Waiting in line to see John Densmore (The Doors) at Zia Records gave me a Best of Tucson moment. The crowd was a Tucson mix of young, older and unique...all interesting. There with my 16 year old daughter and 20 year old son, we met a woman who's most memorable quote was, "How do you make music without heroine?" She was with Cheyenne, her dog, and in the span of about 20 minutes, Cheyenne jumped on a woman in front of us, pulled a Christmas card out of another woman's purse, chewed on the buckles on my bag and tried to eat the tassels on my daughter's shoes...but Cheyenne was friendly. Behind her was Michael, the "chillest" dude ever, hipster behind him, etc. When it came to enter Zia, there was some concern from staff about the dog, so Michael suggested saving her place so she could place Cheyenne in the car. The woman's responded the dog could be stolen and there were reassurances all around regarding the unlikelihood of that...Michael almost prevailed until my daughter described a story she'd heard of stolen pugs being used as bait dogs...the dog remained and it was okay. The best of Tucson is not always in its places but its people like Michael and Zia staff who treat others with dignity and respect. It's not the first time I've seen it but every time I do I know I'm witnessing the best of Tucson.
PBS's Channel 6 KUAT is by far the best local Tucson Station!
@zebrloom: Make sure you get your votes in!
loved african thunder when I worked at the n campbell store..........would love to get a pound of it
@amyquinns001 Why? Nico's is a million times better than Taco Bell. I'm writing this for future Googlers' benefit. El Potosino, which used to be a Los Betos, is my favorite Taco Shop.
Just an FYI Clas 300 with Dr. Soren is at the U of A and not PCC.
Brushfire? NOT. place sucks
I found copper country to be over priced and the staff very snooty and rude at best. Their unorganized manner of "HELPING" cost me a 100 mile round trip for items not put in my bag. And further more the said item trippled in price when I arrived to claim it! Never going back.
Trendy place for no other reason than it's a restaurant in a modified house. Have eaten there over the past 25 years and the tastiness of the food has really gone down hill. It's a disappointment because there is so much potential. Maybe revamp with a new chef.
Worst Veal Picatta ever! If you don't know how to make it- take it off the menu!
Thanks for this information as i really appreciate and enjoy going to art galleries. I like the one in San Francisco so i decided to write about it here Art Gallery Opening – An Art Diary Description of Eventful Experiences
How can I possibly take this review seriously when you have the runner up as The Blue Willow? The Blue Willow epitomizes cafeteria food and all it's lackluster possibilities.
Not sure how you compared your prices, but you can get nice designer frames with the lightweight poly progressive lenses ( digital design even!) including anti reflective coating at Costco for under $200. Those same options at Lesco cost way more!
Where is this list?
"Dry responses" Most definitely, she is amazing. Best thing to happen to KFMA since Love Line
This definitely should have been for the Thomas Wilson DUI rap.
I never even got an email to vote. Very Unfair practices to not email subscribers-especially when they travel and have no access to paper.
It is a shame that a contest you run, you turn around and demean, not only the winner, but his listeners
If you collected everything in the TMA and put it in a pile it wouldn't equal the Rothko in the UAMA (and there are probably a half a dozen works there that you could substitute for the Rothko).
Congrats to all the good folks at Zia! They really are the best.
