Re: “Political Theater: McSally Schedules Town Hall Just in Time To Scramble Critics

That's according to the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury, but what do they know? Whether or not it was more than all U.S. presidents combined is a moot point. He did what he did. At least you had the cojones to challenge me,

He didnt add more to the debt than all the past presidents combined if you adjust the debt increases by every president for inflation. You cant logically compare spending in the single thousands of dollars spent 200 years ago to today.

Re: “What To Do If ICE Comes To Your Door

I think this information is helpful, but "Fight Back" and a fist is a really bad choice of language and iconography to use when you're creating a flyer for someone who is almost certainly not English as a first language, and likely nor familiar with US history and the use of such icons.

It should show something suggesting litigation or justice, perhaps simply the scales of justice of even the statue of liberty. Put differently, it should focus on taking this situation to court, and getting representation.

That's all we need is someone who is stressed and misinterprets this to mean literally fight. That will not help them in any way and could even result in an incident that makes this situation worse for everyone.

Simple question. What's wrong with entering the country legally?

Why does the radical left support breaking our laws? Because they are closet societal misfits. And they have infiltrated education.

Re: “What To Do If ICE Comes To Your Door

FIGHT BACK!

Seriously? How is United We Dream going to explain it to the family, friends, media and anyone else when what they think is a simple statement is misconstrued by someone who follows the" instructions" on their flier and someone is injured or worse.

In the current politically-charged climate it is difficult at best to maintain civility and public order, and now someone is giving questionable advice of a confrontational nature to people who may or may not already have issues with law enforcement.

I understand the intent, but I this is a very bad idea.

Re: “Barely budding

Free market, not free-for-all. This initiative doesn't give a free pass to people being reckless and has reasonable penalties and restrictions that are based on scientific evidence instead of the profit driven prohibition propaganda that has misled the public and oppressed the lower and middle classes.

Re: “Danehy

What Danehy, like the American media, said about Villa is quite the opposite of what he was portrayed. Danehy is simply upset or angry that the statue of a Mexican revolution leader was erected in Tucson. While it has been over 20 years since I read into Villa, Villa did not go into "banditry" just because. There are conflicting sources that stated that Villa, the oldest of 5 children and who was a teenager at that time, shot the landowner who either "attempted to rape" or "raped" his younger sister. After killing him, Villa knew that the law would pursue him so he escaped into the mountains and the only way he could make money for room and board was to steal livestock. He would have been caught if he got a job so he kept a low profile until he changed his name from Doroteo Arango to Francisco "Pancho" Villa.

Fast forward, it was Abraham Gonzalez, a provisional and constitutional governor of Chihuahua, befriended Villa before the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution. It was Gonzalez who saw the leadership potential in Villa and persuaded him to join in the revolution-Villa accepted and quickly climbed up the ranks until he became a general.

To put him in positive light:
1. Villa prohibited liquors and did not allow his soldiers, the Villistas, to become drunk. Anyone caught drunk is shot because drunk soldiers are dead soldiers when it comes to battle.
2. Villa is literate despite what the media alleged. There are evidences of Villa's signatures. The fact is that since he can read/write, he knows that he is not well educated so he values education.
3. Villa help the poor by fighting the rich and corrupted politicians' soldiers.
4. Villa believes in giving people chances between life and death. Even the captured enemy soldiers are given chance to switch to Villa's side or face execution before putting them to death.
5. Villa did not rape girls or women. The fact is he is a womanizer and had many wives (I can't remember how many).
6. Villa instructed his soldiers to not take anything without talking to the rich owners first--if the owners don't support Villa's cause-he gives the owners to give up their wealth or be taken away by force. If owner resists, it means death sentence. Some did not resist and their lives are spared. There is one article where the owner resisted and he was shot to death.
7. Villa buys guns, rifles, cannons, and food for his soldiers with what was taken from the wealthy.
8. Villa buys food and is distributed to the poorest people.
9. Villa funded some schools so the children can have education that Villa didn't have.
10. Villa worked for ASARCO in El Paso where he lived briefly.
11. Villa was an exemplary leader that the people wanted him to be the President of Mexico, but Villa refused by saying that he was not well educated and not qualified to be President. At least, he was honest about it.
12. Villa was, indeed, a governor of Chihuahua from 1913-1914 (his leadership proves it).
13. Villa, despite what Danehy claimed about being a "crappy leader", outsmarted the U.S. military during the Punitive Expedition in 1913. Over 5,000 soldiers were pursuing him, but Villa disappeared without trace.
14. Villa's battle tactics were admired so much by the U.S. military that it was closely studied and also taught at the West Point Academy (U.S. Military Academy).

Danehy is a liar, just like Trump, and a crappy writer. Humph.

Did I mention how he added 9.3 trillion to the national debt? More than all other presidents combined.

1 of 6 men are either unemployed or in jail.
When he drew a line in the sand in Syria, Basher Al Assad gassed his people anyway and Obummer did nothing.
He overthrew Quaddafi, leaving a hotbed for ISIS.
He called ISIS the J.V. team. They proved to be a little tougher than that.
Obummer care, I won't even go there.
Yep, Obummer was a great president. And remember for 2 years he had a bullet proof majority, so don't blame the Republicans.

Teacher 55. Here goes.
Under Obummer we had the lowest labor participation rate since the 70's. 95 million out of the labor force.
Economic recovery worst since the 40's.
Lowest home ownership rate since 51 years.
11 million people now on food stamps.
43 families now live in poverty. To be continued.

Re: “Political Theater: McSally Schedules Town Hall Just in Time To Scramble Critics

Per the first comment in this thread, McSally flew an A-10 over a decimated Iraq, with bombs and rockets enforcing sanctions that most observers believe ended up hurting the Iraqi people far more than Saddam and his regime. She then took part in the attack on Afghanistan "Operation Enduring Freedom" -- the military is so good at cooking up patriotic slogans -- that energized the Taliban and pretty much returned that nation to today's barbarity, conflict, corruption, and poverty. I know, it was her job.

Whatever heroism you can find in that, good on you.

I was more interested in her position on development in our region that remains dependent on a small state university, an airbase hosting obsolete bombers, a missile-maker, and slight tourism. Our region's greatest coup was getting located in Tucson a local HQ for a company that serves the Canadian mining firms laying waste the surrounding hinterlands (in fact, Sahuarita and Green Valley are probably goners).

When the Maricopa Mafia's right-wing Goldwater institute was invited into our "home" by the nutty Supervisor Miller, legally creating problems (for now) the World View project and Tucson's potential breakthrough as a "spaceport," McSally uttered nary a word. That would have taken courage, too.

Perhaps one day our region will have another real _Representative_ besides Raul.

Re: “Political Theater: McSally Schedules Town Hall Just in Time To Scramble Critics

We live in Representative McSally's district. I hope she keeps having town hall meetings not because they are easy but because, if she wants to "represent" us in Washington, DC, they should be considered essential these days. I also was immediately amazed that she would use the word "ambush," given what happened to the former district Rep., Gabrielle Giffords.
