Re: “Underwear Party

Totally agree with Erin Jaye. Climb out of the 70s and stop body shaming.

Re: “Underwear Party

Apparently Irene didn't take much from Mari's Body Revolution cover storyin the March 20-26 issue.

If she had, maybe she would have thought about not immediately starting this blurb by injecting every reader with anxiety about their figure, making them question whether or not they're in 'good enough' shape to attend. I mean this blurb is supposed to be promotional, not alienating... no? How about "Whatever you did or didn't do to get ready for pool season, shed your clothes and have a great f*cking time"?

Now excuse me while I finish my ice cream and try on the hot dog underwear I bought for this party.

Re: “Mars Madness

Hardly a day or week goes by when I think of all the wonderful Bradbury stories I've enjoyed over the decades and how much I miss having him here with us in this plane of reality. Thank you Ray for all the wonderful entertainment!

Re: “Miming to the Music

Why has City Week "PICKS" become one item? And this one has run for 3 consecutive weeks. Is this a sponsored page now?

Re: “City Week

I did not grow up in Tucson. Instead my adolescence was spent mostly in California. I was thrown out of my home by age 16 and lived on the streets. During this time I came to the same conclusion as Mr. Austin's, people really do not care about the homeless. Since then I have straightened my life out and accomplished a number of great things. The experiences from my youth have certainly made me more altruistic. Although I don't do everything that I can to help at the moment, I do at least make an effort to help. Ultimately I would like to do more, like Mr. Austin. His efforts are exploratory and inspiring.

Re: “City Week

"It is believed that the infamous 1930s bank robber John Dillinger used this room before he was arrested in a Tucson neighborhood...." May I ask: B Y W H O M? Certainly not by anyone who knows the first damnthing about those events. These kinds of preposterous little lies are glibly tossed off only by those wishing to hype the hotel. "Some believe..." is always a tipoff that somebody's trying to blow a forest fire's worth of smoke up one's skirt. But it's in print, and it stands. It will be picked up by future writers and passed along ad nauseum as gospel until it finally becomes "true".

Re: “City Week

'Tis the Season for JAZZ
Thank you for the great article, but I would like to clarity some very important items. TICKETS are $20 adults, $15 students/seniors, children under 12 FREE. You incorrectly stated seniors are free. We would hate to have a crowd of angry seniors at the door. Not the holiday spirit we are looking for. Also the TJI Ellington Big Band did not perform in Chicago this year. They performed in NYC, Fullerton & Monterey CA twice, most recently in the Monterey Jazz Festival.
Tickets are available online:
Intermission will consist of desserts. Raffle and auctions items will be on display. Every seat at Berger PAC is GREAT. It is located on the campus of the AZ School for the Deaf and Blind.
Questions call Scott Black 971-6694.
