Thanks to Casey Dewey and the TW team for doing such a fine job interviewing my Mother and summing up my family's history, dedication, melancholy and a certain thrill of pride having worked so hard for nearly 50 years to bring joy to so many people's lives.
I just want folks to realize that this is a gift from the Residents of Winterhaven to the Masses. We collectively pay for all the expenses regarding the Festival, which is estimated to be around $65,000 per year. There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE to get into Winterhaven and the Festival of Lights. However, it is requested that each person bring some non-perishable food for the Community Food Bank. Collection Stations will be at the Country Club and Ft. Lowell entrances. If you are coming for the Concert Show on our front lawn this Sunday evening, we will have a Collection Bin at our home at 3354 North Christmas Avenue for the evening of the 22nd only for those who enter the Prince or Tucson Boulevard entrances or slip by the bins at the other locations. Also, keep in mind it is a walk-through only night on the 22nd, so you will need to park outside the neighborhood and walk to the center "Island" area to come watch and hear Jovert Steel Drum Band play and Jodi Netzer dance.

One Heart Beat featuring Black Man Clay
I would like to thank Tucson Weekly for the article itself & passing the message of "One Heart Beat". That message is very important to all of us. Things like sharing music with others and having them get directly involved. Having little hesitation to help our community, charities, non profits and organizations in need. One Heart Beat is blessed to have so many dedicated players, dancers, singers and supporters. We do this with a team effort and that is a big part of our message. Thanks to everyone and you are all "One Heart Beat". Tony Marotta
The article is well written, and Tony speaks eloquently of One Heart Beat. But I have to take issue with the writer Chelo Grubb's choice of words when he states that "New Jersey native Tony Marotta pictures himself as One Heart Beat's manager and promoter". Tony does a lot more than merely "picturing himself". He actually does a whole lot for One Heart Beat, such as booking gigs, finding new venues, setting up and operating the sound system, promoting the group, hauling equipment, etc. We are all deeply grateful to Tony for his hard work, dedication, and professionalism.

Also, Paul and Nadia are saints for the sacrifices they endure for All Souls.

Where was Allison employed before the Visitors Bureau - elsewhere in the tourism industry?
I just love her clothes!!
Jes is great! When a woman has confidence in herself, especially when most of society wouldn't consider her attributes normal or attractive, it can be very sexy. All the haters can stuff it! I'm sure Jes would agree.
P.S. I love that frosting hairdo.
Tom is my (fictive) brother. I love him, Ina and their families as my own. Tom was a great mentor to me as well. I always strive to be like him. It is an honor to know him.
Tom Holm is a good man. I had classes with him at the U of A and found him and the classes to be very enlightening. Folks need to read "Strong Hearts, Wounded Souls" to better understand what our Native Peoples have gone through. One of his other books "The Osage Rose" was very entertaining and I hope he has more up his sleeve.
Thank you Mari for all of your wonderful work, and thank you Miz Tig; well said. I'm happy to have become a part of ArtFare. Here's to the now and thefuture!
Laurie Notaro is hilarious. Too bad she moved out of Arizona, but who can blame her.
I listen to Too Jewish every Sunday while driving to church, that’s right to church. I met my wife of 38 years in Israel and love Haaretz. Politicaly I am to the right of Rabbi Cohon but I really enjoy him and his radio show. Mazal tov, Pastor Gene Chewning.
I'm so proud of my mom <3
