I would bet all the money in the world that every last person attending this "sold-out" event are friends, family and supporter's of this restaurant. No self-respecting PR firm would allow them to let even one single person they don't know and trust into this event that is supposed to shine a redeeming light on this train wreck!
I hope "Sammy" picks this guy up. They deserve each other.
Anyone who can throw a human arm in a dumpster is scum, period, point blank, jdsmith. He isnt the only one who has committed a crime and had to endure the consequences (myself included). Thats life. The disheartening part of it all is that he STILL doesn't take any responsibility for his own actions, showing he still hasnt learned his lesson. Probably because of the teeny slap on the wrist he received.
Casa Video has great customer service. I was looking for the Japanese film Survive Style 5+ on DVD. Apparently the previous copy had been damaged, so the staff on duty made a note of it and one week later it was replaced with a new copy.
I would love to see the "Chef Amy" demonstrate for the press at to how "she" makes all her great desserts -- made fresh daily according to their website. THEN have her multi-talented hubby -- internet security expert AND world class photgrapher -- set up the food photography. After all, and as he said, Amy made that beautiful food, and he shot the "pictures." THEN, people like Martha Stewart "stole them."
And to all those who have made reservations for the "Re-Grand Opening" -- HERE'S AN IDEA: When your bill arrives, pay with a credit card, and Note the Tip line as "Cash Tip" -- and hand your server their tip directly. Then sit back and watch Sammy melt down.
This is the link to the petition that is spreading like wildfire to get the Dept of Labor to investigate and hold ABC accountable for theft. Please sign, every single signature means getting closer to some kind of justice for the current and ex workers of this business.

That Samy guy is so creepy and ingratiating. His wife has the "crazy eyes" like Jodi Arias.
Hey at this point the ONLY person we have any hope with on the BOS is Ms.Miller! The rest of them are on the "county payroll" for the long haul and follow blindly what the county administrator wants.
so why hasn't the labor department looked into this??
David, thank you for presenting, what is to you, a rational argument. I will "lay off it" when these words cease to be presented on the Yahoo news website, without me doing a search. I live in Tucson, and this nonsense adversely affects outsiders' perception of my current home town. If you believe that presenting yourself as a culturally deficient person is acceptable, then do not call it discrimination when I, too, believe that fact.
Enough said on the subject.
Samy was shown on TV admitting to taking the tips. So any BS they say is a bunch of lies.
And yes, lets decide; a chef, who has worked in the business for 20+ years, has restaurants all over the world, and is known for his cuisine, or these two trolls who are doing nothing but damage control.
Ellen Miller, the minimum wage for servers is lower BUT that is because legally their tips must make up for the rest and put them at least at minimum wage. If a server's tips do not total up to miniumum wage, then the restaurant legally must compensate for that.
They've no doubt "sold out" with ringers they paid to "enjoy" their crap food & service.
The minimum wage for servers is different (and much lower) than the regular minimum wage, ABC Fail Follower.
The indian tribes gave Abramoff buckets of money to bribe congressmen. At least four dozen congressmen from both sides of the aisle voted in their favor during that time. It was bribe money plain and simple, paid by the tribes to buy influence in congress. It worked. Before Abramoff, the indian tribes had their own lobbyists, who were much less effective than straight out bribing congressmen through Abramoff's lobbying firm. Casinos are still easy targets for organized crime. I don't mean that they could be taken over by an italian "costa nostra". I mean that the indian tribes could create their own internal crime syndicates. That's the nature of casinos. Federal oversight of indian casinos by the NIGC works about as well as any other neglected government department manned by a skeleton crew and managed by a chairman, or currently, a chairwoman. The commission has no teeth. But it's not federal oversight I'm talking about, though, it's state and local oversight, of which there is very little. Back in 1988 the indian regulatory gaming act actually excluded states from regulating casinos. So the states hands are tied. I stand by my first post, it's a much more complicated issue than Danehy thinks, and it doesn't have anything to do with gettin' back at the round-eyes.
Sam got to a safe location away from the incident where he was assulted by Mr. Choke and threatened with his life by Mr. V and called police as soon as possible. What Sam called in was wrong and a crime. Its called false police report. Prove that Sam knew a mans arm was severed at the time off the incident. If Sam would have in fact not been human and had not been affected to react to seeing an arm, maybe he would have waited for police instead of "Freaking Out".
So if that was the case, who would be at fault? Would Mr. Choke come under more fire as he did in the civil lawsuit of being responsible? Would Mr V have been disgraced as a drunk who faced an uncertain fate on his military record for such stunt devil acts? Mr Choke is free and clear, Mr V was given a medical discharge with benefits for a drunken act of his own doing. No one told Mr. V to jump on the side of a moving vehicle.
I think what the article is trying to portrait is that when does a consequence ever end? The answer is never. Even after sentencing and beyond the sentence itself. Some say, "till justice is served..". Well as citizens we entrust upon the judicial system to determine that, but understand the sentence isn't the only punishment a criminal receives. This idea of "just desserts" is arbitrary, as it goes on to hunt the lives of criminals to the point where the criminal can become the victim as well. Even in crimes less severe or committed as a juvenile.
I think Sam has paid for this mistake and will continue to pay for the actions of not only his, but of all three involved in this case. Rightfully so?
I can't believe they are still going on about the amount they pay their waitstaff. It doesn't matter how much they pay them. Federal LAW states that the employer cannot take the tips unless there is an agreed-upon tip pool (and there was not).
These people are crazy. Too bad they're crazy people with money to keep this going on and on instead of learning a lesson or two.
@AsianHomeCook - I just looked at their menu on-line... it definitely looks like a good bet, I'll check them out - Thanks for the suggestion!
Mammey thinks it is not well mannered to use cursing in these posts, but it is perfectly acceptable to tell someone (me) to go commit suicide. I smell a hypocritical rat.
Re: “The Amy's Baking Company Saga Is Only Going to Get Weirder”
"When re-opened, a portion of proceeds will benefit a charity organized to bring awareness to cyber bullying. " - Yes, it is called Amy's Pockets.
