We went for a birthday celebration with some out of town friends. It was the best thing we could have done. Grrrreat time.
Tucson's best kept secret! Tremendous fun in an intimate setting with incredibly talented entertainers! An experience not to be missed!
This was a HILARIOUS show! Glad I saw it! I read some reviews beforehand and I was especially worried about the price. Turns out whoever wrote it was mistaken. For the price of the ticket, it was a great deal. The food was good and the show was "its-so-funny-I'm-crying" funny. There was also a lot of audience participation, which was very organic and fun to do. I'll admit that the show was a bit goofy, but that was the charm of it. The actors were perfect and seemed to enjoy performing it. If you want a serious production, this might not be for you. However, if you want to laugh at gags and have a fun time, this is the show for you!
Things are really changing at Stadiums! A long time NW Tucson resident who used to drive downtown to hear live music now not only loving the last two weekend bands at Stadiums, but planning to bring friends! We have always had great service and I love the french fries...happy hour great with a new beer on special each month. But the last two weeks we all stayed for the band, they were a-w-e-s-o-m-e! Tuesday nights they have open mic which is a riot! I have heard some pretty lame bands here in the past - but that is definitely in the past! Stadiums is our new Friday night hang out!
Purcell Galleries of Fine Art, established 2004, is located in the historic artists' village of Tubac, Arizona. Featured is the contemporary realism of Roy Purcell. Love this bar! Great Music, Bartender makes the best drinks, and the owner is HOT! Nicest bar in the area.
El Camino Royales--the best! You shouldn't miss them. Good music to do Lindy Hop, East and West Coast.
Great Bugers! Pitchers of long island iced t's... Sex room fantastic.. I got drunk with Vin Diesel and arm wrestled him... The owners name is God. The club has a very large stone thrown on the patio...
Great singers, Funny, Lots of energy, this would be a great date, or something to see with your girlfriends. FUN!
I've never had bad service and I have never ordered the same thing twice and I've found everything to be wonderful. The salad I had the first time was HUGE. The second time I tried the pizza and thought it was pretty good. The next time I had appetizers and drinks and I loved them so much, I took home an order of appetizers with me (with happy hour prices, why not?). I'm going to eat there tonight and I'm looking forward to it!
Alex your old friends Danny D & Jacqui here glad to see that you won this contest. So happy for you I always knew you was a great singer.
always have fun there and drinks are cheap. some of the best punk & hardcore shows ive seen have been at vaudeville.
The new exhibition with Mary Theresa Dietz is wonderful. Mary Theresa Dietz paints mostly with oil sticks, but she also creates encaustic painting, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing. Her subjects are mainly animals. Sometimes she likes to combine different types of animals and animals with humans. Her influences include folk art, pre-Columbian, ancient Egyptian, and ancient European art, German expressionism, the Fauves, animals and the natural world, and her subconscious.
Please stop by Thursday, Friday or Saturday 11 AM - 7 PM
Was fortunate enough to catch Jazz Telephone at the Sky Bar, great jazz band. Very talented. Great venue
Bad Religion brought the house down at the Rialto Theatre last night. Knowing very little of the music and history of the band did note dissuade me from attending what I consider the best Rialto performance in 2010. Not sure if that means I need to get out more often or just listen to punk rock on a regular basis. Regardless, the members of BR have been touring for more than 25 years. Their sound is tight, loud and direct. There were very few mishaps in the performance, although some songs off the new album created a lull in the crowd, creating a well deserved rest for those brave souls in the mosh pit. The crowd was raucous as ever and the band kept it's rhythmic, thumping, swirling grooves at a fist pumping rate. All while diving in and out of double bass drum kicking beats and looping punk rock riffs sprinkled with enough heavy chunks of loud guitar wailing to keep the entire audience awake for a good 2 - 3 hours after the show with the continual ringing in the ears of those Tucsonans that were brave enough to attend a Monday night punk rock show in the historic Rialto theater.

"I can't wait to see this show tonight, a great lineup"
This is a wonderful gallery!
A friendly and supportive environment where artists of all skill levels (and would-be poseurs like yours truly) get together to create art. Despite its name, the Drawing Studio supports all kinds of visual arts, from painting and sculpture to collage and encaustic print making. They have classes on all manner of topics, host regular drop-in figure drawing sessions (currently $10 for three hours), and generally promote artists and exhibits throughout the area.
The best thing about the Studio is the quality of people it's managed to attract. Talented and skilled artists bump elbows with scratchers like me, and you can learn some of the intangibles of technique and composition simply by watching how different people approach, say, the same pose in a live figure drawing.
The physical environment is challenging at time, but that's the only real downside I've found with The Drawing Studio. The figure drawing sessions (especially Sunday mornings) are so popular that you need to arrive early to get the best viewing position, and sometimes things like heat in the winter or AC in the summer aren't exactly industrial strength. But those are minor compared to the benefits.
If you want to ease into art, I can't recommend this place more highly. Low-stress classes (the kind you attend to learn things, not to get a degree or certificate), friendly staff and patrons, and regular opportunities to practice your drawing chops make this a great booster for the arts in and around Tucson.
We went there last month and checked out the band, Section 8 Trio. The place was sorta laid back but the band was hot. The bartender was great, the place was clean.
I reccomend you should check it out especially if those guys are playing there!!
Yeah, we went there a couple weeks ago and saw Section 8 Trio playing there .
We were lucky to catch the show, the band was really tight, the bartender was awsome, the place was clean, great service. We'll have to go back, hopefully the same band will be there.
