Jamie, one of the worst decisions ever made in TUSD was to centralize the control of heating and cooling. In other words it can't be controlled by the individual schools. It has resulted in schools with rooms that are freezing cold right next to rooms that will blister your skin with heat. In order to shut down the AC at a school it must be done from a central location and someone must order that to happen. Hopefully that someone will realize that in order to begin saving money those school systems must be shut down. Of course if it was controlled in the individuals schools the custodian could have done it when he left on the last Friday, assuming of course he was one of those custodians who was willing to help because he knew what his fate was in the future of TUSD.
Who needs the mob these days when ruling bureaucracies help the wealthy get their way by gaming the system instead of setting off car bombs:
Arizona Election Fraud: Extreme Measures Taken by Pima County Suggest the RTA Election Was Rigged
It is absolutely astonishing that this Guy could be so utterly Stupid.
Jamie: That sounds bad. I have passed your comment on to the superintendent.
Yes, they are 'way ahead of us in civilization. Someone explained it recently: In the beginning, Canada got the French and we got the religious zealots, but Australia got the convicts. Looks like they won.
Australia seems to put the U.S.A. to shame on a continuous basis.
They don't make them like that anymore. He was a hero. There's a building at UA named after Marley. Disgrace.
This has always been a magnet for the clueless.
The only names anyone needs to know concerning this case: Raul Castro and Kemper Marley. Mr. Bolles stepped on some very powerful toes and was blown up for his trouble.
Wtf y can't u just leave them alone I know of a lot of people that should die 4what they do but they have rights and so do our wolfs help them don't kill them what is this world comming to everyone just want to kill when things go wrong
Put a bounty on humans not animals.
Thanks for posting this compilation of efforts, Jim. I also looked at Rep. Franks' comment from many angles yesterday and today. In fact, I posted the video of the entire Judiciary Committee meeting yesterday (bit.ly/AZp545), and then re-visited it today and found (and posted) the transcript of the hearing (bit.ly/AZ547). I tried to post lots of context with little editorial content.
I think besides your discussion of "incidence" (or "incidents"), you need to look at the other part of Franks' comments and explanation - his attempts to explain the (most-desired) timing of reporting a rape vs. the timing of abortions which would be prohibited by this bill, and to try to get in a dig at Democrats for focusing on the rape and incest exceptions (to his bills). (If you want to dig really deep, add in that Chabot had brought up the pregnancy-by-rape issue in the subcommittee the week before, and that Franks might have been trying to distill that into his ripostes.)
Taking all that into account, as Weigel sort of stated above, it would seem that Franks was not making a very cohesive argument for his case. The Democrats are attempting to blow it out of proportion, and his inability to articulate a coherent and plausible explanation makes it easier for people to accept the Democrats' hyperbole. (I did a Fact Check on the Franks vs. EMILYs List claims on this bill a couple of weeks ago, and it is still playing out: bit.ly/AZp524.)
oh hush Grijalva. Last I checked, 20+ people of any race aren't just let into a DC office. Why were they in there if he wasn't even there? And how about you talk to the non-latino/hispanic non-illegal folks. You'll something about the United States from them.
I see a definite correlation between the Tea Party and the Nazi
It's their thing, do what they wanna do, telling everyone who to sock it to!
Oh its sooo not my thing...
But after this tussle, it will be back to "governance" as usual.. which means working to get reelected, and not to serve the people of Arizona.
If abortion was treated like tubal ligation or vasectomy i.e. a medical procedure between a patient and physician, the "Gosnell situation" would have never existed. Defending anti-choice politicians, who keep moving the goalposts for a safe, legal medical procedure, isn't a good look on you Tucson Weekly.
^ I had the same thought! ^
