The opportunity to be elbow-deep in mud together is a rare family adventure—unless, of course, you take a family class at the Tucson Clay Co-op, where the motto could be, "The family that throws together, grows together." When you get into the car to go home, you'll bond further by pointing out the dried clay on the tops of each other's eyebrows and ears. Later, when you get to take all of your creations home, you'll remember how fun it was to make the dogs a new set of dishes together, watch each other struggle to make a pot on the wheel, and stand side by side on a Sunday afternoon making magic-monster masks.
