Re: “Messina

Kissma Gritz is spelled wrong under the photo caption. It only has one S in kismA. kismA gritZ is the correct spelling.

Re: “Messina

A friend of mine joined this year. She loves it! Can hardly wait to see a match. Thanks Irene. So great to see the quirkier side of Tucson, not to mention a story of female empowerment. Second article isn't it? Ahhh...gotta love the Weekly... best in politics, best in human interest, best in Derby...

Re: “Messina

Study or no study, I think the important thing here is that grown-ups are going to do whatever comes naturally to them: Whether that's with one person or with several, so long as they're doing it safely and with other consenting adults I DON'T CARE.

Legislating and enforcing 'morality' is not only stupid but quite impossible. As long as they're being safe, let 'em nail eachother as often as they want. Hell, next time the hubby and I get bored...

"A study at Bellarmine university concluded that swingers marriages are generally happier and more stable than those of non-swingers-supporting the basic premise of the article."

Its not a scientific study its an online survey!!! You cannot draw any defendable conclusions based on that.

1) self selection 2) the sample size of a small population is hardly enough to compare it to a sample size of a huge population such that they can draw these conclusions 3) what is the average length of their marriages - did they find any 70+ year old together for 50 years type of couples? how long did they follow these marriages? 4) What is a marriage if you can boink whoever you want? sound more like a legal arrangement with benefits 5) polygamy is illegal. its not just illegal for men but for women too. yet a swinging marriage seems less sacrosanct than an outright polygamy at least polygamists make commitments and don't sleep with people that are regularly sleeping with an unknown amount other partners

As a personal opinion, the exposure to diseases just make it gross.

Re: “Messina

The real issue we now have in the US as a society is that many marriages are not stable. A study at Bellarmine university concluded that swingers marriages are generally happier and more stable than those of non-swingers-supporting the basic premise of the article.

If moochie wants to form a gated development that prohibits swinging-well that is his right-but I sure wouldn't want to live there. I also don't want to deal with leaching on public services created by folks like Moochie. The sad fact is that children of divorce are far more likely to wind up on public assistance that those from stable marriages.

If by calling names you mean "stupid or fool" then I would not take Conway's take on O'Reilly's show seriously...........

Re: “Messina

I guess I'm deprived, but I find that comments have gotten more civil in the last ten years, as people find that they are quickly given a thumbs down and ignored. They seem to have honed their writing skills over the years, too.

But, what's to stop someone from creating a totally fake FACEBOOK entry and going forth? I don't WANT a facebook account, so will no longer comment. Also, I will no longer read the comments, as why bother, when I can't add a new thought.

Re: “Messina

Thanks so much for writing about this issue. One can only hope that we are evolving to a new and better place regarding the internet communications systems. But then perhaps letting it all hang out is the order of the current day, and we are finding out what the population does actually think, aren't we? Perhaps this is a necessary corridor toward more honest civility. People need to learn to manage the thoughts in their heads as well as the ones they share with others, anonymous or not. But that is perhaps another article entirely.

I was very involved in bodybuilding in the late '70's-1980's when women's bodybuilding was in its infancy. Sorry to see the old myths of women & weights are still so entrenched.

This is an inspiring article as usual. You find the most interesting and out of the box people to offer us all a fresh new perspective on what is possible. Thanks again for bringing attention to this sport and another way to a fit and healthy body.

Re: “Messina

This gym is as advertised. I was very, VERY, intimidated to walk in but have never felt unwelcome for a moment. I am not the average weight lifter build but everyone in the gym is as happy for my accomplishments as I am. I cannot imagine a better fitness program. I would encourage anyone of any physical level to find the closest Crossfit or better yet, Crossfit Works. Thanks, Jenn, for a great holistic experience!
