Re: “Tavolino Ristorante Italiano”
Rather cold decor, disconnected and impersonal. Food was well prepared and served promptly and unobtrusively on a Friday evening at 7 PM.
Restaurant had only a few other diners. Lighting is not flattering, not a romantic place to dine. Looks like they have a pick up bar for the middle-aged crowd. (The much older crowd goes next door to Shlomo & Vito's New York Deli where despite much of the food is inedible, the place is packed.)
Next time I will order to go. Tavolino's does not have a cozy atmosphere for really enjoying the good food they serve.

Old school Italian circa 1960's. Nothing fantastic, just solid mainline Italian style cooking. Exactly what one might expect next to a military base. Joe's special is noodles and cheese with little more than a dollup of tomato sauce.

I also had my concerns when Tavolino moved and I found them justified. When seated we were given a large table in the middle of the room when others with a more intimate setting were readily available (and did not fill while we were there). The wine and wine steward were both excellent. I had seafood Risotto that was barely warm and the risotto undercooked. One of my guests had Seafood special that was also not hot enough to enjoy. Luckily the birthday guests food was great (eggplant parm) which was to die for and grilled salmon which was good but unremarkable. The desserts were excellent. Our server was less than concerned about having to return food to heat it up nor was he apologetic. I was really disappointed.

The pizza side of the restaurant is great. The restaurant has good classic Italian dishes, but too expensive for what you get. I still go for the pizza though.

I ate there many times for lunch when I worked across the street. The food was always fresh and delicious. The Italian cookies were incredible as well.

Never fails to please. Good food. Bring back the steak sandwich with balsamic carmelized onions.

Decent food and service. Osso bucco was excellent. I wish they would offer the seafood soup that Red Sky Cafe used to have.

Having spent most every single day since April dining out for lunch & or dinner at some of the so called best restaurants in Tucson, I can unequivocally say Vivace is the best of the best. This place & its newer Pizzeria Vivace never ever disappoint. Along w/there smashing food is, there impeccable service & wine list. Vivace we are back!

Some of the best and most reasonabley priced italian food we have ever had. We love it and go as frequently as we can. Everything we 've tried, we loved! Best meatballs in Tucson. The Seafood Soup is phenomenal; the broth is to die for. So pleased to have Guiseppe's as our go-to place! We wish him much success and tell everyone we can about the place.

My husband and I dine out frequently. We are extremely particular in our expectations and this restaurant far exceeds them. We often find ourselves dining here on a couple nights throughout our week. We also LOVE their italian breakfasts & lunch dishes! Cafe Torino is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with an intimate feel. The owner is "hands on" and frequently visits with her guests when not in the kitchen. The food is absolutely exceptional. The pasta is all homemade, each morning ,and the menu offers many northern italian authentic selections as well as rotating specials. I have impressed many by bringing them to this little gem. For breakfast, lunch or dinner...it is one to not miss!

It's the best food in town with pretty much the old Red Sky Cafe taste, flair & menu.

Very nice outdoor patio agreat day to spend an evening. If only the food was good, its a shame that Caruso's can't have a chef that makes authentic and delicious Italian food. Every time I have been here I am disappointed with the food.

Very nice place and the food was good as well. We had a Gorgonzola gnocchi, pasta in a spicy rosa sauce and a delicious eggplant appetizer. They also had a decent wine list to boot. I would definatley go again.

Been going there for 50 years. Joe's special and the sausage meat pizza, way over the top! Chef Alesi was the best, God rest his soul.

There they go again;being the best of the best in Tucson. After another 5 or so months of searching & still have not found another restaurant that can compare. Ate there 3 days in a row this week. Different waiters, different times, with different people & they still hit a home run each & every time. No, a Grand Slam! Why, because my dining companies also agree. Simonetti , Anne & Don
