"The energy of The Dance Floor was positive and playful! The music was upbeat and intended to get us up and DANCE!"
Please come and join us for a creative, fun evening of dance. Dance to world music, pop, funk, R&B...just a great mix of music, some old, some new and some you've never heard! For more information go to www.dancefloortucson.com
Thanks! I hope to see you there.

Above is a link to a preview of the film. Although the film certainly deals with off grid communities it is primarily about Guy McPherson's journey walking away from a comfortable life as a tenured academic professor at the University of AZ to a permaculture settlement in New Mexico. It also features other cultural critics like Chris Hedges and James Howard Kunstler. Michael Sosebee
I wasn't at this event, but I can assure you that Billy Templeton has been plagued by demon alcohol for many years. There are better bands - try Chance Romance.
Thanks for the notice, porchsong. Fixed.
The Celebration of Kindness will actually be at the downtown studio, not the Main Gate Studio. 40 W. Broadway, between Stone and Church. On days like today, the tragedy in Boston, the need for organizations like Ben's Bells is glaringly obvious.
This is going to be a great event! Can't wait.
Website is wrong, here is the correct info - http://putt-ingkidsfirst.org
What a totally crappy band! I want my money back!
Riveting performance! Timely modernization of several ancient themes. Although definately for adults, the child actors present an integral piece of the message in a professional and emotionally engaging manner. You won't be disappointed.
I see Operation "Kick out all the poor people from downtown Tucson" is going according to plan.
Absolutely amazing offering and What a great auction hosted by Chuck George!
I attended this last year. It was very intense. Can't wait to see it again. Was hoping they were doing it this year.
If you like being insulted by a drunken lead singer/guitar player who can't even finish his sets because he's too drunk to stand up anymore (much less remember song lyrics), this is the band for you. Guy walked offstage in the middle of a song! Aren't there any better bands in town to hire?

I got 4 tickets to the Mystery Theater as a gift for my mother. This cost about $200 so I expected quite a lot. When calling into the theater the man who answered the phone was completely unprofessional and rude. He explained how the evening would go, how wonderful the food would be, how interactive and engaging the show would be etc. but was condescending and impatient with me. He made me feel as if I was wasting his time, but I assumed he was busy, so I went through with the transaction…
When my mother tried to schedule a time to go to the show she was treated very poorly. She called in and booked a Saturday night, but immediately remembered that she had a prior commitment, so called them back within MINUTES. The man almost REFUSED to let her change days! She wanted to change to the Friday and he said she could not and that it was too late to do so! She had literally just spoken to him. He finally agreed to allow her to change days but made her feel bad about it. I was in the room and immediately became really worried about how her evening would play out…
When I next saw my mother I asked how the evening went- she just groaned! Horrible food (NOT what was promised when I made the ticket purchase). NO interaction from the people on stage with the audience (I was told that the staff would drop of clues at the table while the dinner was being served and that the entire evening would be highly interactive). The show was tacky, boring and not funny. My mother said at the end they simply gave the audience a piece of paper and said, “Read this and write your answers down and don’t forget to give us a tip.” Wow! All 3 of her friends were completely appalled by the show and staff.
I am so disappointed that I wasted so much money on this gift and even more disappointed that my mother and her friends had an awful time. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!
Really? What addict is going to walk into a police substation for " assistance?"
