Thanks for the update, Chris! I updated the listing for you.
This event no longer runs every Monday. It is now only I the 1st and 3rd Monday odd every month
My husband and I went with two other couples. We had such an amazing time!! The food was tasty and the show was so interactive and they made you want to be part of the show!! Can't wait to go again. Highly recommend you go and have fun!!!!!
Tuesday nights are awesome! DJ Armand spins an amazing set every time and Jaquelyn is a delight at the bar!
I don't think there are enough words to describe how Horribly Awful this dinner/play was! They started 1/2 hour late and still didn't seem prepared, the "acting" was as pitiful as if they just received the script, and the food was downright inedible. It was a complete waste of time and $42.50. We were stunned when given envelopes that told us how much they expected for tips. Here's my tip for them......Please Stop torturing people!!!!!!! We left before dessert and the end of the play because it was just too painful to be there. What an insult to the Gaslight Theater to be compared to them. Save your money and time, and go somewhere else.
The acting was awful and the food was worse. It doesn't deserve 1 star. Don't go to a Chinese restaurant to eat Italian food.
I am amazed they can stay in business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the month of July, this event will take place on July 16, the third Thursday of the month not on July 9th. Each month after will be the second Thursday of the month. For more details, visit www.vaudeville-entertainment.com.
The perfect way to improve on a Monday. Kick back with a great cocktail, munch on a few appetizers and listen to the unbelievable talent of Phil Davis
I concur with Cynthia! I was there too and I feel like it was such a ripoff!! We had to wait almost an hour after it started before anything happened and then they served us salad with warm ranch dressing. The salad was so small and tasted like it came from under a heat lamp. Bartender was sloppy but slow and there was no wait staff to ask us for more drinks during the show. No water, soda...nothing. Then after our small salad, we had to wait another 30 min or so for them to start the show and then we ate our "wedding dinner". Luke warm chicken that was served with al-dente noodles and when I say al-dente, I mean hard. This place is certainly not worth the $45 per person cash only status and I would never recommend it to any one I know. CONSUMER BEWARE -- RIP OFF
Not what their website advertises at all! Extremely corny and super low budget! Not worth the 45.00 dollars per person! Then they expected tips! Food was not good at all; actually the food was more of a mystery that the show itself! Experience at this show was just flat out disappointing. I took my niece for her 35th birthday and flew in my sister from out of state for this show! I was totally embarrassed! Then to top it all off...they do not except credit cards! What kind of business are they running! Are they afraid ppl will stop payment? I would certainly stop payment! Something should be done...this is a rip off! I give solely one star only because I feel sorry for them! Extremely pissed...
I couldn't agree more with the recent negative reviews. Our experience at the show was not just disappointing, but was really downright insulting. The food was inedible and the cast was absolutely terrible. Maybe years ago the show was good, but now it's just a bad middle school level improv that even a cast member's parent couldn't enjoy.
When they passed out the envelopes for the cast/servers "tips" (while pleading about how hard they had worked), we got up and walked out with about 3/4's of the audience. The comments on the parking lot were far funnier than anything said "on stage" that night.
Would not recommend to anyone. It was low budget, amateur, sound system failed, food was cooled and gross. Show was stupid and not funny. Very corny! Actors looked like they did not want to be there. Drinks were over priced. We went on New Year's Eve and paid $75 a ticket for the dinner and show plus additional entertainment for New Year's Eve. Definitely did not get what we paid for. Do not go to this show! 12/31/13
Please, I beg of you, do NOT go to their show. This production deserved NO stars. We went on 9/28, and I am still angry about losing $90.80 (incl tax). There were four "actors" who wanted to be somewhere else. A group of middle school kids could put on a better show. The acting was mundane without any flair or expertise whatsoever. It seemed to be totally impromptu and unrehearsed. Lousy Halloween costumes. The vampire didn't even bother to wear some convincing make-up. Unprofessional. They (or we) might as well have been reading on stage from a script. Little facial expression. The audience participation was the only good part. The tired old jokes were often crude and just not so funny. (Children were present.) Guppie was better as the inspector. The gypsy brought some enthusiasm to his work and at least dressed for the part. . . . . he had to because he is a man playing a woman. The story was stupid, unimaginative and ridiculous. The venue was the back room of a Chinese restaurant. Smelled. About 45 people stuffed into this small room next to the restrooms. There was NO stage, only a single backdrop, and 2 floodlights in back shown into the faces of half the audience. The meal was also a disappointing joke. Only water was served with the meal, and you had to ask for it. I went to the bar twice to get water for me and Mom. $2 for pop or iced tea. Not-so-fresh salad with same dressing for all. No bread & butter. Lots of noodles in a bland white (alfredo?) sauce. I think the chicken and rice in the breading was real. Half the people at my table of 8 barely touched their meal. Dessert was a TINY piece of cheap cheesecake, definitely not Cheesecake Factory. Please believe me, we were not the only people dissatisfied with the show and the meal. Those who purchased liquor or beer may have been happier. To add insult to injury, the actors said they were unpaid and asked for tips. Can you believe it -- at $42 a head for crappy acting and crappy food. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS! 10/07/13
PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS! ZERO STARS!!
I got 4 tickets to the Mystery Theater as a gift for my mother. This cost about $200 so I expected quite a lot. When calling into the theater the man who answered the phone was completely unprofessional and rude. He explained how the evening would go, how wonderful the food would be, how interactive and engaging the show would be etc. but was condescending and impatient with me. He made me feel as if I was wasting his time, but I assumed he was busy, so I went through with the transaction…
When my mother tried to schedule a time to go to the show she was treated very poorly. She called in and booked a Saturday night, but immediately remembered that she had a prior commitment, so called them back within MINUTES. The man almost REFUSED to let her change days! She wanted to change to the Friday and he said she could not and that it was too late to do so! She had literally just spoken to him. He finally agreed to allow her to change days but made her feel bad about it. I was in the room and immediately became really worried about how her evening would play out…
When I next saw my mother I asked how the evening went- she just groaned! Horrible food (NOT what was promised when I made the ticket purchase). NO interaction from the people on stage with the audience (I was told that the staff would drop of clues at the table while the dinner was being served and that the entire evening would be highly interactive). The show was tacky, boring and not funny. My mother said at the end they simply gave the audience a piece of paper and said, “Read this and write your answers down and don’t forget to give us a tip.” Wow! All 3 of her friends were completely appalled by the show and staff.
I am so disappointed that I wasted so much money on this gift and even more disappointed that my mother and her friends had an awful time. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!
This place was terrible!!! Although the play itself was fun, it was a rip off! We called to get our money back before the show after we read a review and the person on the phone was so rude! He was yelling at us and saying some very shocking statements, and would not give us our money back! The tickets are $42 each! That is almost as much as a Broadway ticket! The tickets were no way worth what the price was even with a meal. Bringing up the meal, first there was a salad, which one girl at my table was given no dressing, and my husband had to ask the drink waiter multiple times to get his drink. After the salad, they gave us Mexican food?? The plate was not even full! There was one chip, with a little bit of beans, a tiny enchilada, and a little piece of corn bread. I was about ready to ask the waiters (actors) serving, if that was all we were getting! The room and table clothes were dirty, and the little favors of bubbles they gave us were empty. The humor was crude, the list goes on.
I am 14 and my brother is 15. We loved the show and even figured out who the killer was and won two tickets to SHerlock Homes! We laughed so hard.
So nice to see that Tucson has an event like this. The actors were hysterical, the sets well done and the magic silly but fascinating. Yummy meal and dessert and nice venue, can stay for salsa dancing after the show too. Two thumbs up from my table of ten, cant wait to go back.
PERFECT for company events; it gets everyone involved, it is funny, interactive, gets people moving, laughing, keeps them guessing. We just had our company event here. We had 56 people in attendance and today, the Monday after the event I've heard more positive comments about it that I've ever had before. We had a terrific time. The show was slap-stick comedy at its best. Ross ("The Mostly Magnificent Steve") and the rest of the actors are hilarious (special Kudos to Trixie...OMG...where did this guy hide all this time!!!???!). The magic is great. The humor is tremendous. I found myself still laughing at some jokes 24 hours later!!! We will definitely do it again!
My Husband and I attended the show just this weekend--Valentine weekend. If you know anything about Tucson...well some of the post before may have had their expectations set wayyyy high. From where it was held, you should'nt have expected a lot. But when we sat down, it was pretty hillarious. Loved Trixie, the southern tranny, a Rupaul reject. She/It made the whole show funny. The food was typical diner food, and you're right, the chicken sauce was questionable...but the dessert was scrumptious. We sat with 3 other couple in our table and they too had a blast. It's similar to Gaslight without the singing and yes, the actors and actress' worked hard as our wait staff too... My only reccomendation is perhaps to lower the price. I recommend it.....w/o high expectations...you ARE, by the way, in Tucson! :-)
This place is incredible! It’s a delicious 3-Course candle-lit dinner being served as part of the story line of a hilarious interactive murder mystery whodunit 3-act play. The play's set at a magic show so we got to see some magic performed and someone actually sawn in half. Volunteers from the audience are allowed to come on stage for some of the scenes. Someone even wins a prize at the end for solving the mystery. Everyone had a great time and we'd def go back again.
Highly Recommended... YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
