I wish I could read this column. My mother tongue is English, and, since I live in America, have studied the subject and am fairly good at it, am puzzled why, after trying to read this column cannot comprehend it's meaning because of the slanted Spanish.
Shame, I really would like to know what they are talking about.
Thats funny pancho. You made that up. Or it was your daughter.
"like so many people who work in dangerous jobs no güero would accept" -- Bull! It's the low pay, not the danger guera. Talk to any one from the Ironworkers union about dangerous work. That's one of those unions decimated by the importation of illegals to work jobs for dirt cheap.
Asking a Mexican is ok, as long as when you ask them if they are an American and they answer yes. If they come back with Mexican, then you and he can stay Stuck On Stupid!
I think I'll "Ask a Mexican", before I'll Believe an American- gringo. :)
I guess that's why the whores down in Ciudad Juarez as far back as the early 60's, would walk around the bar sticking things like smoking pipes, cigarettes, etc. into their genitals. It was the Gringo's fault! In fact, the reason Mexican illegals in general, are so pathetic is because of the Gringos! This "Mexican" (the author) must be related to Obama. Everything he does wrong must be Bush's fault. Everything the illegals do, is the Gringo's fault. Let me guess, the "Mexican" is an active member of La Raza!!!
The lady said that mexicans do not tip decently. And your answer is they do. Uh? The question was why not if. Gus, what race are you?
The difference here, according to a friend of mine, who has been a waitress for many yrs. in AZ., is that American Mexicans tip like normal U.S. citizens. but that those that appear to be ILLEGAL (you can always tell by their dress, lack of English language capability, etc.)hardly ever tip.
"no one's going to wait for a superfluous piece of paper when you're starving".
I must have missed the news of the 30 year famine in Mexico. Mexicans cut in line to come to the promised land illegally so they can afford a house with plumbing and a car. Well, who can blame them? The sob story is to get the bleeding heart gabachos all teary eyed.
Well that's 60 seconds of time that I'll never get back! What a waste of time! Maybe the author should stick to chowin' down on tortillas or something???
That dumbass that is confused in Utah is not only confused but is an asshole racist pig. You should have told his confused ass that Mexican is a nationality not a language. Those people were NOT speaking Mexican. They were speaking Spanish!!
Wait, isn't violating the laws of a sovereign nation immoral? I guess it's not if you really want to.
Such loathing hatred expressed by this columnist is palpable beyond belief. I wonder how his girlfriend can tolerate his anger. To advertise on this site, " to become a fan " of Mr. Arelleno," is tantamount to falling in love with Marquis de Sade.
But nobody comments?! LOL Nobody cares about this Hispanic bullshit prattle psycho drama.
This column is interesting, in a car wreck kind of way - until you realize the letters are all made up and are just setups for opinion.
ASK A NATIVE AMERICAN:
THE CATHOLICS DESTROYED NATIVE AMERICAN LIFE FOR 400 YEARS HOW ON EARTH COULD YOU BECOME CATHOLICS YOURSELF ? TO ME THATS LIKE A JEW BECOMING A NAZI DURING WW2...ARE YOU THAT STUPID ?
I tire of this endless vitriole. I'll wager you don't even know the origin of the term "Gringo" do you? Didn't think so....In some school systems, they have English classes, they call them "Language Arts" for fear of Offending thou. But, it's still English. My students of Hispanic descent would sarcastically ask, " why don't you have Spanish classes?" to which I would reply - " ah, we do." They would inquire why. " To make sure you learn to speak Spanish CORRECTLY. " which is true, because many, it has been clarified, don't. Ah, so, "Al Tam" above is so correct. As to your original point, why do Anglos slaughter Spanish? Simple--we live in America. English is our mother tongue and has been since we moved here (Mayflower, remember?, march westward, Gadsden Purchase, we bought the place?...ring a bell?) So, Spanish requires a little work for us, just like English needs a little work for you. It's not that easy for us, and I know from teaching your kids, it is certainly not that easy for you, too. Clear?
Mexicans haven't slaughtered Spanish any more than Americans defiled the King's/Queen's English.
