Re: “Editor’s Note

And the 80-20 rule they implemented sealed it's fate as the insurers were rewarded for "wasting" claims money. The law forced them to, or lower premiums. Surprise surprise, they chose the money route. How sophomoric a piece of legislation!

From a freshman President. You ignored his (Lack) of history in Illinois State Legislature. And his missing votes. Now look at the mess he left.

Re: “Danehy

Chuck is correct that public schools run by the parents and community were the most successful of their time. They were also the least successful schools of their time, since all public schools were - and are - run by the parents and the community. It simply depended on the community. And one-room schoolhouses were not abolished. They died out due to attrition.

Re: “Show Us the Money

Maybe Secretary Reagan would prefer to postpone an improved campaign finance reporting system until after she has run for reelection in 2018.

Re: “The Skinny

You can learn things you don't know from the comments section. (As opposed to the articles themselves)

" McSally's conservatism score was 43%. "

My thought is that you could get right of that.

So true chuckj, I also link the downfall to the rise of the Teachers Union. Timing is strangely coincidental.

As is yours for you see when the US took action against aggressors they were being stopped from killing. Moral relativity is even worse. They are not equal.

Re: “Danehy

There is evidence that public schools run by the parents and community were the most successful of their time. I refer to the one room country schools, sadly abolished decades ago. The IQ tests given draftees for the military in WWII (please note that there is general agreement that IQ tests measure achievement rather than potential) showed as much as a 20 point difference between draftees from the cities and draftees from the farms; those farm kids knew things the city kids didn't. The teachers had little training beyond high school. The parents were often unschooled themselves, even new immigrants. What kept the achievement high was a fixed and measurable curriculum - generally defined by a textbook - and a healthy skepticism of the need for everyone to learn at the same rate of speed. Its virtues remain to be actualized in our urban, overly administered, rigid public schools that, ignoring some exceptions (most of whom - viz. University High School - seem to step outside the box and teach each student rather than each class), are not doing well at all in terms of turning out good citizens who understand our nation.

Re: “The Skinny

McSally wont change. She's as Republican as a right- wing conservative can be. I have to give her credit for being more intelligent than the average Republican but the bar has been set very low for those people.

Re: “Editor’s Note

It would be so nice if the American people had the Affordable Care Act it passed in 2009. But no consequently, rather than implementing Obamacare as passed by Congress, the administration rewrote the law as they went along. Unions were exempted from fees, extralegal tax credits were awarded, "transition relief" was invented for preferred employers and insurance company losses were subsidized.

Just what you been smoking there Mari Herreras I believe the Republicans would love to have the 2009 ACA just where did that go?

Dear DAZ,

The United States military and intelligence leviathan has destroyed more of this earth in the past 60 years than all other nations and actors combined. Your apparent moral exceptionalism is profoundly ignorant, not to mention offensive.

Re: “It’s ShowTime!

Very disappointed with the management of our Public Access channels. (Public library could manage it better!) Nothing like doing a live TV show! 666isMONEY!

Re: “Guest Opinion

Not really impressed with this weak commentary at all.
What about the destruction by ISIS or whoever is killing fellow Muslims-Christians -Jews , etc. When they blow up something aren't they also damaging the Earth, and everything that "Allah" created?
How about some references from the Torah and Bible to help with the 'Interfaith' dialog?

It's 2017. Why are you writing about a cable access tv channel? Who watches scheduled tv anymore?

What verbosity and self promotion! This article was a waste of space. Space that could have been used for an interesting story. SMFH.....

Tommy can't even get that right. Betsy DeVos is stupid. Spoken like a true compassionate Lefty. This from a moron who couldn't get arrested if you gave him a brick and a police station window to throw it through.

Can he accomplish his "faith" without involving government? Remember that separation thing you guys always talk about? Can't have it both ways. Can you find it in the USC?

Re: “The Skinny

McSally has already shown an independent streak. Rather than go issue by issue, take a look at The Heritage Foundation's conservatism ratings for Arizona senators and congressmen. Most of Arizona's GOP members score in the 80-90% range for voting conservative (as judged by Heritage) position. Last I looked, McSally's conservatism score was 43%. Not non-ideological enough for you? Then maybe your tract is more about political parties than policy.
