Re: “The Skybox Restaurant and Sports Bar

A friend told me about this and said they have bands so I checked it out over the weekend. In a work the place is dull. Not horrible or anything but it's pretty dull. I guess I would go back but I am in no hurry to do so.

Re: “The Skybox Restaurant and Sports Bar

Was hoping for a better experience. The vide isn't happening here. The food isn't really worth the prices and the sound system is sorta low budget. Wish this place were better as there isn't much else around this area.

Re: “Lindy's on Fourth

I don't know what those first two comments are about. The burgers are delicioso and delectable. The blue cheese/bacon combo, and the gloriously messy mac-n-cheese burger, are the best Tucson has got to offer. The onion rings rock and the tap beer is cheap. What more could you want?

Re: “Austin's Old Fashioned Ice Cream

I just went to Austin's and the everything was disappointing. The services is sooooo slow and the price of the food (diner food) is off the charts. They upcharge for french fries instead of chips and then they give you very little. The shakes don't come out with the meal but after you're almost finished eating and ready to go. I can't not express to you enough how overly priced the food is. Please choose another diner in the future.

Re: “Gooch's Grill

Terrible service and mediocre food. I ordered a "patty melt" which consisted of a slab of beef and a piece of cheese on toasted white bread. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Re: “Bobo's Restaurant

Great dinner breakfast, fast service, great bacon and the pancakes are big. No, I mean really rather large.

Re: “Lindy's on Fourth

Don't waste your time eating there! The service is slow and the employees are not friendly! You can get a better burger at In'n Out"!

Re: “Hacienda del Lago

We live out here in Vail and have seen this place go from good to horrible real fast. Is there a new owner? The manager is about as inviting and classy as a used sanitary napkin on a table! I guess you get what you pay for, obviously a non- experienced manager is cheap and easy help! We won't come back as well as all of our neighborhood friends. We have had it with this place! Owner must be a retard!

Re: “Kon Tiki

This is a great place to have a paradise experience. They service unique drinks and Polynesian food. This is the famous place that has the Scorpion drink servered in a fish bowl. You have to go on your 21st birthday don't miss out on your experience of the Scorpion.

Re: “Chicago Bar

Small bar with a tiny stage for bands. Owner books the same two bands over and over. Not enough good new talent. Same old same old. Not real bad or anything, however, a lot of burnt out smoker frequent this dive.

Re: “Burger City

I was very excited about going to Burger City for lunch. I'd read a good review in the Tucson Weekly's "Cheap Eats". But when myself and some co-workers arrived there, a lady met us at the (unlocked) front door with a frown and "We're closed." I peered about the room to see a dozen patrons of various ages happily enjoying their lunch.

The lady must have seen the puzzled look on my face, so she repeated, "We're closed."

That's it. No explanation, no apology, no nothing. Just randomly closed on a Wednesday at noon. WTF?

Re: “Hacienda del Lago

We have lived in the Vail area for over 2 years and have found this to be one of the best places to eat in the area. They have nightly specials and the regular menu has a lot of variety. They do close a bit early in the summer and sometimes the service is a little slow. They have had some changes over the last year or so but they have weathered this surprisingly well. They are very competitive price wise and have reduced prices to keep everyone coming back during the economic downturn. Try the Thursday night special for 2 with wine included it is great.

Re: “Frank's Restaurant

My absolute favorite breakfast spot! Blueberry french toast, or swiss mushroom omelettes, iced mocha, friendly service in total small diner/greasy spoon atmosphere ... the perfect balance of energy and satisfaction. A gem.

Re: “Hacienda del Lago

I'm surprised to hear these comments as we find the place much more inviting. That original Chef was out there, and Fido the manager treated us like we were a burden for coming in for dinner. The food is great and friendly service. I don't know who eats dinner between 7 and 9, but you must not have kids.

We love the place! One might think it is high end, but it is very family friendly. $3.00 kids meals with ice cream? This place is a must if your in the Vail area. And go during happy hour, great drink prices.

Re: “Hacienda del Lago

I'm happy to find this review as I was thinking of trying this place again. I will not bother!
Hacienda Del Lago was really good about two or three years ago.
Good enough I recommended it to friends. For some reason their chef left and instantly they went into the toilet. Too bad as there is very little in the Vail area besides Montgomery's biker bar from hell.
Nico's is the best restaurant since Cione's Pizza closed for good.

Re: “Golden Corral

Good food here, but you have to pick and choose. Salads are better than Sweet Tomato as is the fruit. Steaks if cooked right are good.

Stay away from some of the fried stuff and nasty side dishes.
