Let me handle this Gustavo.
Her's what you do Angie. You organize a contest to draw cartoon caricatures of the biggest baddest bikers that you can find. Then you get on TV and challenge the bikers to come down and try and stop you.
Just wait until you see what happens.
P.S. (That's post scripto for something I forgot) Better order a new shirt for your new husband.
When I lived in Venezuela my wife and I went to a theater and watched Return of the Living Dead. We got looks from the rather small number of other patrons because we were laughing hysterically at the dubbed dialogue which was horribly translated. Just about the only thing they got right was, "Sesos!"
Looks like a production error led to the wrong column being printed. We've got the updated version above now!
This is re- run from last week! What's up with that?
You're all correct that it would be helpful to have translations, but Gustavo is almost certainly not reading this, as his column is syndicated from his home paper which is the Orange County Weekly.
Freedom of speech is Tucson weekly specialty
Fill eyeglasses with love for translation:)

For us Gringos, it would be nice to have the definitions of the Spanish words you use.
Whose response is "flippant"? The person that points out that all people have endured struggles going back through history? Or the person that insinuates that the struggles of another people are inferior to that of their own? Modern archeology has established that humans (European and possibly African) were in North America before what we now call "Native" Americans arrived. I hope we can focus on the acceptance of our fellow humankind and not on forms of one-upmanship that might be construed from a slogan on a T-shirt.
When first letter writer refers to "the struggles of people trying to make a life here, under adverse conditions, having fled other adverse conditions, and the systematic historical exceptionalism mythology, jingoism, xenophobia and racism " is she talking about the Germans, Irish, Italians, Jews, or Hispanics?
I would like to see Mexico become a part of the United States and to see it done incrementally by incorporating the northern states of Mexico one at a time once they meet the requirements set by a committee of ambassadors from the U.S. and Mexico. Rather than have the Mexican people uprooted from their homes and states and thrown into an insecure future it would be much better to expand the U.S. Economy to include them. They could call themselves Mexican-Americans just as the Blacks call themselves African-Americans. I don't believe in fighting an unwinnable war against people that just want to make life better for themselves and their children.
For years I've wondered why the Sunday school song Jesus Loves the Little Children - includes a list of multiple colors of children, however, Brown is noticeably absent. Being brown myself- ?? wth
I like brown.
Why is the text of the purported letter writer's letter not the same as in the Orange County Weekly, the home newspaper of "Ask a Mexican!"? The tone of the letter is quite different between the two versions.
That cartoon is so racist, it really offends me and I think you are just perpetuating negative stereotypes!
Excellent answer to "old glory Gary!!
One race, human?
