Is "roily" really a selling point for guacamole?
Y'all should be thankful that this isn't yet another "ode to Hotel Congress" ... a regular source of feature article source material here at the TW ...
$9.50 for a burger, no sides. Want fries? $4 more. Maybe a beer too? $6. Meal for one, $20 before tax and tip.
This is the same price as getting a burger/fries/beer at nearby establishments like Ermanos or Pasco, both of which source as much of their food from local farms and ranches as possible. Where is this new place getting their meat from?
Does this stuff matter? I think people care about this info and want to know how much something costs and what they are getting for their money. If there is better quality food in the area at the same price point, that is significant. Step it up TW!
This 'review' smells like an advertisement.
What are the prices like? What about a real review of the food?
The TW has really dropped the ball on it's restaurant section. Do you guys get paid by the restaurants for this droll? Because this whole section comes off as an advertisement now, even the Star has moved away from that crappy concept.
The food in the photograph looks damned good!! I will definitely be trying this place. As far as "new or different" goes I don't recall that claim being made in the article. So, while I enjoy my food others can complain all they want about things that don't matter.

I agree with HumanBean. The Weekly used to be the only publication in Tucson that had actual reviews instead of laudatory pap written by toadies. It would address the excellent as well as point out areas that could use improvement. Thus, it had credibility. Now it's worthless.
Good for Tiffany. Any bartenders that refers to themselves as a "mixologist" need a sharp slap in the face.
I am usually not a fan of Yelp ratings but when they are as numerous and consistently bad as the reviews SAZ gets, well, where there is smoke there must be fire. Seems like service is the main complaint, especially towards the bartenders.
I appreciate the new format that the Weekly is taking towards restaurants/food but it comes off as more of advertisement than a review. I get it, you are trying to write about the food and the personalities behind it but that does not help the readers and potential customers who are more interested in the dining experience. You cannot offer an authentic review of the experience because you have become a platform for the owners to be at their best, not at their normal. Ideally best and normal would be the same thing but anyone who has experience in the industry knows that this is usually not the case.
Where does this leave me, the potential customer? I have to go to Yelp to get reviews of the dining experience.... Thanks.
