‘The 213 months without global warming represent more than half the 425-month satellite data record since January 1979. No one now in high school has lived through global warming.’

I'm happy to see her go. She was a terrible journalist who preyed on mentally ill individuals and pandered to low brow intersts. I would be surprised if this were the only reason she got canned, but apparently nobody reached out to KVOA for comment. She was clearly defiant and entitled.
David - I tried to find a story where NASA announced that temperatures have been cooling the last couple years. All I find when I search is that 2014 was the hottest on record, and that the oceans have been slowing temperature rises. I would love it if you could point me to this fantastic story. Thanks
"Go ahead but NASA announced Monday that temps have dropped the last two years."
Come on now, David. Why and cloud that issue with things like facts?
Sue the hell out of them. Get a good (greedy) lawyer and go after them.
Kvoa has a history of this kind of crap and it's time they get nailed for it.
Can you say "Hachet Job" boys and girls?
KVOA is behind the times and so left leaning, that I don't watch them anymore. This whole debacle says a lot about the company.
Go ahead but NASA announced Monday that temps have dropped the last two years.
Don't bother to make excuses.
Can I just say this is a station who employs a climate change denying meteorologist?
Sorry, SonoranWinds, but your statement is completely inaccurate.
Why else do you think Shuster hasn't mentioned local TV News ratings in this column in more than a year?
"According to Mendelson,..."
"Well, according to Mendelson,... "
"At that meeting, says Mendelson, ..."
Well, at LEAST you confirmed the facts of this story with Multiple sources.
This is weak, even by YOUR standards, Shuster.
This is a blatant smear job.
Shame on you. Shame on your Editor.
BTW, readers, I looked it up. The firing occurred more than 2 months ago.
Do you file your stories via Pony Express, John?
And you wonder why KVOA's ratings are in the tank...
Once again proving the media can be manipulated.
Traveling Man..Consultants hapened to radio. Bunch of know nothng but sales radio owners hired consultants to program their stations and these consultants sell the same thing (format) to different stations all over the country.
Someone who knows and loves music and is capable of programing their own show doesn't have a chance against the corporate mentality.
Remember how fine radio was when FM first hit ?
for good local radio, the only real option in Tucson is KXCI. However, the Cave out of Benson, KRIM out of Payson, and a really good station out of Wilcox are alternatives
Doesn't syndicated programming only harm the employees of radio stations in the long run? According to this article this particular show is on 108 radio stations. Meaning 108 people who once had a job at their local radio station have now been replaced by an automated/syndicated show. And there must be several dozen syndicated programs out there for the many different formats. I travel for work and always hear the same programs (coast to coast) on a variety of stations. It is getting terribly boring listening to traditional radio. What ever happened to fresh and and fun local radio?
97.5 is a far better station anyway, looking forward to continued slow jamz on Sunday nights
Slow Jams is moving to 97.5 The Vibe
I listen to ESPN while working because of the repetition of music on KFMA. What bothers me the most and what may be hurting KQTH is the obscene amount of commercials they play vs the actual content of the show. I understand the need to pay the bills but it's out of hand. You hear commentary for a few minutes and they again have to break for commercials. Also, some of their content is due to lack of on air presence and personality. Take for instance, Soccer Talk on Saturdays. The host talks in monotone with no inflection in his voice. I like soccer and FC Tucson but this show may as well be talking about the finer points of embalming. He is killing the show and the listeners by not having any on-air personality. Radio in Tucson is in trouble for sure.
