Terrible service and mediocre food. I ordered a "patty melt" which consisted of a slab of beef and a piece of cheese on toasted white bread. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Chile rellenos in the Tucson Area rated according to the Homeland Security Advisory System with three word descriptors.
Birriería Guadalajara: not microwaved enough. Green
It's disgusting and the service is awful.
Overated burgers and service with a frown!!
I would never spend a dime at Lindy's-terrble!!
Don't waste your time eating there! The service is slow and the employees are not friendly! You can get a better burger at In'n Out"!
Overall this restaurant boasts a TASTELESS Menu!.
My first hint that this would not be a pleasant dining experience came when my so called cup of Matzoh Ball soup was sampled.
Ugh! In the cup was a tasteless broth with a few bits of chicken and vegetables.
The matzoh ball looked and tasted like a bleached out tennis ball.
Thank goodness I only ordered half a pastrami sandwich, nothing more than a thick portion of the meat jammed between two slices of rye bread.
One of my friends had to send back her chopped liver sandwich, because it tasted spoiled.
The only enjoyable feature of the dining experience was the very personable young woman who was our server.
Save your money by purchasing the real thing in the ethnic aisle at your local supermarket.
I was very excited about going to Burger City for lunch. I'd read a good review in the Tucson Weekly's "Cheap Eats". But when myself and some co-workers arrived there, a lady met us at the (unlocked) front door with a frown and "We're closed." I peered about the room to see a dozen patrons of various ages happily enjoying their lunch.
The lady must have seen the puzzled look on my face, so she repeated, "We're closed."
That's it. No explanation, no apology, no nothing. Just randomly closed on a Wednesday at noon. WTF?
I have to agree w/ JW. My experience was similar and lengthy. My "Prime Dry Aged" New York strip was tough and under cooked on the first attempt, then overdone upon being brought back. The service was mediocre and our server was very unknowledgeable. Our tab for two was over $165 (including 2 glasses of warm wine!)
I've been there many times, never left without buying at least three drinks, heck, even ordered food from them every now and then... They have a two drink minimum for karaoke singers, and I was still on my first one. I rarely drink, so I usually order soda. First, when I got there, there were 4 others sitting at the bar, none of them requiring anything, and the bartender was moving around the bar. I realise she had things to do, but after making eye contact with her a few times and speaking up a couple, I still stood there for almost ten minutes before she served me. Then, when I got up to sing my second song with 1/2 of my drink still there, Tammy, the karaoke host, gave me the mic, but before she would start the song, she called me back over to her. "Have you ordered your second drink yet?" she asked. I told her I wasn't done with my first one yet, but yes, I would be ordering a second. Her reply: "Well, technically, I'm not even allowed to let you sing until you've had at least two drinks." Affronted, I assured her that I would be ordering my second, then she finally let me sing. When I was done, I went back to the bar to finish my soda, but the bartender had dumped it out! I guess that's the way they treat people there... Especially if you're not a big money maker for them because you mostly just drink soda like I do. Not to mention the way that, even though my karaoke slip was the third up at the beginning of the night, I mysteriously wound up being 11th on the list... and skipped a few times to allow HER FRIENDS extra turns. I recommend going someplace else in the neighborhood, such as Driftwood, Fenderskirts, or Al J's, all down the street and much better.
I'm happy to find this review as I was thinking of trying this place again. I will not bother!
Hacienda Del Lago was really good about two or three years ago.
Good enough I recommended it to friends. For some reason their chef left and instantly they went into the toilet. Too bad as there is very little in the Vail area besides Montgomery's biker bar from hell.
Nico's is the best restaurant since Cione's Pizza closed for good.
I think this band is awful! It's like Karaoke. Now they have this screeching horse face singer too! Dopey costumes. It's not a real band. O'malley's should get some good bands.
We also went there (the east side location) with a group of 16 and we were not treated well at all. The manager was rude and downright nasty when we complained. Too bad this restaurant won't be around very long because their food is good.
This place is over-rated and over-priced.
They don't have parmesan cheese. I sprinkled the cheese brought to the table onto my pasta, it ruined the dish because it was so salty and strong. I asked what it was, after all, Italian restaurants provide you with parmesan to accompany your meal. NOT HERE! It was Romano, so I asked for parmesan and was told they don't have any. It's on the menu; chicken parmesan, veal parmesan. What are they using in the kitchen? The sauce that Mama Amareno makes is so-so, nothing to write home about. I make better marinara.
This place moved to Country Club and Grant, me thinks I won't bother returning. What kind of Italian restaurant doesn't have parmesan cheese?
Slow service and they were out of everything decent. Food I did get was not good. Place is loud later in the evening, feels more like a bar than a restaurant.
ate there several times, service was slow and once my chicken was undercooked. Never go there again.
this place absoloutley sucks, and the food is below average. they have changed their hours of business, and it makes it impossible to go their and eat. most families eat between 7 and 9pm and they close at 7pm . what type of restaraunt business operates on a 2-4 hour schedule. i dont recommend this place anymore to anyone. the staff is rude!
We ate at Panda Village the other night. When we entered the restaurant, it was empty which is usually a bad sign. It was. We ordered iced tea which had a funny taste, I sent mine back. Then when our dinners came, the curry beef was filled up with water chestnuts which is odd for a curry dish. The 'three delight' was terrible, the chicken was spoiled. The hot and sour soup was OK but not exciting. We are unlikely to eat there again.
If you're talking about that place on 22nd Street in Tucson, AZ. I ask: Have you been there lately? The food (Buffet) is usually room temperature and the staff usually has a very bad attitude. The one server never seems to wash her hands and I have in the past seen food being cut up on one of the tables in the dining area.
As for "decore", the place is dusty and dingy. Not a place I would go if I wasted to be sure of not becoming sick later on.
Yuck! My wife and I ate here last week... here's the rundown:
*Multiple hairs in the the tempura shrimp roll
*Sushi too warm... like it had been sitting out for a while
*Overpriced in general
...can't really think of any positives besides the sake buzz.
The place has all the ingredients to make a great restaurant: beautiful location and surroundings, new building, well decorated, great atmosphere. It’s just missing one thing: service. Basic service: water, bread, order taking, timeliness, and follow up. I would expect a restaurant claiming this high caliber of service to be on top of the basics. The staff seemed under qualified to work there. We had reservations at 7:00. We didn’t get our salads until after 8:30. In the meantime, our table of 8 devoured about 8 bread baskets and we had to ask for everything from the butter, oil & balsamic and even water. I can’t even blame the service on how busy it was. We were among 5-6 tables…
The food was good, but exceptional by no means. With prices higher than McMahon’s and Fleming’s I was expecting magic. My 45.00 rib eye definitely was no masterpiece. Save your drive and money.
