Boondocks does an excellent job of promoting a large diversity of live music. One of the best venues in Tucson for the many genres covers.
And why not also an anglo playwriting award? And perhaps one for blacks, too? Just sayin'
It was a lot of FUN. Please keep up the good work. The location is pretty good. We would recomend it.
I enjoyed the entire experience. Everyone did an excellent job. Only suggestion would be to have more private tables and a little more elbow room. It's a beautiful location and very central.
Nice atmosphere! The bathrooms are beautiful and Clean! The staff is friendly and fun. New kitchen coming soon and smoking patio in the front and the back.(Under construction) Draft beer is coming back to the new bar. =)
I think they finally got the stench of cigarette smoke out of there. It took a few years. Not bad bar. Acoustics OK. Lot of room. Also have gotten rid of most of the trouble makers from the old days of Neon Prophet. Kitchen has surprisingly good fare. All in all I think I have to give it 5 stars.
it was Fun whenit was a BIKER BAR!!
RE: "The Desert Cadillacs"
Tucson's best classic rock band does it again with DANCIN' music from every genre! They added magic to the 11/11/11 grand opening! Tight harmonies, innovative arrangements, classic tunes and awesome instrumentals. I hear they play for private parties, special events, and weddings. When are they comin' back??!!! They're a true HIDDEN GEM in Tucson!!
You get the impression that all the "5 Star" reviews are written by the same person? The owner perhaps. In fairness, it seems like a single dissatisfied customer wrote several "1 Star" reviews too.
I and a group of friends went to this a year or so ago. The show was in a room at a restaurant that you would rent for a private party. The food was from the restaurant's kitchen and was ok (not my favorite mexican restaurant). The show was definitely campy and cheesy. But that what is is supposed to be; funny and silly. It's not Shakespeare for God's sake.
I thought the show was pricey and the food only so-so. I would still recommend it. just go into it with your eyes open.
And calling this show "pornographic"....PUHLEEZE! It has one character that is a guy in a dress playing a woman. If that is obscene, someone better dig up Milton Berle and arrest him! And Flip Wilson too!
Grey Dog Trading Co. has moved to 4320 N. Campbell Ave., Ste. 130, Tucson, AZ 85718 in St. Philip's Plaza. The hours are Mom-Sat from 10-6. Sun. from 10-2
This was horrible! I cannot believe I paid $39.00 for this! I wanted my money back. Very, very bad. If you want to see a show go to the gaslight theater! This is a low budget performance!
What a joke! Everyone at our table was staring at each other in disbelief, thinking it had to get better, but it didn't. The writing was horrible, the actors lacked talent, the costumes looked ancient and frayed. The only joy was in laughing at how bad it stunk. Don't waste your money, seriously.
Rude staff. Dirty pool. Bedbugs. Need I say more?
We went for a birthday celebration with some out of town friends. It was the best thing we could have done. Grrrreat time.
If your looking for a place to get herpes or make friends with mice this is the place to go! The bar is filthy and so is the one girl working there. The music was about the only thing worth finishing my overpriced drink for. Not impressed!
Tucson's best kept secret! Tremendous fun in an intimate setting with incredibly talented entertainers! An experience not to be missed!
This was a HILARIOUS show! Glad I saw it! I read some reviews beforehand and I was especially worried about the price. Turns out whoever wrote it was mistaken. For the price of the ticket, it was a great deal. The food was good and the show was "its-so-funny-I'm-crying" funny. There was also a lot of audience participation, which was very organic and fun to do. I'll admit that the show was a bit goofy, but that was the charm of it. The actors were perfect and seemed to enjoy performing it. If you want a serious production, this might not be for you. However, if you want to laugh at gags and have a fun time, this is the show for you!
It was Bocatta, sad that it closed as it was very good
No review, does anyone remember what this place was originally called. It was a almost fine dining restaurant with a intimate bar. I was a regular at Happy Hour in 94-95. Which probably explains why I can't remember the name.
