Re: “John McCain, Friend to Consumers, Wonders Why He Has to Keep Updating His Apps Manually

@lair bear: Apple paid $6 billion in US corporate tax in 2012, ranking it #1 of all companies based in the US.

You want a scapegoat?

Try General Electric, which paid zero corporate tax.

Re: “Burning the Bacon - Was Bacon Fest Worth It?

Bacon doesn't deserve a festival. Can this ridiculous trend just be over already?!?

These two narcissistic, lying, delusional jerks shouldn't be running a hot dog stand much less a restaurant...

Re: “John McCain, Friend to Consumers, Wonders Why He Has to Keep Updating His Apps Manually

Apple seems to have done precisely what Romney did with his taxes... Take advantage of every loophole he could to maximize his income at the expense of those who lacked the loopholes... Just another thing our grandchildren will have to pay for... So much for family values!

Re: “Media Watch

Do you remember maybe 20 years ago when the KVOA reporter tried to do a story about over-worked and under-paid nurses, but couldn't quite get the combination right. After they cut back to Patty, an "Oh, f***" was heard loud and clear in the background.

Like all reality telly, I smell a major set up. I can see it now: on tonight's season premier of Kitchen Nightmares; Amy and Samy make amends with Gordon in a heartfelt exchange that will set everything right. It's a PR man's wet dream come true.

Re: “Burning the Bacon - Was Bacon Fest Worth It?

Bumsted's does a Bacon Bash at the end of every month. I'm not sure if they are still doing it, but to my knowledge they are. I've had some great bacon laden dishes from them and I don't even like bacon that much (I'm a mutant).

Re: “The Folks at Amy's Baking Company In Scottsdale Have Gone Insane [Update: They Were 'Hacked']

It's sad because the woman has great potential to be successful. She makes great desserts, and the restaurant looks tidy, clean and appealing. She also seems to love cooking.

There were also, always customers in it which is more than a lot of other restaurants have with the challenging economy. Her extreme defensive emotions, as well as her up and down moods could be a medical condition that could be solved with a prescription.

I pray they are enlightened to the universal law - what one sows so shall they reap. Once they understand this, they can take the next step. Otherwise they will have to suffer under the illusion that they are the victims, and everyone else are wrong.

Re: “Yahoo Buys Tumblr; Tumblr Users Flee Like Rats From a Sinking Ship

Next to the mythical fairy dust "economy" of the banksters the internet has to be the biggest scam since bogus patent medicines.

Immense amounts of pretend "money" is being moved around (with speculators and sharks at every step dipping their beaks) on "businesses" that have no foot in reality, contribute little or nothing positive to society and last less than 5 years before imploding...

1.1 Billion $$$ for what? From a company that makes that money how?
