Studies have shown that there's just enough time between turns in bowling to bet on, and watch, an entire greyhound race. There are seven places in the Tucson area where off-track betting is offered, but only one includes the opportunity to roll a few games while waiting for post time. Golden Pin's bar area doubles as a haven of hope for wager prosperity, not to mention a gathering place for people who like to throw crumpled pieces of paper on the ground after that darn mutt sputtered down the stretch. The ambience is enhanced by the fact the audio from a half-dozen antiquated TVs, mounted high on the walls, is drowned out by the clattering of pins from the bowling center's 48 lanes.
