Re: “Desert Angel

Absolutely C dub. That way when they steal it the BP can charge them with no proof of insurance and wasting finite resources that cause global warming.

I wonder if he leaves the keys in the ignition of his truck when he leaves it to fill one of his tanks.

Re: “Desert Angel

So you are saying the tanks are there to help BP make arrests? That is brilliant! Keep up the good work.

Re: “Desert Angel

Whether you are for illegal immigration or not (I'm not), you have to admire the sympathy and love that Joel has for his fellow human beings. Not everyone out there suffering in the desert is a criminal in the sense that they are coming here to hurt others or take up criminal activity. I believe that immigration and citizenship should take place through legal channels, but I can understand how some are desperate for a better life. Can you really say that you like the fact that there are children and desperate parents dying in the desert? Those are the individuals that Joel is trying to help and I applaud his efforts.

Re: “Desert Angel

The placement of some water tanks in the desert doesn't convince anyone to try to illegally immigrate to the US. They are convinced by the conditions and circumstances they are in prior to making the mortally dangerous trek. The majority of Americans don't understand that kind of desperation, but it's an extremely impoverished soul that believes attempting to illegally immigrate should be punished by death.

What Mr. Smith is doing is leaving water in designated, legally mandated areas so that those who are desperate enough to risk their lives trying to make it into the US don't die from lack of water. Humane Borders and Mr. Smith are operating both lawfully and humanely.

Also, due to lack of imagination and reasoning skills, it seems to have entirely alluded those of you who are in opposition to the water tanks that they are known by border patrol and actually provide a means of concentrated traffic by which border patrol can anticipate and apprehend those who are desperate enough to have to use them. They are simply life saving measures that actually aid both the human life of the immigrant and border patrol.

Re: “Desert Angel

Larry, the article states if he gives them a ride he will be aiding and abetting. The fine is high and he could.go to jail. So he's doing what he can that is legal.

Re: “Desert Angel

Water in the desert does not guarantee total protection from exposure and elements. It simply convinces them to take further risks with their lives. Why not pick them up and drive them to TUCSON? Is that too much to ask?

Re: “Desert Angel

Joel has been this man you see, since we attended High School in Berlin, Germany. He is a giving, serving, compassionate man, who works to guarantee that a human being has access to the most basic and necessary thing, a glass of water. I cannot in my heart begrudge another human being, a glass of water. If you can, may God have mercy on you, in that day you see Him.

Re: “Desert Angel

As a volunteer driver for Humane Borders myself, I have witnessed the extraordinary dedication, knowledge, and skill that Joel Smith brings to our humanitarian mission. Every one of us looks up to this incredible person for guidance.

We don't take sides in the immigration debate. Our mission is to save lives.

I have a few questions for the haters and twisted souls who vandalize our water stations and call us criminals and other bad names. Do you really believe that undocumented migrants deserve the death penalty? Don't these desperate people, as fellow human beings, deserve our kindness? Have you read the Sermon on the Mount lately?

Please tell me you didn't really say " If you look at the planet from space there are no lines".
I can do a thousand words on weak shit like that, but why bother.

Re: “Desert Angel

I wish that he will put out garbage cans as well. The trash left on the beautiful deserts is all over many counties. I am a raging Liberal, but I am not for illegal immigration. I still would rather have someone seeking a future then those that buy their way in to our country, like the Chinese and Green Valley Hospital.
The benefit to those that the polititions pander to exists, or better immigration policy would have been passed decades ago. Hence the first vote by the right to allow green cards for below minimum wage. Our jobs have been lost by those same politicians. Our tax dollars and jobs are overseas, hidden in our massive corporate pirate companies. Low wages are also an effect of massive manipulation of law, passed by those we vote for.
Greed is the topic here, and the dollars are floating up. Screaming about border crossers is foolish and shows a lack of understanding that our, "Representatives", do not work for America anymore. Corporations like Amazon and Walmart now allow pirated products to grace their shelves. I recently bought gloves the said, "Designed in America, Made in China. Disgusting!!! This is where our borders need the protection. How could we survive on artificially low wages without the laws passed that allow cheap Chinese products into our country, child credit tax breaks and welfare. Our very Representatives are not Patriots!

Gonzo Sorcrachi:

I'm about as sure of that as I am sure I will be the next Powerball winner.

It looks as if you have already received a couple of responses, get ready for many more which will probably be less dignified and less polite.

Re: “Desert Angel

As to Bslap's comment up above I will add.

The coyote agents of slave and child sexual exploitation appreciate Joel's efforts as well.

Maybe the Weekly or Joel should spend a little time over in Federal Court to watch the coyote criminal trials; rape, murder, abandonment, etc. Illegal Aliens forced to "mule in" 40 lb packs of Heroin:

The industry of illegal Aliens FEEDS the law enforcement/criminal justice/prison industrial complex, provides necessary caseload for the lawyers, prosecutors, judges, prison guards, border agents, etc.

Joel is an enabler.

Present your readers the LARGER picture before you elevate Joel to Hero Status.

Re: “Desert Angel

I'm sure every construction worker who's lost their livelihood to illegal immigrants appreciates his efforts.
At least this guy is motivated by compassion instead of greed. Unlike the politicians and corporations that keep the border open to keep American workers' wages low.
