For 27 years, Terry Etherton has pitched a series of perfect seasons, devoting equal attention to both worthy locals and way-famous photographic luminaries. Last fall, for her 60th birthday and her 30th year in photography, Tucson's own Frances Murray had a glittering retrospective of her sleek black-and-white photos, many of them shot in her West University backyard. A later exhibition paid homage to French-born Elliott Erwitt, a nonpareil Magnum photog who brought his witty international works to the Etherton's main gallery in the Odd Fellows Hall downtown. The farm-team space, at the Temple Gallery a few blocks away, gives solo airings to many locals, including a recent lovely posthumous exhibition for lovable painter Owen Williams.
