Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

I had high hopes, based on advertising, but you should become Leary about the quality of the food and venue when they will not mention it anywhere on their advertisement. As soon as a purchased the tickets and they provided information on how to get there, only then did they say it was at the el parador. The food there is absolutely atrocious and the food at the theater was worse, which I didn't think was possible. If you advertise candle lit 3 course meal, I should not be looking forward to a budget banquet frozen TV dinner or taco bell for some type of improvement after the show. The acting was funny, but by no means is the show worth the horrible food (which the actors elude to also). Could not have been more disappointed.

Re: “Sky Bar

Okay- To start off I have been going to Sky Bar since it opened and until recently have always been treated to a friendly and comfortable environment.. The open dj./mic night has always been a good place for Local Artist to be herd. I have spent a lot of money in this establishment.. drinks, pizza, tips, etc.. a place to take friends.. always a good tipper. Always treated with respect. It wasn't until the night of 1-29-13 @ 6:30pm that i felt that i was unwelcome there by The Bartender Raul, and A women bartender that would not give me her name.. though she said she was the manager. . I am a regular customer, Sky bar is on my way home. The pizza, dollar coffee, and fresh ginger-ale make it the spot to stop before a long trip home after a day teaching dance classes and capoeira at Breakout studios near by. So I am there a lot.. never really say much just eat and enjoy my coffee. About a year ago, I decided it was best for me to give up drinking and although hard a first came to terms with the fact that I Am A Alcoholic. So when friends invite me out, I have a cup of coffee or a ginger-ale instead of a drink.. With signs on the door and over the bar stating that they sell dollar coffees and ginger-ale till 2am along with other non alcoholic drinks and food from Brooklyn across the way, have always thought i was as welcome as everyone drinking alcohol with me. When RAUL the bartender batted his eyes after the first time i ordered coffee and a ginger-ale I brushed it off as just a another bartender having a long night, so i tipped him more for the trouble of having to make me a drink that was harder than opening a beer. This was the first occasion that night, when i ordered a second coffee he ask if I was not sure if he could get me something else, assuming he was trying to serve me an alcoholic drink " a beer or something" I declined said I was fine with my coffee, tipped him again for his troubles, and went home after enjoying a slice. The night after my next class me and a couple friends as usual I stop in.. I order my usual drinks, a coffee and a ginger-ale, the bartender at the time a female states to me they raised the price on the ginger-ale to $2.00 from $1.25 telling me that they raised the price but the signs have not been changed. I paid it no mind and ordered a couple times and tipped but noticed an attitude from the bartender when I ordered a couple more drinks, this was on saturday 1-26-13 around 6:00pm. The next night I had classes would be Tuesday evening 1-29-13. around 7:00pm I walk into Sky bar greet friends, go across to Brooklyn's to order myself a slice and return in to get my usual drinks. Raul, the closest bartender near me saw me come in.. But instead of taking my order went to the female bartender working with him "the manager" and talked to her after looking at me. I then waited for him or her to help me at bar, for approximately 30 mins I wait.. I see friends of mine order.. get there drinks, people that walk in the bar after me get there drinks it was obvious they did not want to serve me my coffee and ginger-ale. They made eye contact several times but still no service.. when I saw that my pizza arrived from next door, I knew for sure they were purposely ignoring me. A friend of mine pointed at me to service me.. I take it they were too good of bartenders to stop what they were doing to serve me a simple cup of coffee and make me a non alcoholic drink. Too good to do there Jobs maybe? After seeing my slice of pizza arrived and that I was waiting longer than everyone else at the bar.. I decide I would have to go up in front of the register and ask them to serve me. No one asked for my help, I waited again with my wallet out in front of Raul And "The Manager". Raul acknowledged I was their but was busy doing writing something down and could not help me let alone look me directly in the eyes. "The Manager" walked up to me and gave my friend a drink in which he did not order and placed it on his tab after he left the bar and handed it to me.. I refused it and try to proceed with my order after her confusion. Being that 40 minutes had passed and my pizza was cold when she finally took my order I told her my situation and said I did not want to wait again.. Ordered seven drinks ,two ginger-ales and five coffees, when she herd my order she told me I would have to wait, helped three other patrons with there drinks then got back to me, the coffee in all three containers was out, so she smiled and apologized said I would have to wait a long time.. So I ordered five expressos instead of the coffees. By this time everyone that was with me at Sky bar noticed my treatment. After finally getting my drinks. I tipped the bar tender $11.00 for having to do something it was obvious to everyone around me that Both bartenders had a problem with. After finishing up a couple expressos and my pizza slice, I went up to the female bartender and asked for her name, she told me she did not give her name out.. So I asked her for the name of the other bartender that ignored me. She refused to tell me, Then threatened me saying that if I asked her anymore questions she would have me kicked out. So I asked her for the manager and she replied " I am the manager tonight," still refusing to give her name so I could complain about both of their service and my unequal unfair and unwarranted treatment. By two ungrateful bartenders to good to serve coffee to a regular paying customer that tips well always. You would think in the age of twitter and social media they would have the foresight to know that you can't get away with treating people unfairly so easily. You never know how the voice of one mistreated customer can have on a businesses reputation.. These things permanently reflect the business you represent. I can't really say for sure exactly why I was treated differently. But know i have never been anything but a good patron, customer to both Sky bar and Brooklyn pizza.. drinking alcohol or not. I enjoy the pizza, coffee, ginger-ale, hero's and atmosphere, so along with all the rest of my tips.. my 11.00 tip for tonight, i would like to apologize for RAUL the bartender And his female counter part "Ms. Manager" tonight. They put a bad mark on a really good place. I hope they treat every paying customer with respect.

Re: “Vaudeville

grapla.blogspot.com/2012/09/tgif-weekly-ca…

or

As most of you know. I left DT Tucson Vaudeville on Congress back in June. I was running that spot doing most of the bookings and also had my TGIF Friday night. The Owners and family-in worker(s) were just lazy, had no clue about anything, rude, and were not on top of their business along with not caring about the music scene as much as me. I was doing all the contact, booking, setting up work while they sit there and profited. Whats positive about this bad situation is learning the business ins and outs and what to do and what not to do. This made me a better person/DJ/Artist and outstanding business entity.- Grap

Re: “Century Gateway 12

Don't bother calling Fandango for ticket prices. The recording says it will give the theater's phone number but it doesn't. Century Gateway is also not in the phone book. So don't bother with this theater, you will be very frustrated and get no info what so ever.

Re: “T.G.I. Friday's

Got a salad that consisted of finely chopped up lettuce and little else. Not worth the nearly ten dollars I paid.

Re: “RPM Nightclub

I think this is 2 weeks in a row that RPM has had live music listed and both times - no band at all. Last night, no band (I drove cross town to see) and when you call to ask if "there is actually a band tonight" you get a recorded message telling you "the person you are calling is not available." REALLY? Get it together RPM!

Re: “The Fathead Shop

just recently went to fatheads and ordered a piece custom made. Nothing to say except that they did not honor their work which was flawed (actually so bad designed that it wouldnt work) long story short dont expect anyone there including the owner thats a real asshole.

Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

i dont know how the actual experience is because we never actually went there, but we had tried to plan an event with a group of friends and had called to set it up for this weekend. once we found out that several of our friends would not be available we called back to cancel our reservations, within 2 hours of setting them mind you, and were told that we would be charged anyway. the person who we talked to was rude and insisted that all reservations are a final sale. that there are no refunds or cancelling allowed. i dont know what i would be refunded for, i havent received anything yet, but they think they are allowed to charge me over $400 because we need to cancel a reservation.

Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

This was horrible! I cannot believe I paid $39.00 for this! I wanted my money back. Very, very bad. If you want to see a show go to the gaslight theater! This is a low budget performance!

Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

What a joke! Everyone at our table was staring at each other in disbelief, thinking it had to get better, but it didn't. The writing was horrible, the actors lacked talent, the costumes looked ancient and frayed. The only joy was in laughing at how bad it stunk. Don't waste your money, seriously.

Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

First of all it shouldn't be called a theater, you were placed in a large room with a small stage. The tables were round so you almost broke your neck turning to watch the uber cheesey show. There was extremely blinding light that was in your face while you ate. The dinner was unsatisfactory, portions were small and had no flavor. The overall experience felt very cheap which is unacceptable at the price they charge. Find something else to do in town.

Re: “International Wildlife Museum

I've learned that under the guise of "conversation, preservation, education" this place is a creepy museum of stuffed animals that did not die naturally but were shot by "big game hunters" for pleasure and profit. I stupidly took my kids here not giving any thought to what I'd be walking into.

Re: “The Loop Taste of Chicago

Food was fair and the service was worse... Much worse.
Save your money, or better yet, go down the road and eat at J Marinara's!

Re: “Solaris Restaurant

wow talk about BAD service, over priced... bad bad bad, I went in with my children and right away got the cold shoulder. It took the waitress well over an hour to even serve our salads and appetizer, and when I ordered shirly temples for my 3 kids (ages 2,4 and 12) she brought them all in wine glasses... for a 2 year old! they were out of some main greek dishes and after complaining about the wait the manager did not even come over to check on me. I went on 2 separate occasions because I beleive in 2nd chances and both times were very bad experiances!

Re: “Las Cazuelitas Event Center

I would not recommend the cazuelitas event center. I had my wedding there in April and the service was horrible. The contract we signed was not followed as promised. The wedding cake that was supposed to be included in the package was made out of frosted wood. Who in their right mind has a fake wedding cake. Tried to call and complain but the owner was not available. The staff assigned that night could not believe it either. To top it all off the owner is my new wifes family. If that's how they treat family imagine what they do to those that are not related. As of today they have not called to see how everything went. They don't deserve the one star I gave them. Maybe a quarter of a star.

Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

Not even worth reviewing! I was also there on Valentine weekend and ended up going to eat at another business after. Show was tacky however I will say I enjoyed Trixy. The food was less than inedible, they offered two drinks you can't get more of anything even if you ask. They serve frozen cheesecake factory cheesecake (the only okay part of the night). FOR SURE NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THE TIME!!!!

Re: “Stadium Grill

Horrendous! I walked in, was not greeted nor seated for 5 minutes until I sat myself. The only waitress in there had acknowledged me, yet done nothing but sit down and eat her lunch. After I stared her down for 4 whole minutes she brought me a menu, still neglecting to say a word to me, as she walked back to her lunch to resume eating. Quickly I decided what I wanted, a full ten minutes went by before I walked out. Good thing that disgusting, lazy, rudy waitress didnt bring me a water; or she might have had to get up and take it back once I walked out. I will never step foot in there again, and advise others to save their time and money. I'm a waitress, that is unacceptable, she should be fired.

Re: “Armitage Wine Lounge and Café

Overpriced wine and the worst hummus I've ever eaten! The brie appetizer is okay, but I wouldn't eat anything here unless it's happy hour, the food just isn't that good. I guess I should just say that it's plain bad.

Re: “Magical Mystery Dinner Theater

Horrible! Maybe we were expecting to much, but it's not worth $39 a ticket, the show took close to an hour to start after it's scheduled time. The whole show was very amateurish, the "actors" served as the waiters, the food was just disgusting, I too have no idea what that white sauce was nor what the heck that bland rubbery rolls they tried to pass off as chicken. I attended the 11/13/2010 and was one of the people that walked out. Don't do it listen to the reviews, I'm not one to walk out, so I don't waste my money but it was too much to handle.
