Mojo did occasionally make reference to Detroit. Not constantly, but it was clear it wasn't a local show. He couldn't reference local things going on, places we all know, etc, like other stations (and like he did years ago). When they would cut in with local news, weather and traffic, it was disjointed in that you could tell there was no communication between Mojo and our local reporters. The show lacked that local news/info connection with listeners.

What I have found is that the audience that listened to him years ago is more likely to listen to 94.9 and the like, as they have aged since their KRQ days and aren't as into that 20-something pop music anymore.

Every song that Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra sang are Jazz tunes.
These are two of the most popular and highest selling entertainers of all time. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like them. They took Jazz and made it mainstream. Jazz is more popular than anyone gives it credit for. I made a career out of it. Just sayin.'

that was never a best buy building that they were in. It was a patio pools that converted to the studios with a bar next door. Best Buy has only been at wetmore. there used to be a grocery store where the savers is but it was never a best buy center.

Not the former "Best Buy" building. It was the "Best" Products store. I worked there while in college.

FWIW, Tucson listeners never heard Mojo and his staff make a Detroit reference on My 92.9 as this reporter states they did "all the time." Custom content was delivered for the Arizona audience each day that contained no references to Detroit. Perhaps this reporter was listening to Mojo's iHeartRadio app feed instead of the local radio station on which he is reporting?

One of the best things I can bring to the Dan Ryan discussion: He was the genuine article. Not a fluff head as many "anchors" today have become. You could bump into him on the sidewalk or in the produce section, and he'd return your greeting and not become "bothered" by your intrusion. He, LOVED Tucson, and shared that love with all he had contact.

John Schuster...ten, twenty more years into the future, Dan Ryan will still hold his "Best of" title for many in Southern Arizona.

AZPM is included in the ratings, although I am not sure about the other station you reference. PM markets are more broken than diary markets. You are pending your radio ratings on only a few people that carry around beeper sized monitors. Radio is probably one of the least trustworthy advertising methodologies out there.

It should be noted that stations NOT subscribing to the ratings services usually are not included in the ratings reports. Various formats fall into the "not reported" category, such as KUAZ and KVOI in the news/talk outlets.

Im thrilled with the Vibe. Its at 4.4 overall, its best showing that i can remember. If it gets into the 6 plus overall ratings area they may have to change signals with another station. 97.5 is very limited, city grade signal only. Maybe 107.5 could trade places?
Im not saying that would happen but if ratings keep going up for the,Vibe that could very well happen.

I also called 92.1 FM and suggested they flip formats similar to the vibe. Their station is 2.7 overall. It would make sense, their signal is way more powerful in coverage than 97.5. Its a waiting game. Give it 2 more books and we will see if the Vibe is hype or a real deal that is catching on.

Said it before and I'll say it gain. In a few years local radio and tv wont matter. Its a dying industry that is being overtaken by new technology . Their audience is shrinking day by day as people find other, less commercialized ways to get news and music.
