Re: “Doug Ducey and Andy Biggs: "Don't Tell Me What I Don't Want to Hear."

I do donate time, money, and tutoring Al Todd... more than you can imagine. I see a lot and you really ought to do what you lecture me about. If you didn't think I addressed the issues in the article and your point about choice, is purely purely because of your myopic vision. The point is the effects of not funding so many areas for children and instead putting the money towards private prisons is so vast that for you it may appear that I am not 'focused' instead of viewing the horrible neglect in so many areas that goes on in this state of education and children in general in Arizona. It is about priorities for monies spent. Ducey and Biggs do not like the results of the audit of department safety. I don't imagine. Putting money in the corporate pockets for private prisons in more important to them. Obviously you support monies spent on prisons over prevention is so many way. It is not surprising that you think I don't comprehend.

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

Can you see the day when we start drug testing our politicians and cops?

Re: “Take the Power Back

As a former board member of an HOA, and resident, the residents have spoken with their votes.

Just because you don't have a vote (My association allowed only 1 voter per person who owned a unit - so if two people's name were on a mortgage - that unit was entitled to 2 votes - but only for each person). doesn't not mean that you can't be involved and show up to meetings and be a part of the community.

Any community would be foolish to exclude their neighborhood businesses. Any business would be foolish to to participate in the association even if they are not afforded a vote.

I am still not sure why this is a big deal, but I hope this decision works in the favor of the actual residents and prevents any potential nefarious events.

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

I wonder which politicians relative has a stake in these drug testing companies?

It is expensive, ineffective and degrading. Many of these people are at the bottom and this is kicking them while they are down.

All VA pain medication recipients are drug tested, repeatedly. Our nation's so-called heroes and wounded warriors are treated like common criminals thanks to the Drug Enforcement Agency. Every time I am tested it makes me angry, it makes makes me feel like a common criminal and saddens me to no end. I can't imagine my grandparents being tested for illicit drug use in today's VA, and I doubt they would have stood for it.

Don't treat people down on their luck like criminals. Treat criminals like criminals. Keep the drug testing where it belongs, in the garbage.

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

Way to go Tucson Weekly. You just managed to convince people that 87000 people were tested. In reality, drug tests were only give to those that checked YES on a questionaire asking if they had taken drugs in the last 30 days. 42 people checked YES. Only 16 of those passed. 54% of people did not make it through to the next round to be eligible for benefits. If it were expanded to all 87000 applicants then the failure rate would be extremely higher. Unfortunately our all knowing legislative body has not seen the wisdom to test everyone.

Re: “ACLU, ACLU of Arizona Are Going After Pinal County Sheriff, Attorney Over Their Enforcement of Civil Forfeiture Laws

If you are charged with a DUI for having a single beer (it happens more frequently than you could possibly imagine) you are not subject to civil forfeiture. You keep your car and your possessions.

If you jaywalk they do not confiscate your shoes.

If someone you give someone a ride in your car, say - a friend of a friend, and they had a marijuana seed stuck in the bottom of their shoe and it fell off on your car floor, you get pulled over for one of your license plate light bulbs burning out and the police search your car and find it - should you lose your car and all the possessions inside it?

Say that the seed was not even a marijuana seed and the police still confiscate your vehicle under these draconian laws. You would still have to pay a lawyer to petition the state to give your property back, that is, if they didn't already auction your belongings. Then you get nothing and still have to pay any legal fees.

These laws are anti-American and set the stage fto encourage our police and justice system to be bad actors. It is pure profit for them with no repercussions financially and legally.

At this point, if your think marijuana is a dangerous drug, please open your mind, exit your self imposed comfort zone and perform some unbiased research. You don't have to like marijuana, use it or encourage it, but please don't think that people should have their lives ruined over it in 2015 anymore.

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

I read the article and quite frankly don't care. We have to set guidelines in place and enforce them to try to reduce the fraud connected with government programs.

Based on your thinking one would have to say, "why hire BP agents, the President is going to give illegals amnesty anyway."

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

Apparently most of the posters did not bother actually reading the article and/or doing the math. YES, AZ IS WASTING MONEY DRUG TESTING PEOPLE GETTING WELFARE. SO ARE THE OTHER 5 STATES THAT DO IT.

Re: “Ask the Mexican

OMG!! This is certainly a shocking and a genuine Testimony i have ever
seen..I visited a forum here on the internet on the 30TH OF JUNE 2013,
after my husband separated me and my marriage of 7 years was broken down
and i was totally inconsolable and without hope because i have tried all
means to get my husband back after much pleading and did everything
possible to make sure that he comes back, but nothing worked out for me....
And i saw a marvelous testimony with this email adress
akharespelltemple@gmail.com of this powerful and great spell caster called
Dr AKHARE on the forum.. And i saw how Dr AKHARE reunited a family and
brought the Husband of a woman back to her in just 48 hours..I never
believed it, because i never heard nor learnt anything about magic before..
Not a soul would have been able to influence me about magical spells, not
until Dr AKHARE did it for me and restored my marriage of 7 years back to me
and brought my spouse back to me in the same 48 hours just as i read on the
internet..i was truly astonished and shocked when my husband came to my
house and knelt down begging for forgiveness and for me to accept him
back.. I am really short of expressions, and i don't know how much to
convey my appreciation to you Dr AKHARE.. you are certainly a God sent to me
and my entire life and family.. he did his work just as he guaranteed me in
48 hours and it yielded an optimistic result to me and i was able to get my
Husband back. right now my Husband has falling so much in love with me and
my kids like never before. This spell casting isn't brain washing but he
opened up his eyes to see how much i love and wanted him, i really don't
know how best to be grateful to you Dr AKHARE for bringing happiness into
my life and family, and now i am a joyful woman once again.. here is his

Re: “At Best, One in Eight Arizona Adults Eats Enough Fruits and Vegetables, According to CDC

I thought this problem was already taken care of in 2010.

http://tucson.com/news/science/health-med-…

After spending the $17,000,000 grant for this "shovel ready" project, we still have issues with eating our fruits and veggies?

I'm shocked.

"and to my eye the call was marginal but the end result was no different than if a traffic cop had caught me."

You may be correct but since you said to your eye this was marginal maybe an officer judgement would not have caused you be issued a ticket.

No not a waste of money. It would save money by dumping the people with illegal drugs in their systems.

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

Why not reverse it ans say if you're caught with drugs welfare is cancelled? Clinton reformed welfare in the 90s and it's really broken again.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Responsibility_and_Work_Opportunity_Act

I stand corrected. It was the Republican Congress that reformed it. And now a Democrat has exploited us again.

Re: “Is Arizona Wasting Taxpayer Money When Drug Testing Welfare Recipients?

Not near as much as they are wasting paying welfare to about 90% of the "recipients" who are scamming the system!

Molly1114, I see your point. It is rather ridiculous that you have a son that would shame and disrespect his mother by selling dope in her car.
