They closed down the only Tucson one on Ina that I know of
Not voting for him.
Yet again Safier is being a Sanchez apologist. First it was the consulting contracts that you had no problem with whatsoever, and now he made an honest mistake…just a "rookie error." The fact of the matter is he has served as a superintendent and as a school administrator for many years back in his previous district. This wasn't just an oops I messed up. This is something he knew and chose to willfully ignore. The problem isn't he made a mistake, it's that he has now created multiple situations where he has demonstrated a lack of trust. We expect a much higher standard for ethical behavior from the leader of the community's largest school district.
Gomez is also far from coming out fine in this one as well. Why did she email Dr. Sanchez in the first place? What could she have possibly been trying to accomplish? If she wanted to be judged strictly on the merits like she said, then she would have never contacted him in the first place. She was using her relationship with the board president to put herself in a favorable position for the job with the superintendent (and it worked). She also asked him to keep it a secret--putting him in a seriously compromising position. It was absolutely inappropriate of her to behave this way. How is she going to have any credibility with staff at Myers/Ganoung?
Oddly enough, my mother posited that the curved chunk missing from the top of Picacho Peak must have been bitten off by a giant Gila Monster - this observation notwithstanding the fact that she never saw this movie.
I'd like call a truce everyone. With Hamas and Israel firing missiles at each other for reasons that most of us don't even understand, what if we stop firing missiles at each other, missiles that only places like leave Taco Urbano and other small family owned restaurants in the crossfire. No matter how lame the review is, we should not submit our discontent towards the review method- that is an editorial issue. We don't want to see dismembered burritos and enchiladas buried beneath the rubble of our ideological conflict due to trivial issues like websites and online status, either. While we were arguing, the cooks at Taco Urbano probably made a fresh batch of six different salsas for the patrons.
Can the Tucson community agree that when a review is posted that we don't post a comment until we have eaten there? I'm sorry to those who I had online conflicts with, (Mike, vegans, et al). I know that we all can do better. By even making a vegan stand I know that one is a person of conviction and a committed advocate of the Earth.
The real issue here concerns the restaurant that a real person owns. A compassionate, thinking, proactive fellow human which has poured their entire self into the creation of this restaurant. Let's give them some room.
Why don't you just go and eat there first, Mike, before attacking their tech department. I think if you went there you'd realize that with the iPad ordering they've got their shit together. Maybe they just haven't got around to the website because they're trying to get their food trip together first.
Manuel my Boy, you are so easy you're almost free. I'll be brief. For someone who got his panties in a wad over my playing the revisionist card, you sure do livein the past. Once again half of what you said was a so called history lesson. History. As in the past. I'm still waiting for you or one of your other left wing loser pals to answer my question. Tell me ONE ecominic policy that your beloved president has proposed. It's close to a week now and all I get is dislikes ( which I love ) not one single answer. I could go on Manuel, ripping you to shreds but for several reasons I won't. One, you're starting to bore me. And two, I don't want to keep you up late reading what I have to say. You need your beauty sleep and I want you to be at work on time tomorrow. After all, someone has to pay for my Pima County retirement check and my social security. Sleep tight, Manuel.
I really dislike the Shanty. So many better choices Downtown.
I walk down that underpass nearly every day and evening and it is lit, no problem. As far as the video goes, it has more to do with the sensors in the cell phone (low tech) trying to adjust to the change in lighting.
So if you're qualified to be a principal, and your family are dedicated public education servants in higher positions, you need to move out of the area to get a job? I"m just saying, Tucson is a small town when it comes to things like this. Dismissing relatives just because their relatives may not work very well.
Mylob - LOL.
Progressives are filleted on the grill right now. Six years of anti American free economy. Look at the mess they have created around the world by being wimps.
Not worthy of power. Tired of blame and excuses. Bring back America.
And why is it so DARK in the tunnel? Because the city of Tucson has shown itself as unable to maintain the broken light fixtures since the tunnel opened 4 years ago. Sorry to be critical but maintenance on the tunnel and its surroundings has been very spotty and poorly managed. The fact that the lights need attention has been known to the city since the beginning of the year. Looking forward to riding the streetcar as often as possible but also hoping for better maintenance of the infrastructure.
I've attended DL over the years and here's an explanation from Pamela Powers from her Tucson Progressive blogsite: http://tucson-progressive.com/2014/07/21/d…
This is serious business with Grijalva and the hiring of her Mother-in Law. I suggest that the Board conduct an Official Inquiry into the matter to confirm or not want has been reported in the Press. If confirmed, those who misled and lied to the Board committed fraud and, in the least, should be fired. What role did the TUSD Legal Department play in this matter?
Did he check this person out or just depend on what he was told? The first story that came out was something about this Gomez person could sue if she wasn't hired? I don't remember the exacts but I thought it was a bit strange.
Changes need to be made or they are going to continue going down the toilet.
Geez CW... you're not too bright.. Thanks for proving the point of my original post.
I don't give a fig that's you're an "Independent" with "axes to grind." You're still going to vote for Republicans. Every. Time. In fact, I hope you fully embrace the giant size tin-foil-hat-wearing brand of conservatism... it makes you irrelevant politically because you will always vote for the far right fringe and that will help the nut jobs you support win GOTP Primaries and make it far more likely Democrats get elected.
I'll give you a little History lesson. The Republican Party (and the conservative movement) stopped being the party of Lincoln, T.R., Ike and even Barry Goldwater when they got in bed with Southern Evangelicals... look it up it's called the "Southern Strategy." Conservatives in the 21st Century are like the proverbial lobster in the pot... you're all but cooked and don't even know it yet.
I am not the one acting like a 4 year old on the internet attacking a person for making a comment. I made a comment about what I would like a restaurant to do. I do not take anything personally that is written online.
I support mom and pop shops in Tucson, many that have a online menu. One does not have a online menu, but does have a Facebook account that has their menu. Facebook is free. You do not need to be a corporate chain to have a website. Also, Chipotle is not the only "Mexican" type restaurant that serves vegan friendly food.
People just need to calm down. It is not like I insulted the restaurant owner's mother.
I cant wait to throw up in it.
