Re: “Media Watch

This is one crazy day. First I agree with AZ/DC about Keith Moon and we decide to bury the hatchet. ( And not in each others heads!!) Now I agree with Timmothy about 98.1. I also concur that the Weekly doesn't know much.
Must be the heat !!

Re: “Media Watch

98.1 KTBX rules!

I would also recommend listening to the Vinyl Confessions, Bat Country Radio, Hex Induction Hours and Search & Rescue programs on KXCI. I'll be honest though, I do not care for much else on this station. The stuff they play on most of their other programs are either great cures for insomnia or just plain grating. But, of course, opinions are like...well, you know; because of that YMMV.

Re: “Media Watch

Forget the commercial stations and tune in 98.1 fm. no talk, no commercials .....all music.
Songs you don't always hear on programmed radio.
Obviously the Weekly doesn't know it exists, but then what else is new.

Re: “Media Watch

Looks like Paul Cicala at KVOA has been outed:

Apology is not adequate. Hillary apologized for Benghazi and then lied continually. Not adequate.

Re: “Media Watch

John,

I totally will miss Bobbie Jo Buel, but I believe you attributed someone else's quote to me.

Also, I'm not the Star's assistant sports editor; I'm not even in Sports.

Re: “Media Watch

Buel, who declined to be interviewed by the Weekly" That alone shows you how smart she is.

Re: “Media Watch

Apparently he'll succeed Guy Atchley eventually. Interesting.

Re: “Media Watch

You're getting a good man in Pat Parris Tucson. He was outstanding in St. Louis Blues and Cardinal fox Midwest broadcasts. We will miss him.

Re: “Media Watch

The only good one listed is Mike Rapp. The others all suck, especially James Harris.

Re: “Media Watch

Happening today in LA is the Worldwide Radio Summit (WWRS). What's the point?
Used to attend my fair share of "radio boot camps" back in the day.
What are they going to discuss? How to make voice-tracking better?
Cuz that's about all that's left of gutted radio stations.

Re: “Media Watch

Good news that Justice is back where he belongs. He is railing on trump like a champ. But best part is putting two Tucsonans in that slot together. Rapp goes back years on KLPX. He and Justice have ten times the brain power and entertainment value as Garret Morris or whatever his name is on the AM station.

Hmm. You say Zach Clark was out on maternity leave during the NCAA Tournament. Sure you didn't you mean paternity leave?

Re: “Media Watch

I used to listen to Jim's AM radio show until he started tossing in political commentary and soon it became clear he leaned to the right. Too bad. And with that I tuned into other programming. Jim, if you're going to espouse Rush like views and wish to keep your audience, you should have presented the other side of the argument as well.

Re: “Media Watch

The advantage of AM is that in the car, doing yard work or walking around the house with a radio, it is the easy way to listen and there isn't much competition. If I am going to stream something, then I have all the choices in the world, so why bother listening to little local Joe Blow Schlock?

Re: “Media Watch

Sonu Wasu left because the news organization at 13 is half assed and the pay is terrible. New "reporters" get a barely livable wage. It's exploitation. No wonder so many do 2 years and bail.

Re: “Media Watch

OK, expect to get hammered for this, but am I the only one who is sick to death of the eternal interruption of normal programming during the NCAA "March Madness" madness? Frankly, there needs to be an alternative channel for CBS broadcasting while this nonsense is going on. Yes, I am a U of A alum. No, I don't care about the NCAA basketball insanity!
