Re: “UA/Biosphere 2 Researcher Killed by Drunk Driver

i met raphael for the first time a year ago when we were on a ua panel together discussing sound and the environment.
his ideas for the future of biosphere 2 were exciting, especially where the integration of sound was concerned.
earlier this year we were on another panel at the blanced/unbalanced conference and afterwards we spoke extensively about (artificial and natural) sonic environments, how they connect us to the greater world and ways sound could be used at biosphere 2 to foster those connections.
we even brainstormed on ways to amplify the sounds of the giant "lungs" which circulate air and share those sounds with visitors.
it was the sort of wide-ranging conversation which is all too rare and we agreed to revisit the topic later this year.
i am grateful we had a chance to meet and speak when we did.
learning of raphael's passing is a tragic loss and his presence/ideas will be greatly missed.

Re: “Arizona Court of Appeals: Medical Weed Patients Cannot Sell to Other Patients

Section 2 Article 13 of the Arizona State Constitution - their shall be NO law that upon the same terms does not provide equal protections to all class of citizens, business, and or individuals. The ruling by the court is in violation of state Constitutional rights. These biased judges just infringed on our rights, instead of looking at Jeremy matlock case in whole there biased interpretations of the law are not the law in itself it's very clear and obvious who voted NO on proposition 203. The AMMA and the medical marijuana LAW was drafted to PROTECT medical marijuana patients and their caregivers not the dispensaries or their agents.

Re: “Arizona Court of Appeals: Medical Weed Patients Cannot Sell to Other Patients

Patient to Patient is really the only way Medical related therapies using cannabis can be implemented. Like the story said the dispensaries owners are lottery winners in the retail Marijuana market. They have little if any knowledge of using Cannabis or physical ailments. The main question is what is you ailment? Next question is you want to feel muscle relation or do you want to feel up and active? Then it is the steer to new products Vaporizers shatter edibles sodas kiddy candies. Then there is the carnival pricing, punch card, daily specials, instant messing on extra discounts if you respond within the hour. I wonder the carbon footprint is on a ounce of pot. the ridiculous high electrical costs and during the summer in a grow facility. The drive across town for and deal on an 1/8 the amount of Air quality damage chasing hourly specials.

I an clearly see why the dispensary owners and members of law enforcement want to start a Dept Of Marijuana. They know better than anyone else the sham they are perpetuating on the Medical Patient. Safer AZ is giving classes where you can work in the cannabis at all levels with a 1 day course and $200.00 they now state you are certified to work in the Marijuana Industry. I understand Dave just sold the intellectual concerns that puts him right place for a position on the board and to select what certification process will be mandated.

The Public relations firm Marijuana Policy Project or "MPP" representing the dispensary owners & law enforcement is a go with the highest bidder as admitted by the owner. If legalized we are out of business so make it while it lasts. This is the mindset so pervasive in Arizona's MMJ program Legalization will open the flood gates to huge amounts of different kinds of Marijuana products available to relax and limit the THC to trace amounts charge fantastic amounts in license and taxation. These places with have every last penny of disposal income the mentally challenged medically dependent and addicted resulting in a devastation not unlike Atlantic City of today.

The State of Arizona nee to come up with a medical standards on testing administrating the patient care and overall reporting to the state AZDHS on patient success or not and collect a data base on therapies and their success or failure. We don't need legalization we need a Medical Marijuana that works.

They should hang out at the MGM Grand and have a "Bunch of Maroons" party during the weekend of the Pac-12 Tourney.

Re: “Danehy

Wow, where does one begin with David w's comment?
I'll try to be simple for obvious reasons. I grew up in a working class family. Both parents worked, my dad 2 jobs. We never had a lot of money, but were happy and lived a middle class life. That's basically how my wife, myself and our kids made it also. I've never blamed the wealthy for my situation. Really, our fortunes are not related. Where I have a problem with the 1%, and particularly the Koch brothers is not with their money or my lack of it. But their lobbying power and those financially like them have convinced our legislature and supreme court that how they spend their money is considered free speech. If wealth is speech, 99% of this country is speechless, poverty stricken and held hostage to the voice of those with the silver and their sheep like advocates. The Koch boys and their ilk own our government. I'd like to have a stake in this game, and a level playing field.

Re: “Body Identified After Fatal Train Accident Downtown

Cole drank hard liquor every morning with his coffee. Maybe his judgement was impaired, but none the less, Coles girlfriend blames the guy who was with him, when they tried to beat the train. Instead of pointing the finger at someone else, you should own up to your own stupid decisions.

Re: “Media Watch

Oh yeah! One last comment for everyone saying what a joy Scheer is and that ACE is not a joy to be around (@ODogg and @Wildcat Joe) ... for the last two years ACE has spent probably $10K per PAC12 tournament for a suite at the MGM Grand and a crap ton of free liquor and food for his loyal site members. Has Scheer or Encinas or any other bum ever done that for their site members? You jackasses pay more than I do for your memberships and get lousy information and what else? Some free crappy swag? I get grade A information, free shirts, free memberships, free money, and yes, free booze. Suck it.

Re: “Media Watch

Morons love to latch on like leaches when ACE gets a prediction wrong and then ignore the other 95% of the time when he gets it right. 17-18 year old children are sometimes unpredictable. That's why Kameron Chatman decided to betray the trust of the Arizona coaching staff, telling them he was about to commit and then randomly deciding to be a bench bum for the far below mediocre Michigan Wolverines. Sometimes there are dozens of moving parts in a recruitment and a solid commitment becomes a transfer going elsewhere. Lastly its pretty god damn hilarious that Gabe Encinas ran with a story that he had no damn clue about. He saw that Fultz was visiting and then proceeded to fabricate all of the details surrounding the visit like his idea that Kentucky is the leader for Fultz when they haven't even offered yet and he seems to have little to no interest. If he stole information from ACE more effectively then he'd know that Arizona will be pushing for a commitment from Fultz next week on the visit. Would they do that if Kentucky was the prohibitive favorite? Likely not. He also thinks that there won't be much roster turnover moving forward. Apparently he thinks that players are not allowed to leave Arizona early for the NBA. Anyway, you all are basically idiots. ACE may not be a kind hearted Mahatma Ghandi type person but he sure as hell gets the job done right and knows what he's doing. I'd rather be a winner and an asshole than a loser like Scheer any day. Later losers.

Re: “Rep. Jeff Dial, You Are a Terrible Person

Hi Mr. Madson - I have been working since I was 11 years old. I had to lie and say I was 12. I washed dishes in a truck stop for 20 hours a week, 10 hours a piece on Friday and Saturday night. Throughout my middle and high school years, I always had a job. I actually had a full time 2nd shift job for the last two years because I wanted a car that nobody was going to buy for me, and I got it. Graduated on time, went to a community college and managed to get my degree in less than 2 years even though I had a drive that from my home, to work, then to school in the evenings totaled 150 miles round trip. 49 hour work week, 24 hours of school a week plus drive time - I am not, nor have I ever been lazy. I was stricken with cancer when I was 31 years old and because our wonderful government is run by people that think like you, getting disability benefits is such a long and tedious process. Social Security - THAT I PAID MY SHARE.
For two years, I went through chemotherapy and if it was not for those cards, I would not have eaten for those two years. With zero income and rent of $950 plus like any other American, I had other bills, I was awarded $174 a month for food. Fortunately, by cutting out non-essentials, my savings paid the bills through those two years and that card allowed me to eat. I don't believe I deserved the looks I got and the comments I could hear behind me in the line, but I ignored them anyway.
You want to know how to cut down on fraud? Have the clerks ask for an i.d., just like they should on credit and debit cards, and if it is not the person on the card, then don't honor any transactions. That simple little step in the process would weed out about 75% of it.
I also saw the line where you stated "then you will use the card we give you." So, I guess that means you are one of the people I should be thanking and feel indebted to, since you gave up your hard earned tax money to a free loader like myself. So, thank you, Mr. Madson, for giving me $2,088 over a two year period so that I could eat while I was being a lazy drain on society. I know it would have been better if I was a non-resident of this country who never paid a dime into the system and is given benefit after benefit even though my mere presence here would be against the law, but we are all thankful that we have men with common sense like yourself to keep things straightened out and hopefully, if it ever happens to me again, you can make sure that I am embarrassed further by having to flash a neon card to get my less than 50 bucks a week of groceries to survive.
I never considered myself an exceptionally bright person, but life lessons that I think most adults would have naturally learned ( like finding out people's situations before throwing out asinine judgements of them ) and how to treat your fellow man, would have been learned by a certain age, but it still astounds me that people like yourself make those same mistakes over and over.
"Mistakes are nothing but proof that you are trying. Unless they are repetitive, then they are just proof that you are dumb."

Seriously? SELLING Weed to people who arent LEGALLY able to get it - Of Course that would be ILLEGAL. What happened to common sense people? Like selling alcohol to someone who cant buy it... same same.
