Re: “Opinion

I still can't believe we have a Superintendent of Public Instruction who thinks going to college is a bad idea.

The USC is not big enough for that *ss.

We will live to regret his actions. I hope he does.

Remember what we do after EVERY amnesty?

We continue to punish the good, law abiding prospects.

Lawbreakers rule. The POTUS included.

Re: “Opinion

Both Republican and Democrat middle class Arizona voters will regret the results of this election. Most of those elected won by a slivers width, from a very low percentage of eligible voters. Mandate? I think not. Those who did not vote, deserve what they get.

Re: “Opinion

Would you like some cheese with that whine? The people have spoken and progressivism IS NOT paying the bills. Let's get back to conservative progress.

Re: “Opinion

It's about time for Tucson to start swinging back to more conservative thinking. The liberal left has had a very deleterious effect, allowing illegal aliens by the thousands to come into our city/country. The only thing that could have been better is if Grijalva, the traitorous garbage that is rumored to be in business with the Sinaloan Cartel, would have lost to a common sense patriot like Saucedo Mercer. Now we are stuck with his socialist and La Raza oriented crap!

Re: “Opinion

Tom, thank you for recycling a bunch of old canards, mostly untrue, but that's politics. However on a more serious note, as an independent/libertarian, there were quite a few results I didn't like either.

The best candidate for governor didn't make it out of the primary. The ACC race makes me want to scream. The voters have no clue as to the idiot they elected as attorney general. Ethan Orr should have gone back to the legislature, but the Dems spent a lot of money making sure that didn't happen.

As for Superintendent of Public Schools, Garcia lost for several reasons. One, David Safier adored him. Two, he opposed vouchers, as well as charter schools. Three, everybody hates Common Core, generally for their own reasons, both on the left, and on the right, except for David Safier. Is Diane Douglas competent? Probably not. Blame the Republican Party, for not putting up someone competent to discuss the issues and debate them.

As for the Federal races, Kirkpatrick and Tobin are both competent and good people, but Kirkpatrick deserved to go back. As to Barber/McSally, again, two good people. However, the only reasons it was this close are, the Gabby Giffords sympathy vote, and the fact that the National Democratic Party let him off the leash to vote Arizona, as opposed to the national agenda (which are nowhere close), because they knew he was vulnerable.

Re: “Danehy

This article is a hoot! Thanks for your witty writing! When I read about the name change in the newspaper, my first reaction was that the "religion" thing (squirm, squirm) was making SOMEONE uncomfortable. Some super "progressive" types, no doubt. Great word, "progressive,' derived from "progress," which The Gregory School is not and Saint Gregory has not been in a VERY long time. My brother went to high school there in the 80s. When I told him I wanted to consider it for my own daughter way before she entered middle school, he suggested I take a look at the grounds and make a few wildly general assumptions from that--you know, the grounds and facilities that look about the same as they did in 1986?! And, speaking of things that actually shouldn't change so much, how many headmasters have spun through that "Carousel of Progress" in the last 10 years? Even Walt himself couldn't put the magic back into that school-now-without-the-saint----with or without the "the!" But, "What's in a name?" Not much when you take a candid look at Tucson, AZ high schools. The best of the public schools are still doing a superior job to any of these private schools filled with Tucson's progressive thinkers, er, I mean, "name changers." And, some of those schools have names so long, you wish they would take out a word or two! I think it really comes down to this: What do you "wanna be?" Someone who pays $17K/year for a mediocre education hoping to get mileage off from some old, elite school in New England or one of them common desert-dwelling cowboys who just want a good education for their kids? I'll take "the" latter and take the $17,000.00/year right to "the" bank: The America Bank, The Fargo of Wells Bank, The Bank of Chase, The Bank Bank. . . .

Re: “Opinion

Beautiful timing Tommy. Defend Pelosi a few days before she is exposed as a liar again.
She didn't know Gruber the Obama care architect............oops, there's that damn video of Nancy quoting him.
We don't like her because she's a powerful woman? An Italian? Really Tom?
What has happened to you Tom? You used to have a sense of humor when doing the Franzi radio show.
Lately you sound like another name calling "party hack". Hey what about that new "civility" that you guys on the left side called for after the Tucson shootings?. Bye the way, you've worn out the Douche joke.
It wasn't funny the first time.

Re: “Danehy

Last week's debacle, which will ultimately harm mostly the people who elected all those clowns, was the result of three things: Citizens United and the sanctioning of unlimited dark money; blatant exercise of the mental disease known as Obama Derangement Syndrome; and the sad spectacle of too many Democrats refusing to vote because their candidates disrespected their own president. If Dems would just vote, they would generally win. If EVERYONE who could vote exercised their rights, we would be free of most of the troglodytes infecting our congress.

Re: “Danehy

Nancy Pelosi is caught lying again, today. This is how they lost support of the American people.

Indulge yourself the education of watching both videos. It will shock you.

This is fraud against the US taxpayers.

Re: “Danehy

Plus...I've got gas!

The government’s Energy Information Administration has just updated its forecast and now predicts that gasoline prices will remain under $3 a gallon next year, a reduction from last month’s forecast of 44 cents a gallon. This translates into something like $60 billion more in the pockets of consumers, which is good news for the US economy (and the Chinese companies that sell goods here).

That is great news for Americans. And the election was only a week ago! What were we waiting for?

Re: “Danehy

But I thought global warming was going to increase hurricanes...snow today in our sister city with record low temps we have not seen since 1890s which was BEFORE the automobile.

"Oil sank into a bear market last month as leading OPEC members resisted calls to cut production and instead reduced export prices to the U.S., where output has climbed to the highest level in more than three decades."-Bloomberg News

How do you make things so complicated?

Re: “Danehy

In addition to the above, five main reasons why gas prices are down:
#1: People are driving less - less demand, prices fall, so you can probably expect a bump as we head into the holidays.
#2: Cheaper gas blends are refined in winter - equates to lower gas prices at the pump.
#3: The price of oil has been falling - once again, equates to lower gas prices at the pump, see comment just above.
#4: No major disasters - weak hurricane season did not play havoc with US oil production in the Gulf of Mexico.
#5: Consumer confidence - weaken consumer confidence has helped push gas prices to their lowest level since February. The slide in consumer confidence may not impact gasoline demand as much as the other factors but it should still result in noticeably lower gas prices.

Gawd, I wish things were as simple as FOX news makes them out to be ... fracking moron
