and court that is immune from public scrutiny. They will establish supply and market control they will award groups that can participate and those that can't which is the general populace growing. Even the judge throwing out the court challenge to the prop raised a eyebrow to the formation of this Department. That was not brought up before the court so that was not adjudicated but will definitely be brought up if passed.
This prop 205 is just another attempt at what thousands of years of lessons have taught us. This economy built by 205 will result in war it has all the factors to build the foundation of supply and attack as always to protect the children.
Prop 205 is just bad law Arizona and the citizens have passed a compassionate MMJ law as well as a private control of some parts of the medical market. Doctors choice, treatment where to acquire both. Prop 205 stops these for total market control more money more war. Arizona is 7th in incarnation with 205 we can make #1 and the money market line will be established to thinking it pays for education by after costs it will contribute to education .097% of it's annual budget.
Some at older age partake in marijuana I see profiling of political alignment as a reason for doubt on Legalizing Marijuana. What makes a republican the ability to say no. The republicans will say no to this is because it is just bad law that hurts families and children has chattle. This is being seen now as helping the children if not passed it will be marketed as hurting the children.
This is the bogus market of 205 vote no. It takes a republican to say payday loans hurt families.
Predatory phone marketing, Miss a payment suddenly you interest rate goes to 29%. Usury laws repealed which put caps on loan rates. State control of credit card rates. All of these protection were repealed by Babbitt and Clinton.
Yea this Holyoak is the King herod of the marijuana users in Arizona vote no on 205.
How can this be called legalization when the decriminalizing is still on the books and can be applied randomly from county to county regardless of this proposition which gives each county the right to do so. The counties that have no control over state mandates can't stop MMJ. This prop 205 gives each county Atty to negotiate what happens on market and supply control. Thus losing state stewardship over each county to be arbitrated by each county Atty.
YEA prop 205 stinks like no other skunk on the road you might of smelled this smell won't go away of passed.
Many of us didn't just smoke for a while and move on. We continue to enjoy cannabis and have discovered that it is a blessing for us as we age. Vote YES on Prop 205!
