Re: “Tucson Marches for Equality

Please show me where I "cast judgement?" I asked a question, and you think it's judgement? And then by stating a well reported fact on sanctuary cities causing a loss of tax dollars, I am "making a show of being morally superior?"

You ma'am/sir needs to expand your comprehension abilities. I did neither.

But I know the basis of those arguments. Abortion is not taking a life.

Then raise it. No judgement and no superiority.

At least give it up for adoption to someone that WILL accept responsibility for actions.

Re: “Tucson Marches for Equality

Susan, regardless of how you view yourself, this is the definition of sanctimonious:
sanctimonious
adjective

Making a show of being morally superior to other people.

I notice you only mention love and respect when casting judgement on another person. Are they missing from your life?

Re: “Tucson Marches for Equality

Nancy, regardless of what you thought it looked like, this is the definition of democracy:

democracy
dmkrs/
noun
a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

What you are promoting has nothing to do what is best for one half of the nation. By downtrodden did you also mean female? The Mayor is about to cause Tucson to lose federal and possibly state funding because of his lawlessness.

Do whatever you want to do to your body, just don't do it to somebody that's stuck in your body. They deserve better.

I noticed that you never mention love or respect. Are they a part of your life, or is that what's missing?

Re: “Tucson Marches for Equality

This is what democracy looks like! What an experience to be part of this march, to hear our Mayor Rothschild give a supportive speech, to see and hear enthusiasm for joining together to support what so many of us believe in: autonomy over our own bodies, women's rights, support for the downtrodden. Congratulations, Tucson Weekly for the great video. I have sent it onward via Youtube.

Re: “Dry River Company

Didn't expect to write a review but I did not want the above post to be the last, since he was mistaken about it being closed.

My wife and I enjoy a pizza and beer most Friday's before going into the adjacent movie theatre. The service, pizza and beer are always very good. Pizza is delicious, with much of the ingredients made on site. The glasses are chilled (as they should always be) and the draft choices should serve everyone's taste (although I can never get enough dark lager choices anywhere). The service is fast, perfect and always very personal. I would give a shout-out to the server by name, but I don't like doing that if I have not asked the individual first. She always remembers us, and what we like, even though we are never there more than once a week for one beer and a pizza.

Re: “Danehy

Apparently, CW13 has no interest in truth. Just wait for President Trump to do exactly what he said he would. CW will probably be the first to whine, and he will probably be one of the loudest. The chickens are coming to roost, and a great many who voted for this moron will not believe what he has in store for them. He is not interested in anyone who is not in the top 1%.

Re: “Tucson Marches for Equality

What real reason is it you took this little walk. Just exactly what rights is. It that you feel are not already given to you? Because when privilege is talked about the only ones that I see that have this thing are females and minorities. But I won't even go down that minority bit. Cause I'd never get an answer over the cries of how racist and bigoted I am but then you would not have to answer me would you. In fact let's be honest none of you that would have voted for Hillary were doing so because of her non existent policies. Most of you voted for her for the simple reason she was just that, a she. And you don't want equality, just like All Sharpton and his followers, you want to be given something extra because the American male didn't see fit to say all men and women were created equal. And anyone who does not think like that is a woman hater, or a bigot, or racist. Yet it's not ok for someone to be derogatory to you because we as men must be "gentlemen". Well girls (and I use that term lightly her) when you show me that there'll be no more double standard, no more coming into a work place and demanding equal pay when you can't do the work. No more bullshit of crying discrimination when in fact you lied on the application then you might get equality. But you really don't want that. You are the ones that should be called the deplorable. Btw I am a misogynist. In fact I detest 90% of all females in today's world. Not because in some cases your better then me. Not because some have turned me down. But because of your double standards.

Re: “Vintage Vinyl

Linda wouldn't have had any way to know this, but she became a "star-in-waiting" with 'Different Drum'. For those of us who were paying attention then - and who had their ears to the ground, she was welcomed with open arms. It was never a matter, for the listening public, that she'd end up being a 'one hit wonder'; she had already walked through the door. It wasn't a matter of 'if, it was a matter of 'when'. All it would take was another 'successful' 45, and in 1970, with 'Long Long Time', she came closer. Then, everybody knows what happened in late 1974 with 'Heart Like A Wheel' and 'You're No Good'. But the point is, she already had a seat at the table in 1967; it was just a matter of time. I'm so happy that she stuck with her career. All of us are the richer for that decision.

Re: “Vintage Vinyl

Terry Lee most likely had heard Peter, Paul & Mary's 'A Soalin' before adapting some of it for 'Flight Thirteen'. PP&M were huge during this period. Their 'In Concert' LP, from 1964, got to #4 on Billboard.

Here's their version from that LP: https://youtu.be/hDlG4TS6wFA

Re: “Vintage Vinyl Tucson

'Don't Blow Your Mind' is a damn good record! Thinking back, it's amazing how relatively open local radio playlists were then - and how completely wired teenagers were to AM radio. FM was just for "serious" music like Classical, Jazz and "Easy Listening".

Thanks, also, for the local history about Copper State Studio. Looking at that address on 'Street View', the building to the right of #211, with the sunburst grills on the windows, sure looks as though it could've been a recording studio once. Is this the same building or was the original torn down to put up 'The Cadence' apartments? Anybody know?
