The Top Tour was one of the most meaningful and important things that my husband, a Vietnam veteran, and I have ever done! The benefits of Top's work, to Veterans, family members and the Vietnamese people cannot be measured! Kudos to Jess DeVaney!
I just heard Aaron Pickering is leaving KOLD this week. Another one bites the dust
Who wants to bet Journal wins this one, regardless of fcc rules.
Rat T, who r you, their mother?
Both of you idiots nok it off.
@ Timmothy - Well, at least I can spell Timothy, you idiot...
Jose...we (boomers)got the $$$$$$. Merchants want our money. How you doing moron.?
@ Sonoran Winds: Actually retailers do not want baby boomers - as that demographic is too old, as evidenced by your newspaper/transistor radio habits - and are thus wise enough to ignore morons like you.
I have a transistor radio and I get the damn newspaper thrown on my front walk (most of the time) every day.
Call me a Dinosaur if you want, but I'm the Baby Boomer demographic that retailers want!
I've seen the book, both are mentioned.
The low power FM owned by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe is KPYT.
John C. Scott is such a loser and snake oil salesman that he has no place being included in the local radio market. Wake up white people!
FYI, Calling Dawn Avalon a criminal is really over the top. The Weekly shouldn't allow that comment to remain. Just goes to show how low this rag has become and why it was sold to 10/13 Communications last month. Time unravels truth about people. In Tucson, with so many liars and evil people, you learn truth by comparing lies. John C. Scott stretches truth so much on his show, you can't believe anything he says. He's been through many stations over the years and that says a lot about the man. He's now at the lowest rated station and pays to be there. Chuck Aubrey has been arrested for a firearms violation and assault on a peace officer and Randal Howard was charged with tax evasion. In 2013 he was arrested for indecent exposure when he was caught flashing customers at the Frys supermarket on 22nd. Is he nuts?
"Phyllis Ehlinger, who was connected to radio properties in the Old Pueblo up until a few years ago"
Because she died Sunday, Feb 19th 2006.
Also, I would agree that if the book does not mention John C Scott it is regrettably incomplete.
What I would buy is a recollection of the Tucson Press Club during its heyday. Heck, just a collection of Gridiron Show programs would be awesome!
It should... John C. Scott has been a fixture in Tucson Radio for YEARS!
AKA Bill Randal
John C. Scott has been a fixture in Tucson for many years. He SHOULD be included in a volume like this one!
AKA Bill Randal
Does Jackson's book mention John C. Scott and Ed Alexander?
I'm sorry Clement. That was directed to "Checked and Balanced".
Clement, that is unsubstantiated and is a disgusting way to speak about a man who has mourned the loss of his wife way too soon.
He has been very lucky to find love again with Dawn. That kind of love, respect and compatibility is so rare.
Shame on you.
Radio question: There is a new DJ on KHIT 107.5 at night.
Is she actually there? Or is that another pre recorded / syndicated program?
