Excellent pulled pork but all else disappoints. Stopped going there when I had had enough of the owner's attitude - if I wanted the New York "tude", I would live in Manhattan.
I am addicted to the messy fries, and smoked turkey sandwiches and the wings. And I agree with the dude above me the salmon is AMAZING.
I was excited to be taken here by my Fiancee as I am from the South and recently moved here and was craving good BBQ. Sadly, I did not find it at Mr. K's. The meats were average and the sides were incredibly bland. Wasn't thrilled at the thick slice of plain white bread that accompanied the meal as well. Lots of flavors missing at Mr. K's.
Like the campbell locale - Kolb is unimpressive in comparison.
I don't understand why people rate this place so high. I ordered a pork sandwich, and it was thin, shaved slivers of meat suspended in an oversweet, gelatinous sauce. Worst barbecue I've ever had. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but that was my experience.
Have driven by twice recently and appears place has closed down.....
Delicious. Love them. Keep smokin' the Best BBQ in Tucson
While there are not a lot of real good bbq joints in Tucson, Dave's may be the best in terms of consistency. We went here Saturday, March the 5th and it was a good as the last time we went which was a few months or so earlier. Pulled pork sandwiches are excellent.
We finally went here and both had combo plates with chicken and pulled pork. Verdict: The meats were just so so. Brush Fire lacked that quality, fresh-cooked favor you'd expect at better BBQ houses. The meats were rather soggy and their sauces do little to make things taste better. In fact, we'd advice you to order your meat without sauce. This way it won't be swimming in it. Simply add your own afterwards. And the sides? OK but nothing to write home about. But at just $10.50 a plate, we can't complain too much.
Having tasted everything on the menu including all of the sides, this is as good of quality bbq you will find in town. Ample portions, melt in your mouth brisket, great turkey, and their salmon is terrific.
The best BBQ restaurant in our region. Sadly, it is constantly overlooked due to its location (although it's location is specific because of the adjoining museum - also underestimated). The moment you are in the parking lot, you are teased with an aroma that hints at the awaiting flavor. You will only regret not being able to finish your plate.
They now have a 2nd location on Houghton Rd at Rita Rd in the former Cilantros.
I LOVE BUCK & LIL'S WHOEVER SAID PORTION SIZE IS SMALL I THINK U NEED GLASSES.. DELICIOUS SMOKED PORK AND FINGER LICKING COLE SLAW!
Went here for lunch with a friend. Food was OK but too expensive for portion size and overall taste. I love "good" BBQ bad but I doubt either of us will be back. Lower your prices and make portions larger. Then maybe I could get past the run of the mill favor.
Food was excellent. Service was wonderful and I look forward to eating there again. The multiple choices of sauces is enough to please any palate. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, and look forward to eating there again!
Keep up the good work.
I love love love the ribs! So juicy and tender! The regular sauce is so succulent and drinkable! (They also have sweet and spicy sauces) I am always treated well at Dickey's and love to get some ice cream after my ribs. I'm glad they are in town!
Others like this place, but it's not my kind of barbecue. I've been there twice and the meat was cold both times. It's served without sauce - you add your choice of sauce. The meat is smoked, but not well seasoned - it's very bland without the sauces. The sauces are ho-hum. The sides are ho-hum.
Very formulaic but decent SW-style BBQ etc. A bit high in price for what you get. Also, the interior is way too dark. I kept wondering what it was they didn't want me to see.
