Re: “Shogun Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar

I go here all the time, the half sushi roll everyday can't be beat. My family is also a fan of the lunch box menu. The service staff seems to change a lot, but I can't say I've ever had bad service.

Re: “Maria Bonita Mexican Restaurant

Maria Bonita was a wonderful place for a family, also with very delicious food. My family and I loved it. We were truly sad when we saw it closed. I seriously hope to see a Maria Bonita opened once more, but from my understanding why this family restaurant closed was in fact for the building, not completely sure but the owner had said that the building was in bad bad condition. Anyways hope to see it open once again, and if does my family and i will in fact be there.

Re: “Barrio Brewing Company

I couldn't have enjoyed my experience more. The IPA was delicious, as were the burger and onion rings. Nice adult atmosphere and the service was good. I look forward to more visits in the future.

Re: “The Movement Shala

This is a first class studio/center run by two of the most unique and inspiring individuals
with limitless talents. The Shala is beautiful in and of itself, and the classes
are fun filled expressions of the natural beauty within us all. If you are looking for a place to celebrate life thru
the joy of dance, or you want to be the catalyst or play a part of making something special in the community, or participating in
something unique, this is the place Tucson! I am loving the West African Dance classes that have live drumming and never thought that I would be doing that! It's wonderful!

Re: “The Fat Greek

A real restaurant. Well run, professional, good food, actually decorated. A reliable place to put on the list.

Re: “Ginza

We've been here five times now, and keep coming back. The atmosphere is Japanese Modern chic, with lots of black and red. The service is excellent and the sushi is too! It's fast becoming our sole sushi restaurant.

Re: “Viro's Italian Bakery and Cafe

We stopped in thinking it was an Italian deli only and were pleasantly surprised by their dinner menu. They serve handmade vegetarian ravioli-several types, including a slightly sweet squash filled pasta that contrasted nicely with the buttery, garlicky sauce. My husband had the baked ziti with plenty of handmade sausage.

The cannoli made a fine ending to the meal. We noticed the variety of cookies in the pastry case but it was the unfilled cannoli shells that caught our eye. Chocolate dipped or plain? We asked our server for both and he cheerfully brought us cannoli that were perfect- they aren't filled until the customer orders them, keeping the shell from becoming soggy.

Bread baked fresh on the premises, overhearing some funny banter between staff, great food left us wondering, why hadn't we stopped in before?

We're grateful for decent restaurants on the eastside.

Wow. If you love tea, this is the place for you. Great atmosphere inside, even better tea selection. The service is better than most. Great place to buy gifts for tea lovers as well. I come here as often as i can to unwind and visit with old friends.

Re: “Caffe Torino

I have been dining at Caffe Torino for years and have always enjoyed the food. My favorite has to be the grilled scallops with butter sauce, always cooked to perfection! Another favorite is the scollio. Allow time to relax and enjoy!

Re: “Feast

This is one of those local restaurants that one just keeps coming back to time after time. They moved not that long ago, and as far as I could tell their business didn't miss a beat. Their regulars just followed them on over. The new location has more seating and that food is as original and well-prepared as ever. Great wine list too.

Re: “The B Line

B-line Cafe is a gem. A great place to take out-of-town visitors or just go out to lunch with friends. I love the fish burrito and the pasta in vodka sauce, but everything is going to be good. Fresh ingredients, good spicing, ample amounts and nice presentation. You also have great choices in drinks. This place wins award after award, year after year, so as with other ratings from the public on TW, the ratings here seem off-base.

Except for mine. :)

Re: “Janos J-BAR

J-Bar is one of the standards that out-of-town visitors to my business are taken. It's a Tucson original. The food is consistently good and inventive. I'm not sure what another reviewer is talking about, regarding spiciness. Yes, many plates are spicier than the average member of the retirement set might like, but that's honestly why we go there. One gets tired of the bland food that the snowbirds have caused restaurants to serve. But also, there are plenty of dishes that are not hot. They might be spicy, but that's not the same as hot.

For the record, though, the jalapeno chocolate ice cream is reason enough to go there.

Re: “Fluxx Studio and Gallery

Just an FYI. The number for Fluxx is 304-2155...Dante Celeiro's cell. 429-1389 is my (em bowen's) cell and was connected to an event, not the space.

Re: “Lupita's Cafe

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! I have tried several meals and every one of them ~delicious! Lupita's has the best salsa; when I go to the register to pay my bill, I buy a quart! And their service is just as good as their food. I am so glad Lupita's came to Northwest Tucson!!

Re: “Sushi on Oracle

This is the best sushi in town in my book. The service is always great and the servers are graceful, kind, and personable. The portions are good, the sushi is divine and fresh, the tempura, best in town. The ambiance is simple and pleasant. It's can be a bit crowded but it's worth the minor discomfort. I have always felt well nourished and pleasant by the end of the meal. You can't go wrong here.

Re: “Ikkyu

I love Ikkuyu. The service is great. I haven't been disappointed yet there. The udon bowls are yummy and piled high. The teriyaki is better than I have had in a while. The prices are great and the owner is always cheerful and helpful.
