Re: “Who Wants to Be a Teacher?

"..Moreover, when controlling for per-capita personal income (PCI), Arizona’s ranking jumps to 14th in the nation. Calculating these average salaries as a percentage of PCI is a common method that accounts for differences in the underlying wealth between states. This analysis also helps account for the differences in cost of living between states. It certainly would be inappropriate to directly compare a New York teacher’s salary against one in Arizona.."

Not like I was going to vote for her anyway. Just another reason not to.

Re: “Mercer Calls for Grijalva's Excommunication and the Congressman Suggests She Listen to the Pope

Remember this clueless bigot also wants to deport ALL Mid Easterners, legally here in the US as noted in a 2011/12 interview from the last time she ran.

Re: “Deli Dilemma

Another shout out for Tony's. That place is the real deal. I've been to Fortunato's before and have to agree with the reviewer. Pretty disappointed.

This woman is lowest of the low, white person trapped in a non-white body whom thinks if she just denigrates her own kind enough she will magically turn white and get allowed into the GOP white good ole boys inner circle!:-) I am white as rice and a democrat and can tell you that dream is pure fantasy, like the Log Cabin gay republicans she will only be tolerated by the racist GOP/Tea Party as long as she totes their agenda or racism, bigotry, like them Log Cabin republicans post election day if she won they tell them "get thee abomination before God back into thy closet, in her case she will get a treat like one would give a favorite hunting dog on the old southern plantation from her masters!

One Man's opinion. I enjoy Fortunato's. Great subs, meat and cheeses always fresh. Great pasta and potato salad. You want Lasagna, try and Italian restaurant.

Re: “Local GoFundMe Campaign for Black Lives Matter Ride to Help Send Five Tucsonans to Ferguson

Ok blaze, so like I said, how about using this money to train people to police their own community. This way, all the racist cops won't be in your community. You really believe cops go around shooting people for " walking in this country while black " ? That's really what you believe? You make assumptions about the police officer being a murder, well I'll assume this wanna be gang banger, wanna be thug, " beloved son, did something that warranted deadly force to be used, otherwise he would already be arrested. Anytime a cop uses force, any force, he is scrutinized to the fullest, because things like this did happen at one time in our country. You are right, my facts are distorted because I haven't followed this case, because I don't care what happened; however, I am tired of hearing of someone other than a black person killing a black person being national news, while blacks kill blacks by the DOZENS every weekend in south Chicago. I would be more than happy to donate to that if some people want to go to south Chicago and bring back some info on how to stop black people from killing little kids there. I do know that kids are being killed there, but I don't know if it's black people doing the killing, but I'll assume it is. Could you imagine the outrage if white racist cops were killing nine year old kids every weekend? After the way everybody is acting there, you think the store is going to come out and something negative? Maybe this grounded trip is a go riot and loot trip.

Blaze, was he murdered ? You don't know that. Officer Wilson has not had his day in court.

Re: “Deli Dilemma

My favorite deli shop in town is Dickman's. Great peppered jerky and of course you have to get an "ugly" steak for Sunday football.

Re: “Danehy

While this particular columnist appears to have a problem with Doug, I can speak only of his integrity and character. I grew up in the same house with him, and he's been a born leader all of his life. I'm not much into politics myself, but I do know that Doug won't have to spend anytime or energy apologizing for behavior that so many of our National leaders have to do daily. He was an awesome role model all through growing up and into college and beyond. My parents divorced when Doug and I were young, and he was the most important influence in my life. He married his college sweetheart, is in the process of raising three incredible boys, and is an avid father and husband. I'm always amazed every time my family visits Doug, to see the values he instills in his boys, and the way he treats his wife. I realize this columnist needs to sell papers, but I'd ask him to get to know Doug before he continues with his rants. He is a great man, and I'm proud to call him my brother. I realize I have a biased opinion of Doug, but those who know him best would say the same. Best of luck to all the candidates in November, but I'm pulling for Doug. Regards-Nick Ducey

Re: “Deli Dilemma

Totally agree. We moved to the area about a month ago, and we've been making the restaurant rounds. We stopped here last week, and was very disappointed. We were hoping for something similar to Defalcos in Phoenix, not even close.the meet all sub tasted liked boiled ground beef with no seasoning. The potatoe salad tasted like Safeway deli salad. The cannoli was ok, but I've had better.

You only want writers that you can control. You dont want the real truth, you want your slant. Why not be honest and clear. Oh, what does that mean?

Re: “Who Wants to Be a Teacher?

Well Tom, YOU have typed a article that got some response. I guess that YOU have succeeded in YOUR mind and in YOUR editors minds. It doesn't matter that YOU have put the proper spin and used the partial truth to do it. Right Tom. YOU made money for YOURSELF. No guilt, YOU did it for YOUR kids.
