Re: “The Skinny

The timing of Brewer's endorsement might be perplexing if there were any evidence that voters return early ballots the same day they arrive in the mail. To the contrary, there is evidence that the recurring problems with counting the Maricopa County vote come from the practice of voters to wait until Election Day to drop off their ballots at polling places.

The Brewer/Smith strategy seems to be based on the theory that the last endorsement voters hear is the one they will remember. Or let's just call it the Smith strategy: Brewer isn't that smart, but Smith is.

Prediction for this horse race: Win Smith; Place Ducey; Show Jones.

And let me complete the loop for you. Being hispanic, I reject the notion that a public school teacher should be teaching your child about your heritage.

Are their parents too busy?

Re: “The Skinny

Think just how ignorant that statement is Alexandra. So everybody that has accused someone of racism is racist?

Who is left? You? You're full of hate.

Re: “The Skinny

It takes a racist to know a racist, and Rat knows/is racist.

"Other images in “500 Years of Chicano History” for middle-schoolers include two images of women shooting guns"

The horror! Won't someone think of the children!

Barber should reject Grijalva's endorsement. She is a racist and he knows it.

U.S. jobs pay an average 23% less today than they did before the 2008 recession, according to a new report released on Monday by the United States Conference of Mayors.

Facts can be so annoying....

Why not share with us how well that trickle up poverty has worked the last 6?

Unfortunately most liberals know so little about economics...they should really stick to soup kitchens.

The last 14 years have proven conclusively that "Trickle Down" Economics only works in the classroom and Rat T's wet dreams.

Re: “The Skinny

Smith is going to win because the East Valley Mormons always prevail in such races, but he needs to study his American history. The Federalist Papers were written long after the Revolutionary War and peace with Britain. The authors did not want their personalities and politics identified with their analysis of the Constitution -- anonymity was common back then.

One would hope that some journalist in Arizona would call out a future governor on this.

Economics aren't as is proven by the current president. Why should history?

Alexandra forgets that Hitler was elected by popular vote. If not election fraud, it says more about the voter than the criminals they elect.

Re: “The Skinny

Does it say anything about the caliber of candidate vying for the Republican gubernatorial nomination that Scott Smith, arguably the most sensible among them, speaks of the writers of the Federalist Papers as though their authorship put their lives at risk? The Revolutionary War was over, the papers were written by John Jay, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton following the Constitutional Convention of 1787 in support of adoption of the Constitution, Great Britain had accepted our independence in the Treaty of Ghent in 1783. Should basic knowledge of American history be a qualification to run for elective office? Who'd be eligible?

Re: “The Skinny

"As most Skinny readers know, there's been a bit of a crisis on the border with unaccompanied minors fleeing gang violence and other troubles in Central America and crossing into the United States because they hope they'll find some kind of asylum here."

Why would most readers know that? That story has been proven to be a lie, over and over again.

Is it possible that this is closer to the truth?

Lack of money will destroy the public schools - as intended by many in PHX. Don't hold up TUSD as an example for all (try Benson and Vail) because ALL are hurting due to dishonest politicians circumventing law on the books.

Money will not fix our schools. You can't buy desire. TUSD is proof.
