Been going to this restaurant for years. Excellent food. Great ambience. Lunch buffet is a
good value.
the restaurant is gorgeous. the food is mediocre. located in sahuarita.
gone here many times and always enjoy it. Love the planked waldorf salad.
No doubt JT. Awful place, as are so many others in Tucson. Don't be too hard on the reviewers though. Apparently they haven't had decent food in ages, if ever. In other words they have no yardstick to compare with. When my contract is up I look forward to moving. I could probably throw a dart at a map and come up with a better place, food and weather wise.
The food was fabulous, the service even moreso! We never had to wait for a thing...they seemed to know what we needed before we did. The baklava is baked there and is the best I've ever had! I had mousakka and my husband had the grilled lamb, and both were great! It will be a regular on our 'regular list!
A Wonderful, Unique place to unwind and have a cup (or seven) of tea! The well-informed staff will explain things about tea to you that you never would have guessed, making the enjoyment of their vast selection that much more fun.
I find it odd that and Greek restaurant serves spaghetti and they uses large flour Mexican tortillas as gyro wraps. Except for the watered down humus, my main course was pretty decent though. The lamb was tender and tasty. I should also mention, for readers sake, that it took several minutes before we were seated and they weren't not that busy. They also brought our food and forgot to set the table before hand, no silverware! The latter two aspects are why I chose to give Opa a two overall.
While there are not a lot of real good bbq joints in Tucson, Dave's may be the best in terms of consistency. We went here Saturday, March the 5th and it was a good as the last time we went which was a few months or so earlier. Pulled pork sandwiches are excellent.
Regarding the individual who quoted another commenter, "how can you trust the opinions of someone who says "there are very few good places to eat in Tucson"? I don't know? Maybe it's because he or she is on the money. No disrespect but my wife and I agree that this place, as with so many other Tucson eateries, was only so so. Over all, Los Angles and Portland blow Tucson out of the water food-wise.
I actually drove down to this location to meet a friend. We had lunch. Bottom line is that regardless of their location the food is sincerely crappy. Menu items have a very precooked, processed, heat and serve quality to them. Not good. The service at this location was real slow also. Had we gone to Jerry Bobs which is in the same plaza we could have had an equally disappointing truck stop like meal.
Yeah. Overpriced, way too salty, americanized Asian food.
To date, we have been here three times. Some menu items are very, very good whereas others are just OK. In any case, the waiters always neglect to tell us about the nightly featured dinner specials - we have to ask! Moreover, I find it unprofessional to be asked if we want change back when we go to pay for our meals. You just shouldn't do that to your customers. I'll decide your tip, which is usually ample, after you bring back my change, thank you.
Best Hot and Sour soup ever!!! mmmmm...rich and very flavorful!
WOW! The other reviewer must have had a bad day...I went here with my family same exact day as the other reviewer's post. We must have been in different restaurant's. Our meals were outstanding and just the right portions. Service was great too, with our waitress continually asking us if we needed anything and promptly refilling drinks. I had the chicken schwarma with salad and motabal. Schwarma's are meant to be eaten with pita...they are not just plates of meat, hence the reason why they are not big chunks of meat. The chicken had some kind of paprika onions and a sauce that tasted like tahini - really good. The motabal was a roasted eggplant dip that had a really good depth of flavor. The rice, by the way, is not intended to be a "saffron rice" as the other reviewer posted. It was a buttery rice that was probably cooked in chicken broth. It was neither tasteless or dry. If you favor gigantic portions of fat laden food you should stick to McDonald's. If you want very flavorful food with great service, go here. This was a great place and a great experience.
Best pizza I have ever had...
Magpies is hands down the best pizza in tucson and it shows because im pretty sure they've won tucson weekly's best pizza award something ridiculous like 15 times in a row. this place is definitely the place to go when your craving a good pizza
Yummy food, informal setting, loving vibe, and fantastic cheesecake. Hare Krishna!
Bad service and woefully over priced!
Finally got around to trying this place. Picked up the Lamb Shwarma with Rice for $13 and the Baklava for $3....
Firstly, they were 20 MINUTES LATE WITH MY ORDER so, needless to say that, by the time the bag finally actually showed up, I didn't really bother to check the contents, just blindly trusted that there was enough actual food in the containers to feed a person.
When I got home however, I opened it up to discover- I kid you not (I seriously had to get out my measuring cups to check) 1/4 cup of both a salad and some of the MOST TASTELESS AND DRIEST "Saffron" rice imaginable, and, in comparison to that skimpy portioning a "generous" 1/3 of a cup of tiny dribbles of meat with- and I had to count this part too, 4 of the tiniest "slices" of onion I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE outside of a McDonald's burger!!!!
Seriously, I had to get a spoon because the meat dribbles weren't even big enough to scoop up with a fork- much less spear! And, of course, it was pretty much fat and grizzle (how in the seven hells they managed to make actual FAT dry too- I honestly don't even want to know- I mean, I'm the first to admit that a chef's only as good as the quality of their ingredients- and that was obviously the majority of the problem but COME ON!!!!!)
Now, I'll grant, the baklava was good.... all three bites of it....
But, needless to say that given that I was starving at the time, I still managed to choke it down and, obviously, even after polishing everything off, I had to get up and make an ACTUAL dinner for myself.
Sooooo not going back because, I can only surmise that, they've somehow spied out the critics and gave them VIP treatment of some kind here- because these portions at these prices with this piss-poor service and bad quality of ingredients SERIOUSLY SUCKS!
Our go-to place for authentic, traditional French food and service for over twenty years. We love the ambiance and the presentation. The food is consistently outstanding! Watch out for the desserts! Fab!
Re: “Texas Roadhouse”
blaring country music. Food of very low quality. really horrible experience.
