Democrats have told us they don't believe in walls to keep illegal immigrants and terrorists from entering our country.
But they do believe in walls at their convention...to keep Americans out.
Debbi T you are partially right, but there is no wall there yet. The wall will be built along the northern border between Mexico and the US. Assumptions are that it will be similar to the wall on Mexico's southern border. Mexico is trying to stop the flow of illegal entrants from Central America. I am not implying they are racist but they do not want these people coming through their borders regardless of where they are headed. The politicians have promised to keep the southern border safe for their citizens.
DEBBIE T this ignorant says that hermosillenses "climb their walls", No, we don't. It's a very known fact that we have a US consulate here in Hermosillo and is very, very common for us to have a Visa. Most of Hermosillenses visit US legally.
Where do you think all those weekend shoppers in Tucson come from? Yes, Sonora.
Have a nice weekend you ignorant Trump supporter :)
I have been traveling to Hermosillo for over ten years and find it very safe. As noted above "Always drive during the day, don't do stupid shit and treat people with respect." I normally stay at the hotel IBIS near downtown. It is very reasonable. As for music/nightlife I find it offers more than Tucson. I have seen many great live bands, a jazz festival, Fiesta del Pitic, Expogan. Great food on many corners of the city.
Hermosillo is very safe. I've been there, and of course, I've been to Nogales. Hermosillo seemed to be the safer of the two. Things may have changed though, I haven't been to either city in damn near 20 years.
Shytourist: its as safe as most cities in the states.
Hermosillo is mostly safe, but like anywhere in the world you should be cognizant that you, as a tourist, might stand out and become a target for thieves or petty criminals.
Always drive during the day, don't do stupid shit and treat people with respect. That is generally a recipe for a safe trip to Mexico :-)
Sonora is relatively safe but one should always be in the habit of erring on the side of caution when in Mexico. Just don't drive at night!
Lol Debbie T, you have no idea what you're talking about. You're just regurgitating banter and propaganda that's based nowhere in the realm of reality. And yes, shytourist, the fear of Hermosillo is as a result of ethno-ignorant hysteria.
A young white female who drives there alone once a month.
If you read, you'd probably know that most migrants come from Southern Mexico as well as Central America these days. Also, yes Hermosillo is very safe.
If Hermosillo were safe their citizens would stay there instead of climbing over our new wall.
Keep America safe. Trump 2016!
This article makes Hermosillo seem like a nice place to visit, but it would be helpful if the authors had actually addressed the question posed: Is Hermosillo safe? Instead, they dismiss it as ethno-ignorant hysteria.
Great article! Looking forward to my next visit.

if they want to regulate cannabis like alcohol then why do they want to place possession limits and grow limits...there isn't a limit to how much alcohol you can buy/possess? You don't get pulled over and cited for having too much beer? And there is no limit that I'm aware of to how much beer you can make yourself? Just sayin?
I bet the Arizona Daily Herald endorses Ally Miller for County Supervisor. ....and of course those remaining on her staff come August. Want to take bets on how long Timothy DesJarlais lasts? Wait, think! He's like the "Shadow" the secrets he knows.
My daughter was 16, and as close to raped as one can be without penetration, in an elevator at the U of A Student Union where she had an after school job. Sudanese refuge, who had diplomatic status. Her whole life turned upside down, and neither U of A or TPD able to help. Suicide attempts, harassment by the attempted rapest for over a year. He hid in the Sudanese refuge and diplomatic communities. Instead of being a doctor, she is now LPN. Instead of U of Michigan on a full ride she had going at the end of her sophomore year, Pima CommunityCollege. He now has a PhD. She still suffers from this with PTSD. Where is the justice?
This DesJarlais kid is obviously in way over his head and crazy Ally Miller has no problem using him for her odd schemes and will have no problem making him the scapegoat when they inevitably trace this back to him. The only fair thing to do is give him immunity and let him spill the beans on Ally. Of course this is her doing. Who else cares enough to do something like this?
Where Aly gets her instructions for running Pima County
Greetings Professor Falken.
Would you like to play a game?
How about a nice game of Global Thermonuclear War?
