Re: “The Skinny

I can understand the state not wanting to waste any more tax dollars on TUSD. I wish we didn't have to.

Re: “The Skinny

Comment on McSally: I heartily approve of her work for women warriors. That said, as a citizen of her district, I need a lot more attention to the needs of women in the civilian world and their rights and opportunities. I also need a lot more attention to the needs of our wounded veterans and disabled veterans in basic services that have been limited by the Republican Party to which she belongs and to which she gives constant support in obstructing the President. Vote for Victoria Steele!

Re: “The Skinny

Jim,
Since Memorial Day is here again, I thought you might be interested in the following. Bill
McCain has not kept faith with US Veterans
Semper Fidelis is the motto of the US Marine Corps - “Always Faithful”, covenant and salute to our American Brothers in Arms. Semper Fi is a solemn promise to keep faith and Leave No One Behind. So Arizonans (AZ) must remember the hard truth about John McCain…and his lack of Fidelity.
Armed Forces Day is an appropriate day to remind AZ voters they’ve been harboring a deception. Many AZ Republicans believe the carefully disguised information that John McCain is a war hero and Conservative. The hard truth is much less. News Media have covered for McCain for decades, but Disabled American Veterans give Sen. McCain a 20 percent rating; Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America give McCain a “D” grade for veterans’ issues.
Why? Because Arizona Senator John McCain has voted:
Against body armor for troops. http://archives.politicususa.com/2008/07/2… 5/26/08)
Against providing Automatic Cost-of-Living Adjustments to Veterans. (S. 869, Vote 259, 11/20/91)
Against more funding Department of Veterans Affairs. (H.R. 2099, Vote 470,9/27/95)
Against a $13 Billion Increase in Funding for Veterans Programs. (S.C.R. 57, Vote 115, 5/16/96)
Against $44.3 Billion for Veterans Programs. (H.R. 2684, Vote 328, 10/15/99)
Against $47 Billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs. (H.R. 4635, Vote 272, 10/12/00)
Against $51 Billion in Veterans Funding. (H.R. 2620, Vote 334, 11/8/01; Vote 269, 8/2/01)
Against $122.7 Billion for Department of Veterans Affairs. (H.R. 2861, Vote 449, 11/12/03)
Against $500 million mental health and rehabilitation services for veterans diagnosed with mental illness, PTSD or substance abuse. (S. 2020, S.Amdt. 2634, Vote 343, 11/17/05)
Against providing an assured funding stream for veterans’ health care, annual changes in veterans’ population and inflation. (S.Amdt. 3141 to S.C.R. 83, Vote 63, 3/16/06)
Against $430 million for vet outpatient care (S.Amdt. 3642 to H.R. 4939, Vote 98, 4/26/06)
McCain Supported Outsourcing VA Jobs (S.Amdt. 2673 to H.R. 2642, Vote 315, 9/6/07)
McCain Opposed the 21st Century GI Bill (ABCNews.com, 5/26/08)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brandon-frie…

But the most important truth: “War Hero” McCain sided with John Kerry on the Armed Services Committee to block or kill POW-MIA search-and-rescue bills like the “Truth Bill” (HR1147) in 1992 and the Missing Service Personnel Act (relaying intel information on MIAs to their families) in 1996.
Why would McCain hinder any legislation searching for and reporting MIA-POWs in Southeast Asia?
Why would John McCain break faith with his long-lost brothers-in-arms? Semper Fidelis? Hell no!
Remember, all our POWs were not freed as he promised when John McCain left Hanoi in 1973. http://www.vvof.org/mccain_hides.htm http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/07/21/jo… http://www.thenation.com/article/why-has-j…
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/art…

And we were told POW McCain refused early release until all POWS were free – more deception. In May, 1967 (five months before McCain was captured) Medal of Honor winner, Captain James B. Stockdale, senior POW, ordered all POWs to refuse the “Fink Release Program”. So McCain didn’t refuse! His commanding Officer had already refused! (Stockdale’s Book: “In love & War”, p. 254) All the above is public record. Look everything up; read the references. And after you verify McCain’s treachery make it a point to share the truth about McCain’s fidelity with twenty more voters. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/331…
Semper Fi to all US Servicemen and women (and sorrowfully to our lost MIA-POWs in S.E. Asia). Bill Heuisler - Marine, Republican, Tucson cop, author and Investigator - 520-403-2939

Re: “The Skinny

Thank you, Mr. Nintzel for your clear-eyed assessment of Michelle Reagan. It is sometimes difficult to parse the language and intent of this top election official.

We rely on your keen insight and your willingness to confront the wealthy and the powerful that influence our government---some say, control our government in Arizona. Our elections have become more fragile than I knew.

Re: “The Skinny

"She failed to send out a publicity pamphlet to an estimated 400,000 voters in counties outside of Pima and Maricopa."

Neither my wife nor I (in Tucson) received any info regarding the two issues. Indeed, I had to call to find out where our polling location was.

Re: “The Skinny

Speaking of government malfeasance, Governor Ducey has just added two new justice positions on the Arizona Supreme Court with legislation he signed on Wednesday. This move will allow the governor to continue dismantling the state and all its institutions at the direction of his dark money contributors, which makes it a foregone conclusion that this state will soon be a fully owned and operated subsidiary of the Koch brothers, who have apparently decided to pass on collecting 25 cent coins from all the United States and instead settled on owning the states outright.

Re: “The Skinny

“…unless you want someone in the job who is focusing on suppressing the vote and ignoring state law.”

I’m pretty sure that is part of the “job description” for the current governor, his like-minded state legislators and anyone else who is working with his administration.

Wow - the Goldwater Institute trying to keep a new industry out of Arizona? What's wrong with this picture?

Re: “The Skinny

The same can be said to you Duke. Did you shout down Hillary when she spoke with a black dialogue in the South? Or when she tried to convince some kids from the hood that her purse was full of hotsauce while we all knew it, and she was full of bs? You are enabling her.

Re: “The Skinny

Nonsense, Congresswoman. Unless you OPPOSE Trump, you are enabling him. But we all know you try to play both sides. Both sides of your rich donors!

Re: “The Skinny

Liar who? Without releasing tax records or offering any real-life policies, Trump is potentially the far larger liar. Ronald Reagan said it best, "Trust, but verify." Trump verifies nothing! He whines and insults and manipulates encounters with real policymakers. Anyone who refuses to be vetted for the highest office in our nation is neither honest nor truthful.

Re: “The Skinny

The Liary you know or the Trump that is risky, capitalism is about risk and socialist Obamaism is about dependency and bankruptcy! To the businessman, so you want the Supreme Court to be packed with pro-Union leftist anti business Justices?

Re: “The Skinny

Trump, Trump, Trump, ad nauseum. Today Trump talk was nonstop on TV "news" getting free publicity for hours and hours; it is still going on late into the evening. It seems like a media malpractice, not covering anything or anyone else except this media monster at work. Although he lost the last election, I completely agree with Mitt Romney insisting that Trump release those tax records like everyone else does, something Trump refuses to do before the election. People with nothing to hide don't do this unless they are distorting or fabricating or lying about something, and with regard to truth and values Trump makes Nixon look like a polygraph.

Please note the complete lack of class shown by Ann Day's successor in acknowledging the woman's death... as with everything Ally Miller does, she made it all about Ally Miller. The woman is like school in summertime.

Re: “The Skinny

I'll skip the lengthy inventory of Trump's glaring inadequacies and simply say McSally is doing the smart thing. I hope she continues holding off supporting Trump. The Vichy wing of the GOP will be remembered as such.

Re: “The Skinny

As a long time sane Republican and successful businessman I cannot support Trump for anything. He's a joke as a business executive, inheriting and conning his way before weak regulators and the IRS. I urge you to stay out of the GOP avalanche for him. Keep your powder dry and yourself safe for after the election, whether Clinton or Trump wins. The Congress is where to stalemate has to break with intelligent compromises. No more grandstanding. BTW I am a voting, contributing Republican.
