These awards are like those given out in pee-wee soccer. They are numerous, and everybody gets one just for playing.
Radio Limbo was the best station Tucson ever had.
Thank goodness a new spirit has arrived. KXCI has become a poor exuse (and boring) for community radio and adventures in broadcasting. I wish this guy luck.
Finally...a reason to ride on the Folleycar around downtown. I'll be the one wearing LARGE headphones to block out the noise from the other person on the choo-choo.
Too bad they don't have a signal that reaches my home or work area. I would definitely give this station a listen, they seem to have their thumb on the pulse of my music preferences. I wish them well whether I get a chance to listen or not.
KMSB's news presence would have looked "significantly more professional" when it was an independent operation if Belo had actually invested in the product and hired a production crew that could handle live broadcasts competently.
Interesting format for KWCX, considering that most of the demographic in that area are farmers and ranchers. I remember when the KWCX hit the air in 1975 or 1976. It was a big thing for Willcox at the time.
98.1 KTBX in Tubac which is I think also owned by Ted Tucker.
How many people care about terrestrial radio these days?
Rumor has it that it's a better possibility now that DirecTV and AT&T have merged.
Is it true that Directv is adding Pac 12 next week for AZ opener?
I worked with Brett ("S!ick and Brett tha Man", after "The Houseparty", on http://Power1490.com )...best partner I ever had. We were the last morning show before they changed format...had A LOT of fun...and got away with many things on-air (and off-air). I always hoped he and I would do another show together...
And Ms. Germano didn't have a Midas managerial touch- just ask some of her current & former employees. Many of us are "former" for a reason.
You're just jealous that Shuster looks better in a cheerleader sweater than you do.
Take off the KOLD Cheerleader sweater and put down the Pom Poms, Shoe.
KOLD hasn't been "...a consistent No. 1 in the market ..." for more than a year which is why you haven't referenced the local Nielsens for even longer than that.
So happy for you Randy! The Vibe has been kicking butt with an understanding of the format and the Tucson Listeners, Slow Jams is the perfect fit and look forward to the new home!
When Clearchannel became I heart whatever, I knew nothing good would ever come out of it. It just makes sense that Dub found a new home on a much better station.
DavidW has done more research to back his point than John Shuster has done during his entire tenure for this column..
‘The 213 months without global warming represent more than half the 425-month satellite data record since January 1979. No one now in high school has lived through global warming.’
