I own a little breakfast place myself but love to go here. This is one of those old americana style diners that unfortunately is a dying breed. If you go - come with the expectations of having a great old "diner experience" order the bacon, scrambled eggs, toast and hash browns while browsing the old vinyl record sleeves posted on the wall above the cooking area.
I like this place for watching sports events, and the food isn't bad... The advice I'd give however, is to make sure you check what they bill to your credit card.. Twice now the amount that they tried to charge to my credit card was higher than the amount of my total bill, including the tax... The first time, when I asked where the extra few dollars came from after they brought me the charge slip to sign, I was told that there was a several dollar extra charge that didn't appear on my bill, because I asked for ice in my drink... I'm not kidding... On the second occasion when they overcharged me, when I asked why my credit card charge was about five dollars higher than my total bill with tax, I was told that they accidentally billed me for someone else's bill... Once I can shrug off, but twice makes me raise an eyebrow.. So although this may have been an innocent error, make sure that what Native New Yorker in Marana charges to your credit card matches your bill, before you sign the charge slip.
One of the reasons my friends and I frequented del Lago, is the General Manager was always so friendly and would take the time to visit with us and ensure our experience was pleasurable. Fortunately, he was able to replace the woman supervisor with a more pleasant woman, who like him, ensures a nice experience. However, since he is no longer there, I will no longer go back. I understand the "owner" from Chigago decided to "make a change". Typical old man from Chicago with an ego. I am sure he is used to rude, business only, save a penny type of business. Here's a word of advice for him. Stay in Chicago. People here in Vail AZ appreciate a manager like Jim, and we will follow him to where he ends up. For now, we will frequent Montogomery's before coming back to del Lago. Nice job old man. And I can say that, as I too am a senior citizen.
Love this place! Tucson needed a little more soul! Great Food, Great Look, Great Concept. I would recommend it to everyone!
Too expensive, passable food, chain joint, syrupy service (how many times must you ask me if everything is OK?) not again.
The Chili's location at Stone & River has closed.
The location on Arizona Pavilions Dr is on the NW side of Tucson, and the one on Broadway would be on the East side. Please update the locator shown above.
Horrible service, mediocre food - add a minimum 30 minute wait and this is what you can expect from Blue Willow. They have some good dishes: the chicken tortilla sour cream bake, fruit crepes, and quiche. But, none of their food is worth the wait or the glares you'll catch from their hipster hostesses and waiters. Do yourself a favor, go down the street to Los Alazones and pay $5 less for a superior burrito!
The Loop filed for bankruptcy this week.
"Proud to serve" and "RC cola" should never be used in the same sentence, unless you're into sarcasm. Overpriced, and very average.
Deb's is a great place to grab a bite to eat downtown in La Placita. Friendly, fast service, wide-range of food choices, breakfast, smoothies. A lot of us from the office swing to Deb's regularly for a daily special. The grilled ham and cheese is super yummy and the hot crispy fries mmmmm.....Eat at Deb's!!!
Consistently the best breakfast I have had in Tucson. Good quality and huge portions.
Which location you go to makes a huge difference. The one on Valencia by the airport is by far the best!
Fabulous! And fun for the whole family. Burgers, dogs, sandwiches, best fries ever. I've ended up here even when I'm not exactly around the corner. It's one of those places you'll return to again and again. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous.
Decent food including hearty sandwiches. Be aware that on Friday evenings they get the hiking crowd that comes in after their hike. The place can get thick with the smell of BO at the Tanque Verde location.
Hey, is this the Market that threw a fund raiser for Karen Uhlich and Nina Trassoff and then got a subsidized lease where the taxpayer pays for all the utilities?
Weak. Don't waste your time. Try Monkey Burger.
(reading the description) "Some chains do it right. " And this one isn't one of them. Not to say I have anything against TGI Fridays; there are sone that actually are good. Just not this particular branch. Portions are very small, service is slow, and the quality just wasn't that good. Pick a different TGI Fridays if you want something familiar. I will never eat here again.
Good breakfast at an affordable price. The atmosphere is a little dark and dingy, but the food makes up for it. Highly recommend it, and wish they were open both on weekends and for dinner.
As I ate that hot dog, childhood memories came rushing back! Amazing. I have been searching for this in Tucson for 20 years - there is no where else to go!
Re: “Denny's”
Don't go to Denny's. Support local diners like Chaffins on broadway and euclid doing the same thing - way better.
