VOTE SHER-E-PUNJAB #1 RESTAURANT IN THE CITY OF TUCSON!!!!!!!! IT DESERVES IT!!!:)
-sher-e-punjab is an amazing place, the service was wonderful it might not look big and fancy but once you order one of there dishes the appearence of the building doesnt matter the naan bread is unlike anything ive ever ate before the aroma of the dishes still remains in my noise til now,the tenduri chicken is very flavorfull try it!!,and i love how you can hear them play indian music softly in the background who ever says they dont appreciate the great dishes that this place brings seriously doesnt know what good food is and shoudnt even be critiking negative comments because they are not true !!,, sher-e-punjab the greatest restaraunt to have ever been open in the cityof tucson..
At best 2 stars. Have had their biryani, that was ok, and a chicken dish that was inedible. No thanks.
The service is always great!!!!! The owner is friendly and the food is excellent! We have been going to the Indian Oven for the last 13 years, and our boys just love this wonderful, tasty, well-prepared food. There is nothing like a whole-hearty meal with meat, rice, and vegetables! We highly recommend
it to your family.
I recently asked my dry cleaning lady, who is Indian, were to go for Indian food. She said try Sher-e-Punjab. She must have some sort of interest in that place because all I can say is that the buffet was awful. Diced potatoes with canned green beans in a greasy brown sauce, shredded cabbage in a similarly oil-ladened sauce, bland and watery paneer, all dark meat tandoori chicken, and rather dry basmati rice, Worst of all, everything tasted as if they reuse the leftovers all week long. As an aside. It was kinda comical watching a number of patron come, walk to back of the restaurant, look at the buffet food, and promptly walk out of the building.
Am I too hard of a reviewer? Not if you consider the fact that some of my friends and I have eaten all over the country. Look! Overall, Tucson is sorely lacking in good cuisine, period.
Been going to this restaurant for years. Excellent food. Great ambience. Lunch buffet is a
good value.
This is my favorite food ! My husband and I have been having lunch at the buffet every weekend for 10 years. Yummy.
Simply put: The buffet food is way too bland tasting.
Service was great, the server was a delightful and conversational woman. The buffet lunch was fantastic. I am a vegetarian so I stuck with the vegetarian items. Samosas were great, fluffy, and flavorful. The curries had a wonderful taste. I have never been to India Oven for dinner, but hope to in the future. I would recommend this place to anyone.
I was really looking forward to dining at Sher-e-Punjab.
It was not what I thought. Other east asian restaurants are better. Reading the other posts makes me wnder from whence they came...
I found Saffron's food excellent. Value for money as well as quality on par w/ my experiences back home in the UK and Mother India herself. My only suggestion is to skip the buffett and order from the menu.
Went for the lunch buffet. The price was right but most of the items were average/decent. In other words, bland. Do I recommend Indian Over? I'd say give it a try. Will I be back? Hmm? Not sure. Service was a little lacking.
The service was fast the food was excellent, not expensive but we were to only ones there. Help rescue this gem.
Not close to the best in town, but the most expensive asian. Bland.
Best Indian food in town, try the onion kulcha instead of naan. Mild, medium or hot.
Full bar.
After having spent a good amount of time traveling across India I would like to think of myself as picky when it comes to Indian food. I would say that the vegetarian dishes at Ghandis's are as authentic and delicious as I have had anywhere in the world. I highly recommend the Shahi Panner and the Malai Kofta. Their cream based curries are so good that my friend form Bombay said it tastes her grandma's cooking!!
**I would agree that their buffet is disappointing and not even close to on par with their dinner menu. So don't judge by the Buffet!!
Most excellent buffet and great price! The lovely family who owns and runs the restaurant has become like a second family to us since we have been going there for many years. It is a great pleasure to bring friends and visitors to Tucson to Gandhi Restaurant. It is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in Tucson!
This place is probably the best in Tucson but far below the standards of the proper indian you would get in England. As it is a bit of a jaunt, I urge EVERYONE to hop the pond and enjoy a bite! Warning...It will kind of ruin your future indian meals here. Sorry.
Re: “New Delhi Palace”
New management and maybe chefs. Not as good as in the past.
