It is not up to the City Council to decide which laws they wish to obey, they swore an oath to uphold and support the Constitution of the US and Arizona. Unfortunately there are too many self serving bureaucrats at city hall who had no intention of holding to their oaths, only their financial supporters.
How does the United States gain by the presence of millions of illegal aliens.? Besides the fact that business wants them for cheap labor and the Progressives want them for "Undocumented Democrats" We are so screwed but the problem is ..that we don't know it.
We live in the only country in the world that isn't allowed to enforce its own immigration laws.
They certainly need to elect someone who "is a fan" of SB1070.
I love it when people "bad mouth" others without knowing all the true facts. The courts were originally founded so that the citizens would have a place to go for protections from civil rights violators. The American court system is completely corrupt and the citizens no longer can legally petition for "redress of grievance." The courts protect the liars, thieves, rapists, con artists, frauds, and evil-doers. I continue to pray for the death and destruction of "the land of the Great Satan, i.e., the U.S." Crash and burn you evil devils........
I have never seen a traffic camera pull over an intoxicated driver, rescue a civilian, or exercise human judgement. While not all officers are perfect, our revenues are much better spent on officers than any camera. If only we could get the wasted camera money back and recall the politicians that profited from the venture that caused infringement of privacy rights and weakening of our law enforcement.
I was stuck in an intersection on Swan, with 2 other cars, a city road crew suddenly stop and blocked us from clearing the intersection. The light changed and I got a ticket, but I could not move until the road crew moved. The camera pictures clearly show the scene, but it didn't change the decision. A traffic cop would have seen what happen and ignored or dismissed it. So I believe it is about revenue.
I attended that "CHURCH" for 8 years. The pastor is a self glorified jerk, to say the least. I tried and tried to be accepted there but as a single parent, I was pushed out and treated like some kind of heathen. This church is for you if: You are upper middle class, stuck in a never ending cycle of "how to be beautiful," and enjoy the belief that you have control over other people because, "If they don't believe what you believe, you can call the police and keep them out of your church." It's pathetic and sickening. I, thank God, am still a Christian despite what they tried to turn me into.
I personally was a client at Comin Home in 2008, at that time in my life I had been going thru some difficult times, I was not there for drugs or alcohol, my wife had committed suicide in Burlington, VT so I headed west, I did not care at all about people, laws, etc. after all my life experiences I moved to AZ, where I proceeded to ruin my life by committing criminal acts. Comin Home took me in with no income, provided me with a very decent living environment. All of the ladies and gentlemen who either volunteered or worked for income were the greatest. Comin Home was well organized, well run. You could see this in a matter of days of observing, interacting with clients and workers. Not just a client myself I also volunteered my services. Mary Pat Sullivan has made a great impression on me, I respected her and the rules at Comin home interacted daily with Mary Pat and I must say the day Mary Pat steeped down must have been a grim day and grim future for Comin Home. Mary Pat Was the drive, motivation of all the military heroes who for one reason or another lived there. Mary Pat I always saw the determination in your skills and abilities to get what the veterans needed, I am so sorry to have found this article, Unless you have walked in Mary Pats shoes please do not judge her as you have no right, Marry Pat made Comin Home. PLEASE know we all make mistakes we may regret some day and we will absolutely have to live with them . They say it builds character, Mary Pat had Character, She was well like
Mary Pat can't say I would have ever expected to read these articles. I do not need to tell you how WONDERFUL and how much a PLEASURE my stay there was made because of you and your staff. I wish I could have done more. I would love to hear from, maybe there is more I can do. irishmem@gmail 802-234-1185

Jay walking, or not, requires walking. All of ya'll get off your fat asses and out of your cars and walk to a salad which you so desperately need.
Take one look at yourself.
Every ticket, no matter how it is served, is intended to result in revenue. More disingenuous BS. Stop reading at that point.
Leave K alone. The one genuine comment in the story should be noted as such.
But we are not being invaded by millions of "illegals from Ireland"!
This discussion reminds me of a terrible experience we had a few years ago with the robocop cameras when our daughter was dying and my wife was on her way to the ICU at TMC at 2am and fined $300 for making a right hand turn without first coming to a complete stop (no other cars were around). We wrote the judge about the experience and received no response. There are some good things about those cameras, but the political discussion around them has been mediocre and no one has figured out ways to address very reasonable concerns about them. At court we were informed that there are no appeals available. No real live officer would have written that ticket; a real human could see that public safety is not compromised by a 2am right hand turn at 12 mph.
The idea that MOM competes with the food bank is ludicrous. We participate in the MOM events, but we are not eligible for assistance at the FB and we share with family members who are without transportation. You might be surprised how many of us out there that make just enough money to not qualify for help. MOM has been a wonderful opportunity for us to get more produce than we would be able to purchase at the grocery. Maybe it's time for Mr. Carnegie to get a reality check.
I have no comment on the ethics of the MOM without seeing balance sheets, organization charts and board minutes. I also don't participate (Tucson newbie I don't know people in need). So how is MOM in competition with the Food Bank if the food is coming from Nogales does the FB get warehouse food from Nogales? Also on the 10 dollar donation the idea of a warehouse getting a tax deduction and then MOM "selling" it is the Goodwill model (and others operating thrift stores) is Carnegie casting aspersions on their ethics as well?
The color of an officer making a stop for SB 1070 or Stop And Frisk is immaterial the color of that officer is blue not brown, white or black. I would be interested in seeing stats on how many Asians have been questioned about their status or white redheads (illegal immigrants from Ireland are more likely in Boston but they are out there). If the Chief wants to make changes then every stop should include questions about status and anyone not carrying status documents with anything but an American accent should result in a call to BP. A few hundred calls in and the agency will advise TPD to make changes.
The public, generically, had decided that it was ok to run red lights and speed. For some of the really large intersections around town, that ended up in many collisions, often with injuries, some fatal. Bottom line, red light and speeding enforcement HAS saved lives. Leaving the fate of these cameras to the voters is to go back to the way things were, and that's just dumb.
Has anybody thought that this was an "arranged" arrest that "just happened to occur in front of the activist church". Sure sounds fishy to me. What are the odds? We all know what the TPD Chief think of SB1070.
"You will end up balancing the budget on my morning run"...Thanks Steve...
