The Tucson Jewish Community Center really is the "Center" of the community. Operating under Jewish values and principles, the JCC is not a religious institution, but rather a cultural, recreational, educational, and social programs to the whole community.
Featuring something for everyone, from 6 weeks to 120 years, the "J" offers a nationally-accredited pre-school, full gym, tennis facility, cafe, auditorium/ballroom, fine art gallery and nationally-recognized sculpture garden. You can even have your wedding at the J!
Everyone is welcome at the JCC!
Have you ever wanted to learn about wine without appearing ignorant around wine snobs? Well, I found Cata Vinos was just the place. Imagine relaxing in a comfortable atmosphere, sampling a variety of tasty wines. You will find the staff knowledgable & helpful, the patrons friendly, and the well stocked shop has something for everyone.....all under $15! Wonderful fun to go with a party of friends, although I'm just as comfortable going alone. Very welcoming.
The food is fantastic. Unlike anything you can get anywhere in Tucson. We never cease to be surprised by the appetizers and delighted by the entrees. There is a great selection of wine. It is not inexpensive but the food is unforgettable. We love to get appetizers and drinks in the bar when out on a date night or when the budget requires.
Not to be missed - go for a horseback ride at the stables and then pop in the bar for a drink to relax afterwards. What a wonderful place - nothing like their cactus garden and historic property, great riding stable and knockout food. It truly is a gem.
Carolyn Anderson is the best!
The community is awesome. Even if the owners are a little off setting at first they are great people and have built a great gym community. The trainers are very skilled but also friendly, and the other gym members are insanely supportive.
I was a patient in this facility, and I have to say this is one of the best places out there. They have a wonderful, and caring staff! They really are cargivers and if it wasn't for them I would not be where I am today.
Thank you, Health South...Kudos to you!!
A very well-kept secret! What a jewel. Most unique place for wine and wine tastings. Nice to know you are getting a good value (everything is under $15, but has to "pass mustard" to be in the shop) - even without the wine tastings! Highly recommend CataVinos!!
Great independent bookstore with friendly, knowledgeable staff! you'll find not only new bestsellers but local authors' works from small presses, used books, a fun selection of cards, shirts, jewelry and "schtuff" for unique gifts. Truly a Tucson Gem!
MT. LEMMON IS A PLAYGROUND IN OUR OWN BACKYARD. IT HAS MORE TO OFFER THAN ANYONE COULD EXPERIENCE IN A LIFETIME. BUY THE YEARLY PASS AND GO EVERY WEEK.
CrossFit Works is THE best crossfit affiliate in Tucson. Jen and Carl actually work to IMPROVE your health and fitness, not just get your business. They've really created an amazing community of well-being. They create workouts and programs that are designed to get your performing at YOUR best...not some program that came out of a mold. If you want to surprise yourself and become the healthy athlete you've dreamed about being, you've got to try crossfit.
Tucson's greatest little niche for wine! Great place to find affordable wines that you like (and not just the labels) ... and meet new friends, bonding over palates! Great place to take those out-of-town guests too, always a great theme tasting each week.
A great place to shop for delicious and affordable wine. Yvonne and her staff search the marketplace for those rare and up-and-coming wines to stock in the store and keep things fresh and interesting. Cata Vinos is out in front of the pack while the big box stores still lag behind the Tucson wine scene. Plus the wines are less than $15.
My partner and I love to start our weekends off at Cata Vinos for the Thrusday or Friday night wine tasting. Yvonne (owner) always has great wines selected for the tastings and we usually pick up a bottle or six from the tasting to take home and enjoy. It's a warm, friendly place were we can get together at the end of the week and relax or meet friends and catch up over delicious, very reasonably priced wines. Even though we live in Vail, we just have to get our regular Cata Vinos fix...it's definitely worth the trip.
I HIGHLY recommend Catavinos and its owner Yvonne Foucher. Catavinos is a nice little bodega on the East side of town. It has a wonderful variety of foreign and domestic wines and a ceiling price, in the store, of $15.99. Catavinos offers a fine atomosphere for shopping, tasting, and learning about wines. Yvonne is a VERY knowledgeable and friendly proprietor who always has a smile and a tip on the latest tasty addition to her bodega. We live more than 20 miles from Catavinos, don't get there as often as we'd like, but still stop in to stock up whenever we're in the neighborhood. Despite not seeing us as often as her regulars, Yvonne remembers us, our tastes in wine, and greets us warmly. Don't take my word for it. I urge you to try Catavinos for yourself and note why it is a delightful difference on the landscape of Tucson wine stores!
At the top of my list for a place to get together with friends and get to meet others. The price is right at under $15 per bottle.
I regularly get together with friends for wine tasting at Cata Vinos... Our form of happy hour. You can't beat the comfortable setting nor the prices for a great wine selection!
Lucky Strike gave my friends the best time of their lives! We push to go every day of Winter Break! Everyone loved it! I even won 2 stuffed animals on the crane machine.
I love this church. A place where I can get great tools for helping me with the challenges in my life and outside of the box answers for my concerns. Also I love the fact that this is about my direct link with God and the Holy Spirit, and my unique way. So wonderful!
Very friendly atmosphere where people share their Love for God. An extensive library of books to borrow. A place where people don't "push" their beliefs on others and yet are open to share their experiences.

Music in the dog room is uplifting...not! It does the trick though. Just need James Reel to DJ. I'm sad and happy in the dog room at the same time.
