The porter won a gold medal at the Great American Beer fest (best porter in america)....sounds like Reuven needs to wash his palate.
We visited this restaurant with a large group of people and our waitress was wonderful. She managed to get all our orders correct and had a wonderful smile the entire time. Everyone enjoyed the food, this place is great can't wait to visit it again!
Great beers, tasty food, attentive servers, no skimpy portions! Very relaxed kick back atmosphere, pool tables too.
I couldn't have enjoyed my experience more. The IPA was delicious, as were the burger and onion rings. Nice adult atmosphere and the service was good. I look forward to more visits in the future.
Great food and unless something has gone horribly wrong since my last visit, perfectly good beer. Will check it again on my next visit, but have always found their beers quite tasty (and I'm a beer judge!)
Loved the beer, I don't understand what everyone's complaining about. It was great, and the service was top notch. The food was pretty good, but I thought the IPA was one of the best I've ever tried. Each to their own, I suppose.
Nice staff, pleasant atmosphere, and surprising edible bar food. Worth coming back to. Thanks!
Stopped by to try the beer. Was not impressed. Prefer Nimbus.
I'm the non beer drinker in our group and if a brew pub can keep me as happy as the rest of the bunch, it's a great place.
Their version of the mojito is excellent- plenty of fresh muddled mint and a slice of orange, quite strong and not too sweet but intensely flavored.
Another plus- their beer battered fish and chips arrives at the table hot and crisp and the wait staff cheerfully substituted sweet potato fries for the usual ones.
The truth is I really want to love this place. I absolutely love to drink and brew beer. I live downtown and the Barrio Brewery is easily walking distance from my house. It's got a really great environment. The Problem is the beer is just so terrible. Literally every single beer they make is criminally wrong. The from the IPA to the Porters and Stouts everything is just off (and it's hard to screw up a stout). Beyond that the beer actually makes me ill. Every time I go there and have more than one or two beers I get sick. I also know other people who have said the same thing.
If your not a beer connoisseur then head on over. If you are, do yourself a favor and order a shot of tequila with your burger.
It just not happening for me yet! Don't get me wrong, if you are looking for good looking people that work there, and a trendy atmosphere, ok. But, I've eaten there twice and so for its sub-standard. The Calamari was over cooked and rubbery, and rings only...for the true connoisseurs of Calamari, don't waist your time.'The Gunny' is walking the same plank! The top of the bun reminded me of a Roman Buckler that you need to fend off the attitude of the bartender who wouldn't even acknowledge the obvious displeasure when the customer begins to eat the inside of the sandwich and still turns green! The only saving grace was the manager did offer another meal, and removed the culinary mistake from the bill without any asking or rebuttal. If you order the a fore mentioned items, keep and Eagle Eye on the detail. Or if you are a pig belly up to the trough. Being fair, ill give them one more chance, but just like baseball, three strikes your out! -Touchy Tummy
I rate it a 5 because the food, service, and atmosphere are all great. Oh, and the beer is good too 8 ). It is a beer bistro, not "fine dining"...so I don't know what the other ladies problem was. It's an awesome place to hang out with your friends and have some great food! (Just stay away from the fried balogne sandwich). I do recommend the beer and brats, strombolis (both are awesome), pizza, pretzel bites or fried jalepenos (if you can handle it).
Excellent black and blue burgers. Must try.
Cool week this week.. show keeps building.. tell all your friends and bring em out to listen, sing, or play~
Everything is $9 or less. They have a salmon dish served over delicious mashed potatoes and spinach that would be $15 anywhere else. Huge selection of beer, live music, big patio. Come on. It's the best thing on the stupid eastside.
What a great room, great service, food..
Our first visit to this restaurant was a very disappointing experience. It is unforfunate that we picked this restaurant to take 8 out of town guests. Never have I had such a tasteless, unproportioned, expensive meal, out of 10 the only edible plate served to us was the personal pizza. Service was good, no waitting and comfortable seatting. As a customer you always want to have a good meal with a good drink (Beer). this was not the case. We will not Return.
YUM. Great appetizers offered for half off during their happy hour. Something for every member of the family.
Nimbus, Nimbus, Nimbus rules! Need I say more?
Re: “Nimbus Bistro and Brewery”
