Re: “Not Going Anywhere

The answer to world poverty and oppression is not for everyone to move to the United States. There are probably 3 billion people on Earth just as deserving as the people written about in the article. Obviously they can't all move here. More poor people are born every year than currenly immigrate to the United States.
Besides, why is the United States a safe place to move to? The rule of law. What does illegal immigration degrade? The rule of law. Whoops!
But the folks who write these articles get to feel good about themselves without actually doing any hard work and that's what liberalism is all about.

Re: “Not Going Anywhere

If I were a citizen of a foreign country and I wanted to move to the USA why should I go through the trouble and cost of legal immigration when there are all these gullible cities offering defacto citizenship for breaking the law?
Why? There is a good reason Tucson has become a political and economic backwater, truly we are the Detroit of the southwest.

Re: “Not Going Anywhere

The Tucson Weekly should read these comments and take note:

In 2006 This commentary on this kind of "border" story got 99% approval; now the results are almost reversed with an approximately 95% approval to 5% disapproval.

You'd THINK the Weekly just MIGHT want to do a "balanced" story illustrating BOTH sides of the issue; but of course they won't. They won't because it would expose the lie that all those who want to protect the border, are racists!

What about it Weekly?

Do you want to report news and real public opinion?

Or do you want to continue to spew outdated propaganda?

Don't you realize that Margo Cowan and Isabel Garcia have exposed our community, including illegal aliens, to incredible misery and hardship?

Don't you realize the "Raza Revolution" has lost?

Re: “Not Going Anywhere

Stephen this mess has made it harder on families like yours that did enter legally. We can not reward law breakers as Mr Obama has done. If it takes a wall, it takes a wall. I don't really care who pays for it, but right now we are being over run.

Re: “Not Going Anywhere

I am the son an great grandson of LEGAL immigrants to the United States. I am so sick of our leaders not enforcing our immigration laws, and people granting "sanctuary" for people who are here illegally. Stop aiding and abetting this, please. Make it easier for people to gain citizenship legally, make it quicker, if you think we can and should, but stop honoring people who are currently here illegally. Defend our citizens and our borders. Other countries do so routinely; we should, too. I'm not in favor of demonizing immigrants, otherwise I'd be a hypocrite. I just want our leaders to do their duties and not turn a blind eye to illegal immigration.

Re: “Not Going Anywhere

I just don't understand why people feel that they are entitled to citizenship without going through the proper channels. Is that asking too much? What makes them think that they're better than people who came here legally? There are thousands of Mexicans here legally. They're the ones who really should be pissed. And believe me they are. I worked for Pima County for 14 years and I know a lot of Mexican Americans who came here legally and agree with me. I'm going to ask a small favor. When you hit dislike at least have the cojones to tell me where I'm wrong.

Re: “Not Going Anywhere

MORE propaganda from the local, left wing, pro communist, "pro raza" Open Border community that has spent the better part of 3 decades (remember the "Manzo Project" Margo?) "aiding and abetting, enticing and inviting and otherwise encouraging the illegal entry of impoverished Mexican citizens for political and economic exploitation."

Working for the demented nightmare of Aztlan; Feeding the endless appetite of republican business for "Cheap" labor willing to work twice as hard for half as much money. Decimating the wages of legal local worker citizens, or holders of Green Cards, the majority of which are "hispanic" or of Mexican origins.

Guess what Margo?

As I told you last summer at the Trump rally: your side has lost.

Your side is going down.

Isabel Garcia is "going down" in U.S. District Court next summer. Read this:…

"They're the golden kids."

Indeed they are - they are worth over $10,000 per year per head of confiscated tax dollars to liberals. They are the economic driver of Tucson, the government.

Come to Tucson. You're welcome here. The Mayor might even give you a key to the city. And bring some children, TUSD needs to fill the seats.

"America is a country of immigrants, and the tremendous contributions DACA recipients and their parents have made through their sweat equity gives them a right to be in the U.S., Cowan said from her downtown office of the Pima County Public Defender"
America is not about equity it's about equality everyone gets a shot at life but the chips lay where they fall they made the choice to come here illegally or overstay visas the consiquences of those actions are 100 of their own doing again equality > equity

Re: “Suffering The Blues

I love these people that "don't understand" their insurance until after they get in a wreck. With our proximity to Mexico you always need the Uninsured and Underinsured coverage. And my insurance company required a signature on a state mandated form as far back as the 1980s. She might want to check her story.

I would agree that TPD should investigate and cite the driver for leaving the scene. If she had plate number she could also turn it over to the enforcement side of Motor Vehicle. They should give her the name and insurance company of the vehicle's owner.

But once again government entities do not work together. It appears that they do not exist to serve the public.

Why is that?

The Tucson police department are a bunch of low IQ-lying, slanderous, cowardly, hired stooge; subhuman scumbags that only protect and serve themselves. And the city of Tucson is an incompetent embarrassment.

I knew Byrdy in Albuquerque NM back in 1998-99 when Donna Rowe was running Youth In Transition. I am currently homeless and much older than Byrdy. I wish her the best and hope she finds her way. I am currently in 12 step recovery, got Two Bachelor degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology [to work with YIT before Donna Rowe ("Momma Donna") passed away]. To Byrdy, I would say, remember the good, forgive the bad, and pass on the love Donna gave us all...that is the path laid out before persons like us.

Re: “Sex Language

I have always been offended by the way our culture turns sex into violent and disgusting terms like fuck and eat pussy. Fuck would be OK, if it weren't used 99% of the time to mean something violent or hateful you might say in a moment of road rage. Eat pussy is disgusting. I much prefer sucking cunt. Cunt would also be a perfectly good word, the equivalent of cock, nothing to be ashamed of, maybe even something you would use proudly, provocatively, like men use the word cock. I'll never forget the instant hardon I got at age 20 when my girlfriend asked if I would like to suck her cunt. I confess it was also too much for my virgin mouth, and I didn't take up her offer. It has taken many years, and quite a few bold women, to help me overcome my male programming. I wish more women would take back the word cunt, and not let our misogynistic male culture ruin it.
